00:00The killing was just a means to an end. That was the least satisfactory part.
00:05Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we're looking at 10 of the creepiest things
00:09serial killers have ever said.
00:12Big deal. That's all we're going with, the territories. I'll see you in Disneyland.
00:19Number 10. Charles Manson.
00:22In the late 60s, a cult known as The Family began operating in San Francisco.
00:27Over the years, its leader, Charles Manson, would order his members to end the lives of plenty of people.
00:33Living is what scares me. Dying is easy.
00:37Although he was arrested several times during his cult reign,
00:40his most serious crimes did not occur until 1969.
00:44In an interview with MSNBC, Manson said he wouldn't feel a thing if he hurt the interviewer.
00:49He also denied being involved in any of the crimes they accused him of.
00:54I did not break the law. Jesus Christ told you that 2,000 years ago.
00:59And that is when he said one of his most chilling quotes.
01:02Believe me, if I started murdering people, there'd be none of you left.
01:09Manson was sentenced to life in prison in 1972.
01:14Number 9. Albert Fish.
01:16When you've tried all other thrills, what's left?
01:19Fish reportedly began to enjoy pain at a young age after being exposed to brutality.
01:24In 1890, he moved to New York,
01:27and that is when he would begin to carry out his crimes against many children.
01:31Fish could have easily passed for someone's grandfather.
01:34But this was not your average grandfather.
01:37A six-year investigation was launched when Fish ended a young life,
01:41and later sent an anonymous letter to the mother describing what he had done.
01:45It took me nine days to eat your entire body.
01:49He confessed to his crimes upon his arrest,
01:51and smiled during the gruesome detailed descriptions of his acts.
01:55In 1936, he was executed by electrocution,
01:59and said that he was looking forward to the thrill.
02:02Fish had even been looking forward to his electrocution.
02:05It'll be the supreme thrill.
02:08The only one I haven't tried.
02:10Number 8. Ian Brady.
02:11Ian Brady was a part of a boyfriend-girlfriend duo
02:14who carried out various crimes around Manchester between 1963 and 1965.
02:20According to his girlfriend,
02:21he first talked about ending someone's life in 1963.
02:25That same year, the couple finished off their first victim.
02:28Outwardly a normal couple, they became serial killers.
02:31Over the years, the two brutally ended the lives of five innocents.
02:36Their crimes eventually led to their arrest.
02:38When Brady and Hindley were arrested, they said nothing.
02:42Brady was diagnosed as a psychopath in 1985,
02:45and spent the rest of his life in a psychiatric hospital.
02:48He told a journalist that he had a better chance of contacting the dead than agreeing to an interview.
02:54Ian Brady now takes to his grave the truth about Keith Bennett's whereabouts.
02:59Number 7. James French.
03:01Born in 1936 in Illinois,
03:04James French ended the life of a motorist after he asked him for a ride.
03:08Strangely enough, French was determined to get a death sentence,
03:12which was denied by the jury.
03:14Sentenced to life, he shared his cell with inmate Eddie Lee Shelton.
03:18The two did not seem to get along, and French ended Shelton's life.
03:22Once again, French requested a death sentence
03:25after explaining he finished off Shelton to give enough reasoning for an execution.
03:29When on the chair, French's final words were directed at journalists.
03:33He suggested a headline pun for his passing.
03:37Number 6. Richard Ramirez.
03:40Richard Ramirez, aka the Night Stalker,
03:43was most known for ending the lives of over 13 people,
03:46and horrifically tormenting dozens more.
03:49He was most active between 1984 and 85,
03:52and was arrested that same year.
03:54With Ramirez in custody,
03:56officers would now come face to face with the killer for the first time.
04:00During his trial, Ramirez managed to gather a fan base of fellow Satan worshippers.
04:05It's also rumored that he orchestrated an attack on one of the jurors,
04:09which delayed the trial.
04:10After being sentenced to death,
04:12Ramirez refused to show any remorse.
04:15He was sentenced to death.
04:16He addressed the courtroom that it's really not a big deal,
04:19and that he'll see everyone in Disneyland.
