00:00If you don't like paying more for cars but still want to drive electric, then listen up, because the rules are about to change.

00:06The new law kills the $7,500 federal tax credit for new EVs, and $4,000 for used ones, starting September 30, 2025.

00:16That means after this date, electric vehicles could cost thousands more overnight.

00:21Plus, there's a new annual fee, $250 for EVs, $100 for hybrids.

00:26And it doesn't stop there. California and 11 other states lose their right to set stricter emissions rules, so zero emission mandates are out.

00:36Automakers are already canceling factory plans, and EV sales are predicted to drop from nearly half the market to just a quarter by 2030.

00:45So what should you do? If you want that tax break, buy before September 30.
