00:00Here we go, eyes are down, the gate's down and we're racing him at Lee Basin and MXGP, what a start from Coonan again, he is red hot out of the gate, he's going to get the foxhole shot, the teenagers into the front, Factory Fantic coming through in second place, I think it may well be Bonacorsi, or is it Koldenhoff, it could well be Koldenhoff, through to third place is Fernandez on the HRC Honda,
00:29then we've got Jeffrey Hurlings, Fevra there as well, Kai Rowley's made a really good start, the Factory Ducati, he's in the thick of the action, good to see him there, gets away very well indeed, he's alongside Roman Fevra at this early stage, it is Koldenhoff in second place, but Coonan with a stunning start, he hits the front, he's thrown down the gauntlet to Hurlings and particularly Fevra,
00:56Fevra's right back, behind Kai Rowley in sixth place, with work to do, through the wave section on the first lap, slipping conditions, we saw Koldenhoff make a couple of mistakes, Jeffrey Hurlings with Kai Rowley really in a close attendance, riding a Stormer in the first lap,
01:19still knows how to ride the bike, that's for sure, but Lucas Coonan, who's had a terrific run of form, is pulling away out in front, he's nearly got two seconds over Koldenhoff,
01:33Fernandes back in third place, and Fevra beginning to find a little bit of speed, and he's putting pressure on Tony Kai Rowley, who they have,
01:48yeah, he just spun up there out of the corner, and Fevra was able to slip by quite nicely, and he moved for the Frenchman, championship leader through,
01:57and he moves into fifth place, and he's got Hurlings in his sight, just see you there, Kai Rowley gets out of the rut, slippery, spins up, loses drive, and that allows Fevra through,
02:12Isaac Gifting in it as well, Gifting's done well to get across from the outside gate, and Kai Rowley under a lot of pressure, just allowing Gifting to come through,
02:22and Kai Rowley just feeling his knee a touch, pulling tear-offs, just slipping down the order a touch, after a really terrific start,
02:37Coonan away, two and a half seconds in front of Koldenhoff, Fernandes back in third place, Hurlings going forward in fourth, with Fevra behind him,
02:46Long way to go, of course, all sorts could happen, and Gifting, Isaac Gifting again, the Swedish rider, having a strong performance on the JK Racing Yamaha,
02:57fair play to him, 5-1-7, gets the better of Kai Rowley, Kai Rowley has regrouped a touch, I wonder whether he was just struggling for vision,
03:05pulled a few tear-offs, looks like he's got his mojo back,
03:10Top 10, it's rounded out by Brian Bogers and Alberto Ferrato, he's into 10th place, Jeremy Seewa on the 2nd factory,
03:24Ducati is down in 11th, so Kai Rowley in his 2nd Grand Prix of the season, well and truly in the top 10, he's in 7th place, fair play to him,
03:33I'm looking at the factory Ducati of Jeremy Seewa, back down in 11th place, Seewa, with a lot of work to be done,
03:52looking further down the order with Vandornik, number 32, being chased hard by Jan Plansar,
03:59who has another rider that is beginning to find some confidence on the JP253 KTM,
04:09he's beginning to make his presence felt,
04:15but the leader is 2.5 seconds away in front of Koldenhoff, no change there for the first two,
04:21Fernandes back in 3rd place, 5 seconds behind,
04:24Hurlings, going along in 4th place, with Roman Febbrau about,
04:29approximately just over a second behind Hurlings,
04:32might well be some interesting action between those two very shortly,
04:36but, I must say, I can't,
04:37I can't say enough how well Isaac Gifting is doing for
04:42a smaller team,
04:44an experienced team nonetheless,
04:45but Isaac Gifting is doing a fine job
04:48with a JK Racing Yamaha outfit,
04:52going along well,
04:53holding his own here in MXGP race number one,
04:5625 minutes to go.
04:59We just saw Isaac Gifting make a nice move on Cairoli there for P6,
05:04so far so good,
05:05what's his feedback been about this track?
05:07Yeah, for sure he likes the track,
05:08he's enjoying it all weekend long,
05:10the only thing,
05:11we had a small issue in training back in Italy,
05:14with a road bicycle,
05:15so he's missing a lot of skin,
05:18so it's kind of painful for him,
05:20but, yeah,
05:21so we weren't sure before this weekend if we could take part,
05:24but, yeah,
05:25so,
05:26with all the circumstances,
05:27it's going good,
05:29so,
05:30we will see how the race goes on,
05:32but, yeah,
05:32positive for the moment.
