00:00The secondary tariffs that we're hearing about as well, up to 100% on Russia's trading partners,
00:04what are the implications that we could see from that?
00:08What are we looking at in terms of China, India, the big trading partners with Russia?
00:12What could be the fallout?
00:13For sanctions, people have said 500% and tariffs, of course, are 100%.
00:20But I think you're going to see a lot more diplomatic pressure on Russia and China
00:24to comply with international sanctions that are more directly imposed on Russia.
00:29Will that work? I don't know.
00:31But it's a logical next step because, as everybody knows, Russia gets a lot of money into its treasury
00:37from these kinds of secondary deals on oil in particular with countries such as Russia and China.
00:43So I would guess that those two countries in particular are going to have to make some very tough decisions,
00:48either focus on the pressure from the United States and dealing with the financial pressure that will inflict,
00:55or make some kind of a change in their approach.
00:57And so I think the ball in some way shifts to New Delhi and to Beijing
01:03to see how they're going to respond to these U.S. warnings.
01:10After all, we've seen the Trump administration use tariffs and this kind of thing
01:14as a foreign policy lever since he took office in January,
01:18and I'm not surprised at all that that's another step where he might go.
01:23And certainly a lot of experts here in Washington are urging him to do that
01:26in order to increase the pressure on Russia to get this horrible war done and over in an unjust way.
