00:00to be honest I don't think we actually mentally came prepared that this was
00:15going to be so much so hot in Paris because we had booked the tickets much
00:19well in advance but right now in terms of the heat here we are walking in the
00:24shade we try to use the underground as much as possible that the train just to
00:29avoid the heat and trying to run into museums as much as possible that's what
00:33we are doing right now
00:34I don't want to be in the fridge, not in the congélateur
00:38So, I'm not going to lie to you, I'm going to be in the fridge
00:41we drink a lot of water, we sleep almost at night
00:47we sleep almost at night and honestly it's hot
00:50I don't know how many people who are older or babies do it but I really think about them
00:59I'm not going to lie to you, I mean it's really cold, too cold, too cold, too cold
01:13The problem is how hard it is in distance because a few days
01:17but my son is born in the 2003 that was one of the most infernal ones
01:21if I was there, I think, but in the middle it's hard, especially in the night
01:27It kills me when I'm in London, I'm sweating, you know, I've had three, four, five litres already this morning
01:47and it's just killing me the heat, I can't take it because I'm from Cumbria
01:52I'm not used to it, I've been here four years, the first year I came here it was unbelievably hot
01:58I'm surprised there's not more air conditioning in residential places
02:02I can deal with it though, I mean, it's hot though
02:05Climate change does worry me a lot and certainly we've seen, I've been a Londoner for many decades now
02:10and certainly I think it has got worse
02:12This particular heat wave is not actually the worst that we've experienced here in London
02:18It's quite short, so it's not too bad, but yeah, generally speaking, yeah, it is quite worrying
02:23Now we are seeing that in June 2025 the average temperature of the Mediterranean Sea
02:38is three to six degrees greater than what is normal for this time of year
02:46Unfortunately, this is the outcome of a very warm first six months of 2025
02:56also following record temperatures for the entire 2024
03:03and since the sea is a little slow, let's say, to react
03:08we are seeing this change in June 2025
03:13Everybody is at risk
03:18If you go out without water in the middle of the day to do jogging, have a bike ride
03:24you will probably have severe health problems or even die
03:29The frequency and intensity of extreme heat events is increasing in Europe
03:34and by 2050 about half the European population may be exposed to high or very high risk of heat stress during summer
03:44Why is it happening? Various reasons
03:47One of them is that sea surface temperatures in the Mediterranean are exceptionally high for this time of year
03:54It's the equivalent of a land heat wave