05:34Thank you very much.
05:36Good to hear from the team,
05:38but there's drama at the front,
05:40Lucas Coonan has made a mistake,
05:42and it's changed,
05:42all changed,
05:44while we were hearing from Isaac Gifting's team,
05:47Koldenhoff is back to the front,
05:49here we see the moment for Lucas Coonan,
05:52he leads on the 259,
05:54just,
05:55just slipping off the side of the bike,
05:57recovers very quickly,
05:58but not in time to hold on to the lead,
06:01and Glenn Koldenhoff on the factory fan tickets through,
06:05and fires himself to the front,
06:07work to be done for Lucas Coonan.
06:14Geoffrey Hurlings,
06:24a little further back,
06:26with Roma Febvre giving chase as well,
06:28in fourth and fifth,
06:29Fernandes in third on the Honda,
06:31and there's Will here in the first race,
06:38there we see him,
06:38number 70 on the HRC Honda,
06:41Febvre a little further back behind,
06:43but Koldenhoff away sharply,
06:45he's got the foxhole shot,
06:47excuse me,
06:48it wasn't the foxhole shot for Koldenhoff,
06:50he got the whole shot yesterday,
06:51Koldenhoff,
06:52it was Coonan who got the whole shot here this afternoon,
06:55oh,
06:55drama,
06:56drama,
06:58a little bit further down,
06:59that seawar has got off the side of the factory,
07:01with a big tank slapper,
07:03off the factory Ducati,
07:05recovers fairly quickly,
07:06but that shallow wave section,
07:09catching him out,
07:12early part of the lap,
07:14has got to recover,
07:15but the other factory Ducati,
07:17and Toni Kairoli going along pretty nicely,
07:20in front of,
07:21Verlander in 8th place,
07:23Bogus in 9th,
07:24and Ferrado in 10th,
07:26that's your top 10,
07:27but Koldenhoff still leading,
07:29just over a second front,
07:30of Lucas Coonan,
07:31who you sense,
07:32will have the pace to get back to Koldenhoff,
07:35keep an eye on that,
07:36but Fernandes is having a great run in 3rd place,
07:40but no change,
07:41Herlinds is 6 seconds behind the leader at this stage,
07:44and a further second back is Roman Febvre,
07:47they haven't really made their moves yet,
07:49there's the leader,
07:52Koldenhoff,
07:53being chased hard by Koonan,
07:54Koonan will be frustrated,
07:56just slipping off the bike,
07:58we saw with Oliver in the MX2 race,
08:01he slipped off the bike,
08:02so did Adamo,
08:03very easily done on this hard,
08:06rock hard track,
08:07with the watering,
08:09to keep the dust down,
08:11but Koldenhoff riding,
08:13a lovely race in front,
08:14no mistakes from him,
08:15Fernandes having a fabulous run,
08:17not too far away in 3rd place,
08:19one way to go,
08:22over 21 minutes plus 2 laps,
08:24early stages of the first MXGP race here,
08:27this afternoon,
08:28Koonan in Natalie Basin,
08:31Koldenhoff who at the age of 34 is going along very well,
08:44Louis,
08:45Glenn Koldenhoff won an overall here in his MX2 days,
08:48he's taken the lead,
08:50how's he feeling,
08:51and will he be able to withstand the pressure from Koonan?
08:54Yeah,
08:54it's still early in the race,
08:56but he's feeling really good all weekend,
08:59but also last week,
09:01he did the really proper training,
09:03even he trained on the 250 last week,
09:05so to get the speed,
09:06the corner speed,
09:07and actually,
09:09he really liked this track,
09:10and so,
09:11let's see.
09:12Bonaco,
09:13Bonacorsi,
09:14Bogers,
09:15how are they feeling?
09:16Yeah,
09:16yesterday with Bona,
09:17we changed afterwards,
09:20we changed a little bit the bike,
09:22let's say,
09:22the bike setting,
09:23but today it looks quite good,
09:25but he had,
09:26let's say,
09:27a bad gate pick,
09:28and Brian did quite well yesterday,
09:30so it's going quite okay.
