Trump Announced Iran-Israel Ceasefire Appears To Break

A short-lived Iran-Israel ceasefire appeared to be breaking after Israel accused Iran of violating it, a charge Iran denies. It comes after Iran launched a volley of missiles at an U.S. air base in Qatar. Iran says the attack is retaliation for U.S. strikes on its nuclear facilities. U.S. officials report intercepting 13 of the 14 missiles, with no injuries.

00:00Iran launches missiles against the U.S. military.

00:10The Al-Udeid Air Base in Qatar, one of the largest U.S. bases in the region, was the target.

00:16Iran says it's retaliation for the U.S. joining Israel's strikes on its nuclear facilities on Sunday.

00:25U.S. officials report 13 out of 14 missiles were intercepted.

00:30And no injuries were reported. Qatar condemned the attack.

00:35The state of Qatar condemns in the strongest terms the Iranian missile attack on the Qatari Al-Udeid Air Base.

00:41This attack represents a flagrant violation of Qatar's sovereignty and contravenes the principles of good neighborliness.

00:47U.S. President Donald Trump downplayed the attack, however, even thanking Iran for warning the U.S. before the strikes.

00:54Later saying that Israel and Iran had agreed to a ceasefire to be implemented within 24 hours.

01:04But Iran seemed to dispute Trump's claim.

01:07Its foreign minister, currently in Moscow for talks with Russia, said that no ceasefire was agreed to.

01:13But left open the possibility of one if Israel ceases its attacks.

01:21Some in Iran celebrated the attack on the U.S. and called for more.

01:25We aren't satisfied with the number of missiles fired.

01:30It was too few.

01:31We want the Iranian armed forces to fire many more.

01:34All the Americans in the Middle East, all their military personnel, should be sent back in coffins.

01:39And in my opinion, it was far too few.

01:41While in Israel, air raid sirens continued to ring into the morning, leaving the state of the ceasefire in question.

01:53With both sides on high alert, the region is bracing for what's next.
