00:00The first superhero was this guy. No, not Superman. Not Batman. The first superhero is widely considered to be the Phantom, created by Lee Falk. He debuted in a newspaper comic strip on February 17, 1936. The Phantom is also known as Kit Walker.
00:16It was a costumed crime fighter with a mask and a tight-fitting suit who operated out of the fictional African nation of Bangalore. He had no superpowers, but he was a master of disguise, a skilled fighter, and a brilliant strategist.
00:31And because of his unique costume and his reputation as a nearly immortal being, he struck fear into the hearts of criminals everywhere. Phantom's legacy has been passed down through generations.
