00:34According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the nation relies on imports for nearly half its refined copper, importing 810,000 metric tons in 2024.
00:44More than two-thirds of U.S. copper is mined in Arizona, where development of a major mine planned by Rio Tinto and BHP has been stalled for over a decade.
