00:00Coming live to you on YouTube from Ciudad Esportiva, Joan Gamper.
00:04Hope you're all having a wonderful summer and I'm sure you're all eager to see Barca back in action.
00:11Well, Hansi Flex Barca, the domestic treble winning team, is back after 50 days, a month and a half of no football, no club football.
00:21And we are all really looking forward to seeing the team back in action.
00:25First session here today at the Tito Villanova training field with all of the available first team players who passed their routine medical checks yesterday.
00:35Mark Testegin will work aside from the group today.
00:38He will be in the gym as we see the players gradually making their way over to this side of the Camp Tito Villanova.
00:48There will also be nine Barca Athletic players joining the team for the preseason.
00:53Then, Landry Ferrer, Tony Fernandez, Guillermo Fernandez, Jan Virgili, Juan Hernandez, Ibrahim Diarra, Geoffrey Torrents, Pedro Fernandez-Dro and Dani Rodriguez.
01:04Some of whom you already saw last season playing under Hansi Flex.
01:09Some of them made it into the squad list.
01:11Some of them even got their debuts.
01:13Dani Rodriguez, for example, against Valladolid late in the season.
01:18It's also a debut for the new training kit, which you can see right now with this fantastic tone of purple.
01:25The new gear for this season is bound to be a hit.
01:29We kick off a second season with Hansi Flick in charge.
01:34No doubt a challenging one with a lot of things to look forward to.
01:40Barca will try to sustain the success of the first season.
01:43Three titles and a level of excellence in football that was the envy of Europe and the whole world.
01:53Compete again for all the titles of play, of course, will be the objective for Barca.
01:58We won the league.
01:59We won the Super Cup.
01:59We won the Copa del Rey.
02:01We came just short in the Champions League, getting knocked out in the semifinals against Inter Milan.
02:08And that will definitely be on the minds of the players this season.
02:12We'll talk about that in a second because yesterday we had one notorious mention to this.
02:19We will have to continue to see the young talent of the team grow, improve and mature as well.
02:25A lot of young players still on this squad.
02:29We saw it mentioned time and time again last season.
02:33But the level of maturity of this team for the young average age is simply spectacular.
02:40The know-how and the ability to stay focused until the end of games was a key last season.
02:47And that will definitely be something that Hansi Flick and his staff will be looking for this season.
02:52And, of course, we are all looking forward to seeing that attractive, high-energy and high-press style of football again.
02:58But it's always a challenge, of course, in a second season when opponents know what you are going to do.
03:03So there are going to have to be tweaks and changes.
03:06And I'm sure that Hansi Flick will have all of that in mind preparing for this upcoming season.
03:13Fans also excited, of course, with new additions as every summer.
03:19New faces in the team are something to keep an eye on.
03:23And Juan Garcia was announced in the month of June, coming from Saïdien.
03:28Coming off of a great season at Espanyol, he was the keeper with the most saves in La Liga.
03:36So great signing there by Deco and all of his staff.
03:40146 saves in 38 league matches made by Juan Garcia last season.
03:46And he also led the league in goals prevented.
03:49He recorded a 73.71% save rate in the league last season, which included two penalty saves.
03:57And he was only behind Unai Simon and Jan Oblak in that percentage of save rate.
04:04Juan Garcia spoke to us a few days ago.
04:08And he did say he's looking forward to doing great things and also to get to meet his teammates, which is what he is doing today.
04:16He did some workouts last season.
04:18We saw images of it, footage of Juan Garcia working out in the gym, which was exciting to see for all cool ears.
04:26A new addition was announced today as well.
04:28New signing.
04:29He is Rooney Bardagi.
04:31He's Swedish.
04:32He'll be working with the first team this season.
04:34And today, as we said, the announcement between Football Club Barcelona and FC Copenhagen was announced.
04:42He is 19 years of age.
04:44He's a right winger known for his skill, speed and goal scoring ability.
04:49Made his debut for Copenhagen in 2022.
04:51He's played 84 games with 15 goals and one assist.
04:55So we'll be keeping a close eye on him during this preseason to see how he fares with this high-talent squad.
05:07Of course, all eyes will also be on the stars of this team and namely Namin Yamal, who turned 18 years of age yesterday, just 18 years old.
05:18And he is already one of the best players in the world.
05:21Last month, he also signed a contract extension, which will keep him as a Blaugrana until June 2031.
05:29And yesterday, as Barca posted on social media, he gave us his birthday wish.
05:36And it's the title that's missing, of course.