09:33Best of luck to the team,
09:33thank you, Louis.
09:37So big smiles in the factory,
09:39Fantic cab,
09:40they're leading the way,
09:42Glenn Koldenhoff,
09:43having a terrific run in front,
09:45Koonen a second and a bit behind,
09:49quite managed to close back in,
09:52and Koldenhoff is holding a really strong pace
09:55at this early stage,
09:5620 minutes plus two laps to go,
09:58and the Dutchman keep the Belgian behind,
10:02here comes some of the big hitters,
10:04Herlings who has won the last two Grand Prix's,
10:08unbeaten in Lapier,
10:09tremendous performance,
10:11Fevera,
10:12just lurking there,
10:14back in fifth place,
10:16but he'll be looking for more,
10:17because Koonen,
10:18his closest rival in the championship,
10:20is going to take a chip away at the lead again,
10:2422 points on the cards for Koonen,
10:26right now,
10:2716 potentially for Fevera,
10:32Fevera will want to,
10:34get the better of Herlings if he can,
10:37looking in at the start,
10:38Lucas Koonen,
10:39as we've seen on many occasions,
10:41he is fabulous away from the start,
10:43comfortably gets the foxhole shot,
10:46coming through in the second place,
10:47but he played a kite roller,
10:49he went right round the outside,
10:51and winding it on,
10:53terrific first corner from him,
10:55and see how wide he goes,
10:56he pretty much,
10:57near enough goes off the track there,
10:59he does indeed,
11:00but he's very much,
11:02in the thick of the action,
11:03now Koonen,
11:04who has slipped,
11:05a little further away,
11:06there's no doubt that,
11:07Glenn Koldenhoff is,
11:09running at a good pace here,
11:13he's making,
11:15the youngster,
11:16that section of track is awkward,
11:18and where they've watered it,
11:20the bike,
11:20if it just gets a little out of shape,
11:22it can,
11:22spit you off very easily indeed,
11:25two seconds is the lead to Koldenhoff,
11:28Fernandes back in third place,
11:29no change with Hurlings,
11:32and Febbra,
11:34sort of fluctuating,
11:35between a second,
11:36and a second and a half,
11:38between Hurlings and Febbra.
11:42Oh, Gifling's coming back,
11:44Colerone is from back,
11:46oh man,
11:46this is proper racing,
11:47I bet he's loving this.
11:49and Koldenhoff leading the way,
11:55coming to the end of land number five,
11:58lovely ride from him,
12:00Koonen has closed a touch,
12:02through the last corner,
12:04up over the finish,
12:07monster energy jump,
12:08over the tabletop,
12:09that follows shortly,
12:10Isaac Gifting,
12:13and Tony Cairoli,
12:14very much in the thick of the action as well,
12:17and Cairoli,
12:18very nearly getting the better of,
12:20the Swedish rider,
12:23not quite,
12:23Calvin Verlanderan lurking as well,
12:26back in eighth place,
12:27so good action here,
12:28and Tony Cairoli,
12:29riding strongly at this stage.
