Vincent Kompany believes the Club World Cup's schedule is ignoring scientific research on recovery for players

00:00In the end, I think there's a counter-argument as well that for the next season we will have

00:05almost no preparation. I mean, if you look at all the scientific research around what is the

00:11right type of preparation to prepare a new season, I mean, we are just going, we're throwing the

00:17book away and we're just going to start the new season. With all the pressures that you have to

00:22win every game as well. So I think in that sense there's two sides to the argument. We already

00:28know each other. And so it's a totally new experience to go and then spend another three,

00:33four, five, six weeks together for a tournament. But it's got its advantages as well because

00:40we're working on details, whereas in national teams you're working on basics. And that's why

00:49yeah, it's an interesting experience.
