02:11Hello everybody, welcome to this very special episode of the Pro Wrestling Podcast.
02:15We haven't done a lot of these, we're going to do some tonight.
02:17It's going to be a little different than anything we normally do.

02:30Drop us a line, let us know what you want us to talk about, and we will get to that in a future episode.
02:35Tonight's episode, what we are doing, I am going to fantasy book SummerSlam 2025.
02:41Look, it is several weeks away, we don't know what WWE is planning with their match card and what's going to go down.
02:47We have a lot of people who speculate on different things.
02:49I am going to throw at you what I think makes a logical sense in terms of what they have been doing with storylines,
02:55and how to get a lot more people onto the card, and what I would do if I were WWE.
03:00Now, this does not mean it is the storylines that I want to happen.
03:04It is what I think they should do to maximize the roster on a two-night SummerSlam.
03:10Essentially, I heard Simon Miller call it the hot WrestleMania.
03:14The SummerSlam show that this year for the first time will be a two-night show.
03:18This, to me, is the card that they should use to really maximize this first two-night opportunity and give people tons of information to watch and look at.
03:28Let's start off with night one.
03:30First off, let's remember this.
03:32So, Mania, some of the issues that people have with Mania was the women did not get to be featured on the show as much as they should be prominently like they should be.
03:40We've got to get women onto the show, and I don't want to hear, oh, well, we've got Evolution to do that.
03:45No.
03:46They have to be on the card in prime matches.
03:49Now, do I think they're going to main event the show?
03:51No, I do not.
03:52And I'm not saying that that's a good thing.
03:54I think at some point we've got to get some of these two-night pay-per-views to absolutely include them as the headliners.
03:59I just think that your main events each night have to be the hottest storylines in the company, male, female, or otherwise.
04:06That's not to disrespect the women, but right now, think about in WWE.
04:10Who is the female talent that is leading the charge as the number one attraction on television right now?
04:16Rhea Ripley is phenomenal.
04:18No one's going to argue with her popularity.
04:20Jade Cargill, super popular.
04:22They need to have a program where all parties in the match are so sought after they can overcome their male counterparts.
04:29And we'll get into why I chose what I chose as we go through.
04:32First off, let me give you some background.
04:34As I did this, I budgeted out seven matches per night for the show.
04:38That's the starting point.
04:40The second thing is I made sure that there was a balance between Raw and SmackDown matches.
04:45There are seven Raw total, seven SmackDown total spread across the two nights.
04:50And they're kind of zigzagged.
04:52For example, the Men's and Women's United States Championship would not be defended on the same night.
04:56Nor would be the Men's and Women's Intercontinental Championship.
04:58Nor the Men's and Women's World Championship.
05:01You know what I mean?
05:02I split it up that way.
05:03So both shows are represented by their champions.
05:06And interestingly, you don't get too much of the same stuff on the same show.
05:10That being said, let's jump into my fantasy book card, what I think WWE should do for SummerSlam 2025.
05:16Alright, so night one.
05:18Let's talk about where I start the show.
05:20I know some people are going to be irritated with this.
05:22They're going to be like, no, this is too big of a match to be the opening match of night one of SummerSlam.
05:25But there's a method to my madness and reasons for everything I say.
05:29So night one opening match for the World Heavyweight Championship.
05:33Gunther defending against CM Punk.
05:37Which obviously that means I'm predicting that Gunther retains over Goldberg at Saturday night's main event.
05:42Duh.
05:43But I do think Gunther and CM Punk, now that they had those seeds planted on last Raw,
05:47I think this would be the perfect way to segue into that match at SummerSlam.
05:52That being said, I expect it would be a slobber knocker type of match.
05:55Heavy hitting.
05:56I don't think you can beat Punk again.
05:59He just lost to Cena in Saudi Arabia for the WWE Championship.
06:03If you're ever going to give him a championship, it would have to be right here.
06:06I think it would be a great opportunity for Seth Rollins to cash in on him if he beats Gunther.
06:12Which would then set up their ongoing feud and that gives Seth something to do in the coming months.
06:17Otherwise, if Gunther were to retain for some reason, again there could be a cash in.
06:21Now I'm not convinced there's not going to be a cash in on Saturday night's main event.