04:21Big deal. That's how we went with the territories.
04:25I'll see you in Disneyland.
04:27Number 5. Jane Toppen.
04:30When you admit your ambition is to end the lives of more helpless people than anyone else,
04:35you know we have to put you on this list.
04:38Jane Toppen was a nurse who ended the lives of her patients
04:40by altering their dosage prescriptions.
04:43Jane Toppen was the proverbial bad seed,
04:46descended from a lineage of evil.
04:481895 was the year when Toppen started to poison people outside of her usual hospital setting.
04:55She wasn't arrested until 1901.
04:58And a year later, she confessed to ending the lives of 31 people.
05:02She was finally brought to justice in 1901,
05:06after she killed off the entire Davis family.
05:09But she also confessed she wished to have put a lot more on her tally,
05:13more than anyone else has ever done.
05:16That is my ambition, to have killed more people,
05:19more helpless people, than any man or woman who has ever lived.
05:26Number 4. Joe Matheny.
05:28Joe Matheny was a serial killer, sentenced to life without parole in 1998.
05:32However, he was already on trial in 1995,
05:36but the jury didn't have enough evidence to connect him to the passing of the victims.
05:41After his final arrest, Matheny admitted to executing 13 people,
05:45including the victims in the 1995 case.
05:48However, evidence and research only found 5 victims in total.
05:52He confessed that he enjoyed carrying out his acts,
05:55and didn't feel any remorse.
05:57This quote is pretty morbid,
05:59and it feels like we could be perfectly fine without knowing this fact.
06:03Number 3. Richard Kuklinski.
06:06Richard Kuklinski, aka The Iceman,
06:09was described as someone who took people's lives for profit.
06:12He got his nickname after he froze one of his victims
06:15in order to try to divert law enforcement from determining the time of their passing.
06:20Kuklinski had frozen the body in an industrial freezer.
06:23This was the murder that earned him the name of Iceman.
06:27Kuklinski gave several interviews after his crimes,
06:30and confessed to having caused the death of up to 200 men.
06:33Approximately, we'll go away.
06:35More than 100.
06:37He admitted he liked the hunt and the challenge,
06:40which was more important to him than the actual criminal act.
06:43He even got a thrill out of having more odds against him,
06:46because it gave him an opportunity to figure out how he'll carry out his act.
06:51Number 2. Jeffrey Dahmer.
06:53Last before least,
06:55it's the serial killer that ended the lives of 17 men between 1978 and 1991.
07:02Jeffrey Dahmer's crimes were so hideous.
07:04We can't even talk about them in a lot of detail here.
07:07Let's just say dissection and eating were involved.
07:10Ultimately, Dahmer wanted a partner he could completely control, dead or alive.
07:15By 1991, Dahmer was finishing off one person each week.
07:20During this time, he even came into contact with the police,
07:24who failed to do a check on him.
07:26In his quote,
07:27Dahmer revealed that ending people's lives wasn't satisfactory.
07:31He wanted control.
07:32Killing was just a means to an end.
07:34That was the least satisfactory part.
07:38In his words,
07:39he wanted to create living zombies out of his victims.
07:42I tried to create living zombies.

08:02Number 1.
08:04Peter Curtin
08:04Curtin had been arrested almost 30 times before his final sentence.
08:09His criminal acts were especially gruesome.
08:12So much so that they were recounted in a book called The Sadist,
08:16which is considered a criminology classic.
08:19She believed him, 47-year-old Peter Curtin, to be the vampire.
08:23It's reported that by the time he was 10,
08:25Curtin ended the lives of two of his classmates.
08:28From committing petty crimes to brutal acts since he was little,
08:32Curtin was eventually sentenced to death and executed in 1931.
08:37Curtin was sentenced to death.
08:39He expressed remorse for his crimes.
08:41Just before he passed,
08:43he asked his psychologist whether he would still be able to hear the aftermath
08:46after he loses his head.
08:49To make things more creepy,
08:50he added that this would be the ultimate pleasure.