12:31Cairoli in seventh place,
12:42and can't relax,
12:44slowing a touch,
12:46pace of the race,
12:47but here comes Hurlings,
12:48now Hurlings has really closed in,
12:50rapidly into Fernandes,
12:52on the Honda,
12:53and is this the moment,
12:55as we approach the midway point,
12:57of the first MXG pre-race,
12:58that Hurlings is just going to pick the pace up,
13:01and put the hammer down,
13:02the bullet,
13:03on the move,
13:04you would suggest,
13:05close right in on Fernandes,
13:06Fernandes in third,
13:08Hurlings looking for better,
13:09he's dragging Febbra with him,
13:14Cairoli just,
13:15quite sure,
13:21what's gone on with Cairoli,
13:25whether he has a problem,
13:26or whether he's not feeling it out there,
13:29it's a shame if he has to pull in,
13:34but oh,
13:35what a move from Hurlings,
13:36very nearly threw it away,
13:37but he threw into third place,
13:39Jeffrey Hurlings,
13:40I said he was on the move,
13:42and he was on the move in some style,
13:47charged up the inside of Fernandes,
13:49and now Roman Febbra,
13:50he will want to charge through as well,
13:52won't want to see Hurlings disappear,
13:55he won't want to be held up by Fernandes,
13:59Lukas Kunin a second behind Goldnov,
14:01and this race is warming up really nicely,
14:04Hurlings on the move,
14:06he's about three and a half seconds behind second place,
14:10Kunin,
14:11there's over 15 minutes plus two laps to go,
14:15so plenty still to happen here in the first MXGP race,
14:19there's not too far between them,
14:25Kunin trying desperately to close back in,
14:28on Glenn Goldnov,
14:29who's having a fabulous run out in front,
14:31Kunin was in front,
14:32but slipped off the bike,
14:35regathered himself,
14:36but subsequently has been approximately about a second,
14:40a second and a half behind Goldnov,
14:42he's riding strongly in front,
14:45then we've got third,
14:48fourth and fifth,
14:50Everett,
14:51we'll see his lead reduce in the championship,
14:56if it stays this way,
14:58and I'm sure he'll be very keen to get the ball,
15:00oh what's going on there,
15:03quite sure whether we saw a rider off,
15:05yeah,
15:06Iago Gerds,
15:07not having a great season,
15:09and a winner here last year in MX2,
15:11but it hasn't been his race here,
15:16Jeffrey Hurlings pushing on,
15:18can he close into Lukas Kunin,
15:21he'll be trying hard to,
15:23terrific return to form for the Dutchman,
15:26and Roman Fevra working hard as ever,
15:29trying to get the better of Fernandes,
15:32he's got the pace,
15:33can't be too much longer before he finds his way through,
15:48Fernandes in fourth place,
15:51Hurlings has moved into third,
15:53Fevra back in fifth place,
15:55and Fevra has got work to do,
15:57with Kunin in second place,
16:00but Glenn Koldenhoff is riding a fabulous race,
16:03he's rock solid out in front,
16:04Kunin solid in second place,
16:07Hurlings pushing on,
16:10trying to get to Lukas Kunin,
16:12this is building up to be quite a finish,
16:14here in the first race,
16:16Fernandes is riding really nicely,
16:18in fourth place,
16:19just the sole representative from Honda HRC and MXGP,
16:25Everett with the handguards on,
16:31it's stony,
16:31flinty ground,
16:33with chalk underneath,
16:35that's why it's a little precarious at times,
16:37track has improved in MXGP,
16:39it was really tricky in MX2,
16:42where they'd watered it very heavily,
16:44these first five have pulled well away,
16:48gifting back in sixth place,
16:49Valandran in seventh,
16:50Cairoli's still going,
16:52in eighth,
16:53Bogus in ninth,
16:54and Ferrato,
16:55that rounds out your top ten,
16:57in the opening race of MXGP,
16:58here in Matley Basin,
16:59what a track,
17:00what a viewing track,
17:01Hurlings is moving in rapidly,
17:04on Lukas Kunin,
17:06here he comes,
17:08took a few laps,
17:09just to build into the race,
17:12find his rhythm,
17:13Kunin,
17:14who got the foxhole shot,
17:16slipped off the bike,
17:16has been then,
17:18in second place subsequently,
17:21but this move from Jeffrey Hurlings,
17:24bit wild,
17:25but crikey,
17:27he made it work,
17:28hustles that KTM,
17:29the Red Bull KTM,
17:30past the factory Honda,
17:32brilliant stuff,
17:33great to see,
17:34now the battle on for second and third,
17:36and Hurlings has closed in rapidly,
17:39to Lukas Kunin,
17:41Red Bull KTM's in second and third place,
17:43with the factory Fantic out in front,
17:46and Jeffrey Hurlings,
17:47gotta believe,
17:48is looking for a win here,
17:49in the UK,
17:51it's won here five times before,
17:53can he make it six here this afternoon,
17:57there's nothing to choose between,
17:58the rookie,
18:00and the experienced man,
18:02who's back on top form,
18:03in Hurlings,
18:04and complete number eight,
18:13and complete number eight,
18:13and Kunin under a lot of pressure,
18:17didn't look completely comfortable,
18:19in the very hard practice conditions yesterday,
18:22but the fast starting Lukas Kunin is having a good run,
18:26but he's coming under a lot of pressure,
18:29Febvre hasn't been able to get the better of Fernandes,
18:31and that is not good news for the Frenchman,
18:34the championship leader,
18:35he could do with getting the better of Fernandes,
18:38and following Hurlings through,
18:39now here comes Hurlings,
18:40and he's pretty much gifted second place,
18:43didn't have to work too hard in the end,
18:45Jeffrey Hurlings has got himself through in the second place,
18:50and Lukas Kunin just losing his rhythm momentarily,
18:54and didn't fight too hard to resist that challenge,
18:58from Hurlings,
18:59and Hurlings now will be setting after Glenn Coldenhoff,
19:02and Wilandrin,
19:06number 10 on the Monster Energy Yamaha,
19:10chasing the JK Racing Yamaha of Isaac Gifting,
19:15this is a battle for 6th and 7th,
19:18Gifting round the outside with Wilandrin,
19:24running the shorter route,
19:25will he get the better?