06:24I've said the other day on our previous episode that I think it would be a great idea for at the end of the match after Goldberg probably I would imagine does like a submission tap out or pass out thing from the sleeper.
06:34If not, if Gunther does something to his son or his family, taunts him in some way, Goldberg snaps and hits him with a bunch of spears and jackhammers and whatever, that would be a great opportunity for Seth to come out and cash in.
06:47But that would throw off the rest of my SummerSlam card so we're not going to go there.
06:50Gunther versus CM Punk opening night one followed by Lyra Valkyria versus Roxanne Perez with Raquel Rodriguez for the Women's Intercontinental Championship.
07:01Again, that spoils a little bit of my planning for the Evolution 2 pay-per-view because I do not think Roxanne and Raquel walk out with the championship.
07:08Lyra needs a new opponent and I think we have to steer her away from Becky and Bayley.
07:13I think they wanted to do the triple threat at SummerSlam but they needed a big match for Evolution because the ticket sales being dipped.
07:18And I think you have to move on from there.
07:20I will get to the other two in a minute, but I think Valkyria needs a new challenger.
07:24It's got to be a heel because I think that's what we need in this coming out of this and Roxanne Perez could slide right into there because think about the storyline here.
07:32Ready? Dominic Mysterio is the Intercontinental Champion. Roxanne the Women's Intercontinental Champion.
07:37Together on the brand, it lends to the conversation when Liv Morgan comes back about the two of them having their little soiree while Liv is away.
07:45I think it would create great drama and give the Judgment Day something else to focus on.
07:52And I just think it makes all the sense in the world.
07:55And Roxanne, let's be honest, needs to win a championship of her own.
07:58And this tag team thing was great.
08:00It's like a band-aid on the Liv Morgan issue.
08:02But moving forward, we got to get her into a more premium program.
08:05Match three, night one, Solo Sokoa versus Jacob Fatu, bloodline rules for the United States Championship with tons of outside interference.
08:15Obviously, J.C. Mateo would get involved, Hicaleo, Talaloa, Talatango, whatever I can remember off the top of my head what they call him now.
08:24Jimmy Uso, but I also think this is where you could debut Zilla Fatu and really shake things up.
08:30And I think Jacob Fatu would walk out with the United States Championship.
08:33I think that's what you need to do.
08:34Next match, match four, back to the SmackDown side of things, Charlotte and Alexa Bliss, the women who I predict will win the Women's Tag Team Championship match at Evolution,
08:44defending against their opponents in that pay-per-view, the Kabuki Warriors for the Women's Tag Team Championship.
08:49I think it'd be a great match.
08:51It would eliminate the need for the NXT involvement.
08:54It would eliminate the need for Roxanne and Raquel.
08:57We can get them out of the picture.
08:58And you could get really going with this match, all the history between Charlotte and Asuka, Alexa Bliss getting involved and having Kairi Sane in there.
09:06I think it would be a great tag team match and they don't need the other two teams to be a part of it.
09:10I think that's what we do at SummerSlam.
09:13Next match is going to make no sense to anybody, but you got to hear me out on this.
09:17There are too many prime talents on the roster and not enough spaces to do stuff with all of them.
09:22That being said, I don't know the stipulation.
09:25There has to be some kind of stipulation because that's what we do in WWE now.
09:28Every pay-per-view seems to have a match that leads to a championship match elsewhere.
09:32King of the Ring, the Battle Royal at Evolution leading to a match in Berlin or Paris or wherever they're at this year.
09:39We keep seeing that thing happen.
09:42So we need to have more of those things to keep with what we've been doing in WWE lately.
09:46So I'm booking Karrion Kross versus Penta versus Rusev versus Sheamus.
09:52Winner getting a championship opportunity at pick whatever title you want. I don't care.
09:56The reason I chose those four is I could not see a logical way to build them onto the card.
10:02If I was going to cut a match, this would be the match that I cut from night one.
10:05But I don't see a way to get any of those four on the card if you don't put them into this match.
10:10And the problem is I don't see how you keep Kross, Penta, Rusev, and Sheamus all out of SummerSlam when it's two nights long.
10:17How do you not feature four amazing talents like that?
10:20Follow that up with Becky Lynch versus Bayley, a straight-up grudge match.
10:24Put a stipulation of some kind, last woman standing, something of that nature, no holds barred, extreme rules, I don't care.
