00:00You've described the situation as genocide, at least that's what you're quoted as having said in the past, do correct me if I'm wrong.
00:06Who bears responsibility for that genocide and what should happen to them?
00:11I think responsibility for genocide is principally the Israeli attack on the people of Palestine and Gaza.
00:18There's no question about that. There's enormous numbers of evidence and people, lawyers and others who come forward on that.
00:24There remains a dispute among lawyers, not with me, not for me, as to whether it's conclusive and only the International Court of Justice can say this.
00:36But the fact of the matter is, it's perfectly clear this is a genocidal war in Gaza and in the West Bank, increasingly, as you know.
00:46Now, what needs to be done about it, I think, is back where we started, is having a process of independent investigation and accountability and leading to indictments.
00:59It shouldn't be just a sort of matter of a topic of diplomatic discussion or diplomatic evasion, as is so often the case.
01:08It has to be one of an engagement.
01:11And why isn't that done? That's what I don't understand.
01:14Why don't we have governments in Europe and elsewhere saying we need an investigation, it should be independent, and we'll commission it.
