The French embassy in the US received Mr Alain Lamassoure, a European deputy who worked on the European Constitution, for a lecture untitled "Europe : Who is in charge ?". According to Mr Lamassoure, "Europe is changing and at last, Europe deserves its name politically speaking". His speech also dealt with significant crisis facing the UE as the reject of the European Constitution or the conflict in Georgia.