10:31I think that's a match everybody's going to want to see after Evolution, after the three-person match, the triple threat for the Intercontinental Championship.
10:39And this is a great way to blow off that feud, wrap it up, and move on.
10:43The main event for night one of SummerSlam.
10:46This is giving away what I think they're going to do in the next couple weeks, and I've mentioned this in other episodes.
10:50The main event for night one, Seth Rollins, Bron Breaker, and Bronson Reed taking on Roman Reigns, Jey Uso, and Sami Zayn.
11:00I think it's what needs to happen, and because when I look down the road, think about it.
11:05We've got Survivor Series coming up and a few months to plan how to put it together to have Roman Reigns, Jey Uso, Sami Zayn, Jimmy Uso, Jacob Fatu, and Zilla Fatu
11:16taking on Seth Rollins, Bron Breaker, Bronson Reed, Solo Sokoa, Hikaleo, and JC Mateo.
11:24Think about how big that would be at war games.
11:27That's where I think we should take it.
11:29So, my night one main event, Roman Reigns, Jey Uso, Sami Zayn versus Seth Rollins faction with Bron Breaker and Bronson Reed.
11:35I think this is a perfect way to round out night one and would be the hottest angle on the show.
11:40Night two, opening the show, because you know what they always say, if you don't main event go on last, you want to go first.
11:47Chris Jericho, famous for talking about that back when he and Kevin Owens had the friendship breakup,
11:53and they thought they were going to main event at WrestleMania, and then they thought, okay, well, fine, we'll get the first match,
11:57and instead they went on second, and it was such an insult.
11:59So, in that being said, the women, I don't have them headlining either night, but I want to put them in a prime spot.
12:04Tiffany Stratton versus Jade Cargill for the WWE Women's Championship to open night two,
12:11and at the end of the match, regardless of who wins, I think it should be Jade,
12:14but whoever wins, a Naomi cash-in and Naomi walking out with the WWE Women's Championship.
12:20Match two of night two for the Intercontinental Championship,
12:24Dominik Mysterio defends against AJ Styles and Finn Balor in a triple threat.
12:30Very similar to the Women's IC Championship, just a different night,
12:34and I think this is an opportunity for Dominik to either exercise all of his demons,
12:38including Finn Balor and AJ Styles, and go on to have that interesting interplay between he and Roxanne
12:44if they both walk around with Intercontinental Championship belts,
12:47or you change it up. Let AJ win the Intercontinental Championship.
12:51Let him do something his last couple years of being active.
12:53We talked last episode about his one-year contract extension.
12:56We don't know when that's up.
12:57I'd love to see him get the Intercontinental Championship one more time,
12:59but we'll have to wait and see how that plays out.
13:01Next match, match three of night two,
13:03Julia defending the Women's United States Championship
13:07against Zelina Vega, Chelsea Green, and Meechan.
13:10Women's fatal four-way.
13:11I think you've got to get the women on the card,
13:13and since you're not doing a ton with the Women's U.S. Championship
13:16at the Evolution pay-per-view,
13:18it has to be featured at SummerSlam, especially on a two-night event.
13:21So that's how I would get the championship on the card
13:24and give Julia an opportunity to obviously retain.
13:27The only person in the card that I would consider having go over Julia
13:31would be Chelsea Green because of all the hard work she's put in the last year.
13:34I think she should have kept the title much longer, and since she didn't,
13:37this would be a way to either give it back to her or have Julia defeat her at the end,
13:41which would in a way also still elevate Chelsea Green.
13:44My next match is a comparable one to the other match.
13:48I said this would be my throwaway if I had to throw away a match,
13:51but I can't envision a scenario where you have a SummerSlam without these four superstars,
13:56but the problem is I don't see a way to get them on the card any other way.
14:00This four-person, again, same stipulation, getting a shot at whatever championship for their brand,
14:05Randy Orton versus L.A. Knight versus Drew McIntyre versus Damian Priest,
14:10I get it. It's face heavy, but that's because I'm trying to get everybody on the card.
14:14I would do this for a shot at the world championship.
14:16Randy Orton, L.A. Knight, Drew McIntyre, Damian Priest, and honestly,
14:19I don't know who you have come out of this.
14:21If you're going to have... I give away my main event if I say that.
14:25I'll come back to this. We'll talk about this in a minute.
