00:00As a Star Trek fan, I was pleasantly surprised to see Gates McFadden is voicing Mother Ascani.

00:05What made her such a good fit for the role?

00:08I mean, you hear it in her voice.

00:10I didn't realize that I was always hearing Gates McFadden's voice with any Mother Ascani stuff,

00:15any sort of old Rachel Summer stuff.

00:18I don't remember whose idea it was.

00:20I'm pretty sure it was most likely Bo's idea.

00:23But we reached out to her, and it was almost like a resounding yes.

00:27Like, yes, I want to come play in the sandbox.

00:29And, dude, she delivered.

00:33I mean, you know, her performances, albeit brief, in that ending,

00:36like, she wanted to do Mother Ascani justice, and that was cool.

00:39Like, man, Star Trek wants to do X-Men justice.

00:42We're getting paid to be here right now?

00:44This is cool.

00:46You know, so, like, it was a real joy and pleasure for that.

00:50And any sort of fan of Rachel Summers or Mother Ascani in that, you know, right,

00:56I look forward to what they want to look at in Season 2.