05:39A clear message for cool ears that he is going for the Champions League.
05:43He and the team will give it everything that they have to go for the Champions League, which the club has not been able to win since 2015.
05:52We came close last season and we will for sure be competing for it again this season.
05:58A new Champions League, by the way, with a little tweak in it, which is something that would have benefited Barca last season.
06:06UEFA has decided that the best-ranked teams in the league phase will now have the advantage of playing the second leg at home in all knockout rounds,
06:15which is what Barca did in the earlier knockout rounds, but not in the quarter-finals and the semis in Dortmund.
06:23And in Milan, that for sure would have given Barca a better chance to go through in both rounds.
06:31It was what it was, though.
06:32Speaking of the Champions League, well, we have dates, of course.
06:35The draw for the league phase will be on August 28th, so we still have to wait a little bit to see who Barca will be facing in the top European competition this season.
06:45A competition with 36 teams.
06:47Barca will be in pot one, along with Real Madrid, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Liverpool, PSG, Inter, Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund.
06:56And we know that we'll be facing at least one of those teams as each team faces, well, plays two games with teams from pot one and then teams from pot two, three and four.
07:11We know that the first game in the Champions League will be between the 16th and the 18th of September of 2025.
07:20The last group stage game will be on the 28th of January of next year, 2026.
07:26We do know Barca's upcoming schedule, 10 days here in Barcelona with training sessions, alternating single and double workouts.
07:37And then off to Asia, it is the Blaugrana Tour Asia Edition by Philips Ambilight TV.
07:44It's a return from Barca to Asia after six years.
07:48The last pre-season tour in the Asian continent was in 2019.
07:55Barca will fly there on the 24th of July and stay until the 5th of August.
08:00The first visit is to Japan.
08:02There will be one friendly game in Japan on the 27th of July.
08:06That will be the first game of the pre-season, the first test for Hansi Flick's side against Vissal Kobe.
08:12And after that, the team will travel to South Korea.
08:15Two games there on the 31st of July.
08:19They'll play the second game of the pre-season against Seoul on the 4th of August, third and final game of the tour against Daegu.
08:28And the team will return.
08:30And we already know some timetables, some passes schedule in the league as well.
08:36Match days one, two and three have been confirmed.
08:40And Mallorca is the first opponent in the league.
08:43That is Saturday the 16th of August at half past seven in the evening.
08:49First game in La Liga away.
08:52Match days two and three are also away.
08:54Levante is the second opponent in La Liga, 23rd of August.
08:57That is at 9.30.
08:58We'll have some late kick-offs in the month of August.
09:00That is because, of course, of the hot weather conditions all across Spain during the summer.
09:09And it's best to keep kick-offs late in order to help the players perform at the highest level.
09:16Match day two against Levante, 23rd of August.
09:19That is a Sunday at 9.30 in the evening.
09:22And match day three will also kick off at 9.30 in the evening.
09:25That will be Saturday the 13th.
09:55We'll see the Clásico be played at home.
10:03So the same weekends as last season.
10:07We also know that the last game of 2025 is in December at Villarreal.
10:12And the first game of 2026 will be the Catalan derby at Espanyol.
10:17So a lot to look forward to this season as we're seeing the players warm up.
10:23And we've got the goalkeepers preparing separately.
10:26We've already talked a little bit about Joan Garcia and all of his merits to be signed for Football Club Barcelona.
10:34We had news recently as well that Wojtek Shensny extended his contract until June 2027.
10:41So two more years of Shensny as a Blaugrana.
10:44He joined the team in the middle of last season due to Marc-Andre Testeggen's long-term injury.
10:52And he contributed mightily in 30 appearances for Barca during the 24-25 season.
10:58Shensny kept 14 clean sheets and was never on the losing side in La Liga.
11:04Yeah, quite the feat.
11:05The Polish players' experience and maturity was a great help for coach Hansi Flick in a young and inexperienced Barca squad.
11:12And, well, coming out of retirement in his first season as a Blaugrana, he got the silverware.
11:18Three titles starting in the final of the Super Cup and in the Copa and playing a pivotal role in La Liga as well.
11:27Also in the Champions League.
11:30A lot to look forward to in this upcoming season with the consolidation of key pieces in the squad.
11:41Let's talk a little bit about some of the main names.
11:43Robert Lewandowski, for instance, coming off of a 42-goal scoring season.
11:49He reached 101 official goals for Barca.
11:52That's in three seasons total.
11:5433 in the first, 26 in the second and 42, as we said, last season.