14:27If you have certain people win, I think you do certain things, so let's come back to that.
14:30The next match, match five, Street Profits defend the World Tag Team Championship,
14:35WWE Tag Team Championship against the Wyatt Six, Motor City Machine Guns, DIY Los Garzas,
14:39as well as Ray Phoenix and Andrade, who've been on a tear lately,
14:43and I think this would be an interesting opportunity to either put the championship on the Wyatt Six,
14:48who by then would deserve to win it if they're still doing what they're doing right now,
14:51or shake it up and give it to Ray Phoenix and Andrade.
14:54I think they'd be great ambassadors until you ever decide to reunite the Lucha Bros.
14:59If you're not going to do that before then, do it here. Let these two have the championship.
15:03But I think that you have to get the Tag Team Championship on there
15:06because they have booked that division so terribly lately. I hate it.
15:09This would be a way to feature that division.
15:11Match six, night two, for the Women's World Championship,
15:16Rhea Ripley, who I'm obviously predicting is going to win the championship at Evolution,
15:21defending against Stephanie Vakur.
15:23I think you do that and you have an opportunity for, and I think what should happen is,
15:28is when Io is defending the Women's Championship against Rhea Ripley,
15:33there should be some kind of interplay with Asuka.
15:36Because if you haven't noticed, I have not had Io on the show.
15:40Io would get involved in the Tag Team Championship at costing the Kabuki Warriors the championship,
15:46not necessarily in a heelish kind of way, in a supporting a friend that goes bad kind of way,
15:51to eventually set up the Asuka-Io match that I think everybody would like to see.
15:56And they kind of teased on Raw.
15:58I would love to see that, and I think this is a way we could get it there.
16:01So Rhea Ripley is the Women's Championship, defending against Stephanie Vakur.
16:04It's an opportunity because I think Vakur may actually come out of the pay-per-view,
16:08the Evolution, winning the Battle Royal and going to Paris and having her opportunity.
16:13I think we need to run it back if we do that.
16:15If she does not win the Battle Royal, this makes all the sense in the world.
16:18So that's what I would do with Rhea Ripley and the Women's World Championship.
16:22And my main event, the one that everybody sees coming,
16:24John Cena versus Cody Rhodes.
16:26There's a couple ways to book this.
16:27Do you do the double turn here?
16:29Have Cody go heel, Cena flip back to face?
16:31Not sure.
16:32Do we have, and this goes back to what I was talking about earlier,
16:35Randy Orton has to be on the show, but the match I booked earlier,
16:39again, if I was going to throw away a match, it would be that four-way.
16:41You could have him win, and then he gets an opportunity at the world champion,
16:45and he could cost Cody the championship to face Cena.
16:48He could cost Cena so that he would get a champ to face Cody,
16:52thinking he could defeat Cody easier.
16:54You could have him face, whatever.
16:56I think that's a way you could go with this.
16:58I don't really see a way for LA Knight to be in the world championship picture right now.
17:01Drew McIntyre, maybe he deserved it for all the great work he's done the last year.
17:05Damian Priest even would be great for it because he really, if you think about it,
17:10I don't think people look at him on the level with the others, but I think he's phenomenal.
17:15And why not give Damian Priest a feature position?
17:17But if I was booking it, I think what we'll end up seeing is Randy Orton win that fatal four-way
17:22if they were to book that, and him somehow getting involved in a John Cena-Cody Rhodes match.
17:26That's what I'm looking forward to seeing.
17:28What do you think of the card?
17:29What do you think of our predictions?
17:30This is a way too early guess about what they're going to do for the card at SummerSlam
17:35and predicting who's going to do what, where, why, and how.
17:37If you like these, do me a favor.
17:39Give us a comment.

17:54So if this is entertaining for you, if you like these predictions, if you want to go in
17:57and make comments, tell me other matches you think would be better for the card.
18:01Tell me which ones of my matches you would take out.
18:03If you don't like the two fatal four-ways, tell me that.
18:05Tell me how you would get those guys into the show, onto the card.
18:09Maybe take both of those out and put them into some kind of battle royal of some kind
18:13for some other stipulation.
18:14I don't know.
18:15But tell me what you would do in the comments.
18:17I'd appreciate to see your feedback.
18:19That's all the time we have for this episode.
