00:00President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. picks former journalist and veteran public relations practitioner
00:06Dave Gomez as new communications secretary. This for the fifth time in just three years in office.
00:14Gomez started as a reporter for the Philippine Star and later joined
00:17Leoburnet, then became the director general of the Philippine Information Agency.
00:22He is the latest in the long list of communications chiefs under the Marcos administration.
00:27Jay Ruiz, who briefly served as acting head of the presidential communications office,
00:33held the role for just over four months before being reassigned. Ruiz's time in the role was
00:38still longer than that of Marcos' first communications head, vlogger Trixie Cruz-Angelis,
00:44who stepped down within the first three months of the administration.
00:48Cesar Chavez, the third PCO chief, served for just over six months.
