00:49take syria back in 2015 russia helped syrian president assad win a brutal war

00:57but by 2024 things turned around turkey-backed rebel group made assad run away while russia was too

01:05busy in ukraine to help russia kept its bases but its power in the middle east looks much weaker now

01:14in armenia a close russian ally things went bad too when azerbaijan attacked and took nagorno-karabakh

01:23russia was supposed to help but did nothing feeling betrayed armenia turned to countries like france

01:31and india instead at the same time russia's own goal to stop nato from coming closer completely failed

01:40finland and sweden who had stayed neutral for decades joined nato after seeing russia invade ukraine

01:48this made nato's border with russia even longer the opposite of what putin wanted