19:26Not quite sure,
19:27now we're back with the riders a little further up the order,
19:30Fevera,
19:31we're looking at the back of him from the drone,
19:33can he get up the inside?
19:34He does,
19:35Fernandes just losing his momentum momentarily,
19:38and finally now,
19:39that's good news for Fevera,
19:41because he will now have Lukas Kunin in his sights,
19:44Kunin appears to have slowed,
19:47quite significantly,
19:51and he's dropped away from Hurlings,
19:54and Fernandes is now behind Fevera,
19:58and wonder whether,
20:00Lukas Kunin is struggling with arm pump,
20:04he had it a few rounds ago,
20:06because his pace has slowed,
20:09and Roman Fevera is closing in,
20:13or has he made another mistake?
20:15Not quite sure.
20:18There we see,
20:19we've seen that on several occasions,
20:21where you just spin up momentarily on the chalk,
20:23when you go through the surface,
20:25and lose momentum,
20:26and Roman Fevera was able to pounce,
20:29and move through into fourth place.
20:35Under ten minutes to go,
20:37into lap number ten.
20:39Holtenhoff with 2.7 lead over Geoffrey Hurlings,
20:46Lukas Kunin back in third place,
20:49Fevera has moved into fourth,
20:51these two lads,
20:53the two Yamahas,
20:54with Valandran getting the better of gifting,
20:56round the outside,
20:57the Munster Energy rider,
21:01getting the better of gifting,
21:04Valandran through into sixth place,
21:06nice move.
21:10Holtenhoff still in front,
21:12Geoffrey Hurlings having a terrific run,
21:14moves into second place,
21:15but I must say,
21:16Glenn Coltenhoff is setting a solid,
21:20solid place in front,
21:21making Hurlings work.
21:23There's Kunin in the background,
21:25chased hard by Glenn Coltenhoff,
21:28and Roman Fevera back in fifth place,
21:30but Hurlings is looking for another win,
21:33he really has got the bit between his teeth,
21:35Geoffrey Hurlings,
21:36unbeaten two weeks ago,
21:39won,
21:39won yesterday in the qualifying race,
21:42and he wants to win the first race,
21:43here this afternoon in MXGP.
21:55Holtenhoff beginning to feel the pressure,
21:57because he's going to have company very soon,
22:00in the shape of Hurlings,
22:02on the KTM.
22:08He's closing in rapidly.
22:11Mike Rowley,
22:12who has regrouped Cairoli,
22:15and he's got around the outside of Isaac Gifting,
22:17so Cairoli now back into seventh place.
22:20It's great showing from the veteran,
22:22the nine-time world champion,
22:24fabulous stuff from the factory,
22:26Ducati here in Mattelie Basin.
22:28Now the battle for the lead is red hot,
22:31it's just half a second between the front two,
22:34and Hurlings is looking very dangerous,
22:36and it's very threatening indeed.
22:38Can't believe that it's going to be too much longer before he gets the better of Goldenhoff.
22:45Goldenhoff is riding a sterling race in front,
22:47but Geoffrey Hurlings has come from fifth place,
22:51made his way into second,
22:52and the relentless pace of Geoffrey Hurlings
22:56is evident here again in the UK.
22:59Prudan is regrouped and regathered.
23:07Harry Coister's the factory Fantic team manager looking on.
23:12He'll be urging his man on,
23:15but he's riding very well,
23:17calmly composed,
23:18which you would expect.
23:20The immaculate Glenn Coldenhoff on the factory Fantic,
23:24riding a stormer here.
