The world pays tribute to Diogo Jota

Emotional tributes have been made by many of football's biggest names, following the shock death of Diogo Jota

00:07I mean, someone who's obviously very highly thought of off the pitch.

00:11It's just so sad, you know, but it's not what we can do now.

00:38Sort of one of those moments where you're hoping it's not true.

00:43I think that was probably the part that everyone was hoping that it was false news.

00:48But sadly, it's not.

00:51And it still proves that it's really not what can happen.

01:04It's a reminder for everyone, I think, for every sport, for every human being,

01:10that we don't know if tomorrow we'll be there.

01:14Just getting married, having his young children, you know, looking forward to all the great things

01:24that he was going to do here and in his life, and it's just so heartbreaking.

01:40Probably the most shocking death I've ever experienced, just to wake up.

01:51I think Diogo Jota would be the cause of probably four, at least four of them,

01:55which is amazing, really.

01:56And it shows the player, you know, when there was a big game, he would turn up.

02:00I had the opportunity to meet Diogo at the World Cup in Qatar a couple of years ago.

02:28In the world of football, we need to be close to the family, friends,

02:33all those who are more close and have a poor relationship.

02:38Diogo was what we all want to be.

02:42He was a reference for Portuguese football.

02:46Today is a really, really sad day

02:49because one of us, two of us, lost our lives.