12:00He is the fifth player in Barca history to reach 100 official Barca goals.
12:05He did so in 147 matches.
12:08Last season, he had 27 in the league, 11 in the Champions League, three in the Copa, one in the Supercopa.
12:14That was all in 52 matches.
12:17And he did miss a few in the last few weeks of the season due to an injury which kept him out of key games.
12:24Robert Lewandowski will start his fourth season as a Blaugrana and will be looking to be a reference up top where we'll also see, of course, Rafinha, who had his, well, his burst out season.
12:39And he was named the best player in La Liga in 24-25.
12:43He scored 18 goals in the league, having scored seven and six in the two previous seasons.
12:48So just more than doubling his numbers from previous season.
12:53He also had 11 assists.
12:55It was his breakout year, no doubt.
12:57He took his football to another level, becoming a very attack-minded player.
13:01Down the left, down the middle.
13:03A lot of versatility for Rafinha, and he was a real difference maker, both on and off the pitch.
13:08He became an absolute leader, being one of the captains.
13:12His attitude was, well, reflected in every action, really.
13:16And we saw him accomplish his goals that he'd set himself at the beginning of the season.
13:24And for sure, he'll set himself maybe even higher goals for this upcoming season.
13:29And no doubt, looking forward to seeing what Rafinha can do, along with Robert Lewandowski, with Laminia Mala as well, who, well, just continues to grow.
13:40He scored 18 goals last season in all competitions.
13:46He also had 22 assists and just came up big in the big moments.
13:52He scored in three of the four Clásicos, scored against Inter Milan.
13:57He scored the league-clinching goal at Espanyol and just continued to get better and better and better.
14:03And he's just 18 years of age.
14:05And we have high hopes for what Laminia Mala can do.
14:10He has them himself.
14:11He's very ambitious.
14:12He has relentless ambition.
14:15He said in an interview for the club's media that his goal this season is to go and win the Champions League.
14:23And, of course, he wants the World Cup as well.
14:25That will be next summer, first of all, at a club level.
14:28He wants to bring the Champions League back to Barcelona.
14:30He said it very clearly.
14:33And, of course, with the support of his teammates,
14:36Barca will definitely look to have a chance to compete for the highest European competition.
14:41Another player that played a spectacular role in the team last season in midfield
14:51alongside Frankie de Jong, alongside Marc Casador at the beginning of the season
14:56with Marc Bernal as well, who will be coming back this season as well.
15:00It's Pedri.
15:00Pedri, the player with the most appearances last season.
15:03He played 59 games with 56 starts out of the 60 competitive matches.
15:1059 out of 60, that is.
15:12He scored six goals in all competitions.
15:14He was the creative mind of the team.
15:16He was a motor in midfield.
15:18And we will all remember his screamer in the Copa del Rey final against Real Madrid for a very long time.
15:26What a goal that Pedri scored in that final.
15:30As the opener, Ferran Torres scored in that game as well.
15:34And so did Jules Koundé Ferran Torres, the third top scorer for the team last season with 19 goals.
15:41And started off in the role of super sub, coming off of the bench and making a real impact.
15:46And ended up the season starting in the line-up, scoring goals being important.
15:51And it will be another important season for the Tiburon this season.
15:56And, of course, we'll all be looking to see what tweaks Hansi Flick introduces to the team this season.
16:04A lot of talk was about the high-press line.
16:06And we'll see if Hansi with Paolo Barci, with Ronald Araujo, with Inigo Martínez, with Andres Christensen, the full-backs as well.
16:15Well, Jules Koundé, Alejandro Valdez, Gerard Martínez, Hector Forte, if they continue to go for that high line, which was so successful last season.
16:25Left a lot of teams in the offside trap and gave passers so many advantages last season.
16:32It was definitely attractive to watch.
16:34It's a brave bet.
16:35And it was definitely an identity mark of the team.
16:40As we see the players gather now for a little cooling break as the training session continues here at Ciudad Esportiva.
16:49Joan Gamper, we're showing you this first live training session of the preseason.
16:5714th of July, La Liga starts on the 16th of August.
17:00It all gets going.
17:01It all gets going now here at Ciudad Esportiva.
17:06First day back at work.
17:08And we're going to leave it here.
17:09We're going to leave it here.
17:10And, well, a reminder that you can find all of the Barca content on all of Barca's channels.
17:17Thank you very much for working.
17:18And stay tuned on YouTube, on Facebook, and on Barca One for all the latest Barca updates.
17:23Bye-bye.