23:26We're getting to the latter stages,
23:29and Coldenhoff has responded,
23:31and he's moved a little further away,
23:34over a second and a half.
23:37Coonan has got going as well.
23:38Looked like...
23:39Ah, that's a shame.
23:41What a shame for Gifting.
23:42Was having a terrific run,
23:44just gets off the bike.
23:46Slips down the order.
23:50But the two at the front
23:51are going along really nicely indeed.
23:57Goldenhoff has been the leader of this race
23:59since it was handed to him
24:00when Lucas Coonan slipped off the bike,
24:02but there is not a lot to choose
24:04between the front three.
24:06Febbra hasn't really been able to go with Coonan.
24:08I thought for a moment
24:09it looked like Febbra was going to get to Lucas Coonan,
24:12but Febbra has actually dropped further back.
24:15Not good news for the championship leader,
24:18but the battle for the win
24:19is very much on here
24:21in the first race.
24:22It's a lap number 12.
24:36That's the stages of the first race.
24:38Five laps to go.
24:40Pit lane.
24:42Plenty of encouragement
24:42for the riders.
24:44Of course there is.
24:44Glenn Coltenhoff.
24:48Can he resist this charge from Hurlings?
24:51He's done remarkably well so far.
24:54Hiding a storm.
24:55Can't make a mistake now.
24:56If he does, Hurlings will be through.
25:01The track's better to race on.
25:03Not as slippery,
25:04not quite as precarious.
25:06It's almost better being a touch drier here
25:08when they water it on top of that surface.
25:11You can see there
25:11foot off the footrest
25:13when Jeffrey Hurlings just winds it on.
25:16Loses a bit of momentum.
25:17Now is he going to quad it
25:18or is it just going to be a triple?
25:19Is he going to triple it?
25:20And then up.
25:21Didn't get the run out of that left-hander
25:23at the top of the hill.
25:25Through the city wave section again.
25:33Rock solid.
25:34Coltenhoff in front.
25:35Making Hurlings work very hard to get to him.
25:37He has been within half a second at times
25:40but so far this man has resisted the challenge.
25:45There's Lucas Coonan
25:46who appears to have got a second win.
25:49I'm quite sure what went on.
25:50We might well find out in due course
25:52while he just lost his momentum momentarily.
25:55But for Glenn Coltenhoff
25:57this is the ride of the season so far.
26:00He's had some good results.
26:01He's been on the podium more than once.
26:03He's had a great run of form.
26:05Lies in third place in the championship.
26:07He's a long way behind in the points tally
26:09in third place.
26:11But nonetheless he's having a great season
26:13for the team
26:14and for himself personally of course.
26:17And he leads the way
26:18into lap number 13.
26:21Can Hurlings do anything about Coltenhoff?
26:31Coonan back in third place.
26:33Not too far away.
26:35Federer's the one that hasn't been quite able
26:37to maintain the pace.
26:43That was earlier on in the race
26:44when he was out in front.
26:46Lucas Coonan and you see
26:47Coltenhoff just inherits the lead
26:49and from that moment on
26:51Coltenhoff has maintained a terrific pace
26:55out in front.
26:56But the battle continues
26:58with just over three minutes to go.
27:08First three locked together.
27:10Coonan coming back at Hurlings.
27:12That could be quite a scrap
27:15for second and third
27:15with Lucas Coonan
27:17without doubt
27:19he's giving it everything he can
27:21here to try and grab as many points
27:23back off of Federer.
27:25Federer coming through
27:26into fourth place.
27:28Drama for Hurlings.
27:29Hurlings has put it on the floor.
27:32Can you believe it?
27:33And the clock's ticking down.
27:35There's going to be
27:35hard work for
27:37Hurlings to recover.
27:39Coonan now inherent second place.
27:42Coltenhoff out in front.
27:45See exactly what happens here.
27:49Yeah, just gets locked in the rut.
27:52Feet come off the foot pegs
27:54and he drops the bike.
27:57Yeah, front wheel just tucking.
28:00Frustration for Hurlings.
28:02Picks the bike up.
28:04He's back in the race
28:05but has dropped back.
28:09Whether he's behind Federer or not
28:11I'm not quite sure.
28:15Might well be he is.
28:17Federer has inherited third place.
28:20Coonan into second place.
