04:18And you can be in the back foot, too, if the guy is pressing forward, but the jab is the

05:00And also, you've got to find somebody who's willing to give him that test.
05:04So it's been hard to match him up.
05:06Well, Johnson is showing up in this fight right now with the high guard and throwing
05:12combination when he's able to do so.
05:14And, you know, he's landing some early on, earlier on.
05:18So, you know, he's a game fighter.
05:22He's smiling a little bit.
05:23He's talking a little bit.
05:24So after the first round, he feels maybe a little more comfortable.
05:27Yeah, that feeling out where you're figuring out what you're up against.

05:34This is where the development of a young fighter, I say that a lot, Nonito, where you want to
05:41test them, but you can't test them too hard because they've only had 14 rounds, right?
05:46You want to test them and see what you got, but you can't rush them.

05:50That was a good counter earlier from Eriarte, you know, with the left hook, and he did it
05:55again, but now because he's setting up his distance, you know, he's not coming in and
06:00pressing forward and smothering his punches.
06:01He's just, he's actually stepping back and countering.
06:04So he's landing those big shots.

06:07I have a feeling the corner was probably saying similar things you were saying and probably
06:11got him back on track going into the second round.

06:15And I like that little feint that he's doing and then throwing a jab after that.

09:52And that's one thing that he should be doing more often.
09:55You know, he's feinting here and there, his head movement, and he's keeping Idiarte thinking.

11:17And then consider the right hand over top as well, too.
11:19And that immobilizes his jab hand from countering left hook or anything like that.
11:26You throw that jab enough time, it'll set up everything else as well.

20:17But then in the third round, not very good.
20:20And then the very last round, he's on the ropes for a minute and a half at least, not very good.
20:24If he keeps going back to the ropes for around six, seven, eight, I think Joel's going to
20:27find a way to put him out of there.

20:49But when Johnson moves around and confuses Eriarte with the jab and just the movement,
20:55it slows the fight down.
20:57But if he doesn't do it, then that's when Eriarte comes in and just smother and just make
21:03the fight happen for him to tire out Johnson.
21:06Yeah, that's when Kevin Johnson's corner, I'm like, stay off the ropes.
21:08He spent so much energy on the ropes in there.
21:10Spend that energy staying off the ropes and moving around the ring.
21:13Spend that energy in that department rather than fighting off the ropes.

22:00But we haven't been able to see it in the seven fights because they've been ending early.
22:03But this is the first time we actually get to see some of his boxing acumen.
22:06He already landed that jabbed the body, ran over top this round.
22:09I'd love for him to give it a go again this round, set it up.
22:11I'd love for him to try that specific combination again.
22:15And that's pretty much what he needs to do because if you're going to aim for the head and the guy's moving his head, guess what?
22:22Sometimes you might hit.
22:23A lot of times you might miss.
22:26But if you're setting up either in the chest or in the body shot with that jab, you're going to land it every single time.
22:32And as you're progressing in your career, realizing that these veteran fighters know how to roll with punches, know how to absorb the big shots that somebody in your early career, you hit them once and they're going down.
22:44Johnson is in that case.
22:45He's in that shoulder roll stance.
22:47Now, if he times the right hand and rolls it, okay.
22:49But, hey, if he doesn't time that right hand and gets hip flushed, it might be night-night.
22:54I mean, you see what Shikor Shea Mosley did at Flamingo, they almost put him down with that specific combo.
22:58So that combo isn't answered to that style if they're caught slacking.
23:03A hundred percent when it comes down to that.
23:06Because a lot of people don't think that just because you got hit with the body, they think that you're far away with your head.
23:12But sometimes when it's quick enough, you're going to get hit with it.