28:22No change for the leader of course
28:24with Glenn Coltenhoff
28:24but for that man
28:25who was
28:26going along very nicely
28:28in second place
28:29has dropped a couple of places.
28:34Glenn Coltenhoff is looking like a winner.
28:36He's got a three and a half
28:37second point lead
28:38and the man on the factory
28:40Fantic is riding
28:41an absolutely
28:42master class of a race
28:44here in Matley Basin
28:45and MXGP race number one.
28:47Going to be his best result
28:48of the season
28:49and he will be
28:51very much aware of that.
28:54Bit of good fortune
28:55for Febbra.
28:56It stays this way.
28:57going to pick up the 20 points
29:01and limit the damage
29:02to just two points
29:03that's the advantage
29:05for Coonan
29:07in second place.
29:10Coltenhoff a nearly
29:11a three second lead.
29:12It's looking very good
29:13for the Dutchman
29:15out in front
29:15who has been around
29:18for an awful long time
29:19and looks after himself.
29:21I mean his fitness
29:22his nutrition
29:23is just outstanding
29:25and he has been outstanding
29:27here in this race.
29:30Quading up through
29:32the middle part of the track.
29:34Impressive indeed.
29:35But I'm not sure
29:37he's going to be able
29:38to get to Lucas Coonan
29:39who has
29:40as I say momentarily
29:41looked like he lost
29:42a bit of momentum
29:43two or three laps back
29:45but has regrouped
29:48and is now maintaining
29:50a solid second place.
29:52In the context
29:53of the championship
29:54Coltenhoff winning
29:54is not too detrimental
29:56to the two riders
29:57behind him.
29:58But for him personally
29:59this is going to be
30:00an absolute highlight.
30:01The man who's been
30:02around a long time
30:03is at the veteran stage
30:05of his career.
30:06He's riding for a team
30:08that looks like
30:08they've got a really
30:09good feel factor
30:10about them.
30:10the Fantry Fantic team
30:14and they are doing
30:15a marvellous job
30:16and Coltenhoff has ridden
30:18and superbly well.
30:22So a couple of laps
30:24to go for Coltenhoff
30:25just needs to keep
30:26it upright
30:27and the lead
30:28and the win
30:29could just be his.
30:31Coonan with two seconds
30:32back in second place
30:34can he do anything
30:34about Coltenhoff?
30:36Can he apply any pressure
30:37in these final two laps
30:38for the first race
30:40for the MXG boys?
30:41He's there
30:42he's coming
30:42he's going to try
30:44and snatch the victory
30:44away from Coltenhoff
30:46and break his heart.
30:48The teenager
30:49up against the veteran
30:50what way would it go?
31:02See how hard
31:03Coonan's working
31:03a little bit untidy
31:05at times
31:05but he's decided
31:08to give it everything
31:10Febvre is a fair way
31:12back in third place
31:13I feel that he
31:15has settled
31:15for third place
31:17but he won't want
31:18to see
31:19Lucas Coonan win
31:20and drag more points
31:22off of him.
31:24Coltenhoff
31:25with pressure
31:26at the very death
31:27here in the first race
31:29under two laps
31:34to go
31:34holding off
31:38a little untidy
31:39at the top
31:40of the hill
31:41Coonan
31:42pushing hard
31:43back marker
31:44coming up
31:45don't want to be
31:46balked here
31:47because
31:48Lucas Coonan
31:49has closed
31:50right in
31:51and will he break
31:53the
31:53Glenn Coltenhoff's
31:57heart here
31:57who has
31:58been in
32:00the lead
32:01for so long
32:01there's no doubt
32:05on this
32:06last lap
32:06and a bit
32:07it's going to have
32:08to find something
32:09a bit special
32:09because Coonan
32:10is going to
32:11give it his all
32:12grandstand finish
32:14here in the MXGP
32:15race number one
32:16fabulous action
32:17through the last corner
32:18here as we go
32:20into the last lap
32:21which way will it go
32:23one lap to go
32:24Coltenhoff out in front
32:25with less than a second
32:26over Lucas Coonan
32:28who's come in
32:29like a steam train
32:30in second place
32:31Federer back in third
32:33but the battle
32:34for the lead
32:34is on
32:35big time
32:36good exit
32:39out of that corner
32:41but Coonan
32:42certainly winding it on
32:44down pit lane
32:45for the final time
32:46Coltenhoff
32:48has got to find
32:49something pretty special
32:50on this last lap
32:51no mistakes
32:52can Illafor to make
32:54a mistake
32:54when you've been
32:55hunted down by
32:56the rookie of the
32:57class
32:58the man
32:58who is closing in
33:00on the championship
33:01league
33:01wants the 25 points
33:03Coonan
33:04Coltenhoff looks
33:05over his right shoulder
33:06didn't have to look
33:07far
33:07because Coonan
33:08is right there
33:09but so far
33:10in the first half
33:12of the last lap
33:13Coltenhoff
33:14has ridden out
33:15of the top draw
33:16no mistakes
33:18Len Coldnoff
33:28using all of his
33:29experience
33:30moment for Coonan
33:32back in second place
33:33just trying a little
33:35too hard
33:36front tire
33:36just gave up
33:37on him momentarily
33:38Coldnoff
33:39with a little bit
33:40of breathing space
33:41a second and a half
33:43over Coonan
33:44in second
33:44looks like
33:46it's going to go
33:47the way of the
33:47veteran on the
33:48factory fan tick
33:49Lucas Coonan
33:54a little bit
33:55out of shape
33:56into this wave
33:57section
33:58which has caused
33:58riders problems
33:59again there
34:00just
34:00we saw the
34:01action replay
34:02just moments
34:03and it's given
34:04the opportunity
34:05for Glenn Coldnoff
34:06to get a little bit
34:07of breathing space
34:08it's close
34:09it's awfully close
34:10time running out
34:12here we go
34:13into the very
34:13latter stages
34:14of the first
34:15MXGP race
34:16what a conclusion
34:17we're into
34:18the last right-hander
34:19and Glenn Coldnoff
34:21he comes through
34:23and he wins
34:24the opening race
34:25fabulous performance
34:26from the 34 year old
34:28and the factory
34:28fan tick
34:29how about that
34:30he will be
34:33just a bit
34:34race of the season
34:35for him
34:36Fevra coming
34:37through in third
34:37place
34:38every hurling's
34:42back in fourth
34:43place where he
34:44possibly could have
34:45been so much more
34:46for him
34:47but Coldnoff's
34:49performance just
34:50limits the damage
34:51for Roman Fevra
34:53Hurling's back in
34:54fourth
34:54Fernandes in fifth
34:55place
34:56Coldnoff will be
34:58beaming from ear
35:00to ear
35:00that was a
35:01terrific ride from
35:02him under immense
35:03pressure in the
35:04latter stages
35:05with Coonan coming
35:06on strong
35:06fabulous ride from
35:09the man from
35:10Holland
35:10there's your top
35:14five

35:19smashing racing
35:24from one or two
35:24mistakes
35:25a race what
35:26might have been
35:27for Lucas Coonan

35:29fallen off
35:30likewise for
35:31we see Tony
35:35Cairoli

36:39so I felt
36:41good all weekend
36:41and pulled
36:42a good start
36:43and Lucas
36:44made a mistake
36:44and I got
36:45pressure I think
36:45also from
36:46Jeffrey
36:46I don't know
36:47what happened
36:47to him
36:47but also
36:49Lucas was
36:49pushing
36:49and was a
36:50high pace
36:51but I'm
36:52happy I made
36:52it through
36:53and on to
36:54second model

37:04and his first
37:05race
37:06for Factory
37:07Fantec
37:07he did it
37:10in some style
37:10it wasn't just
37:11given to him
37:12he had to work
37:12awfully hard
37:13particularly at
37:14the latter stages
37:14with Lucas
37:15Koonen
37:15coming at him
37:16hard
37:17Jeffrey
37:17Herling's
37:18also putting
37:18him under
37:19pressure
37:19but Herling's
37:21just slipping
37:21off the bike
37:22but
37:22yep
37:23it's a
37:24testament to
37:26his commitment
37:27to the sport
37:28still remains
37:30very motivated
37:31and dedicated
37:31to it
37:32and the results
37:33are still there
37:34he said
37:35he still believed
37:36and that belief
37:38has come true
37:38let's just reflect
37:39on the race
37:40here once more
37:41gate was down
37:42and Lucas Koonen
37:43makes a lovely start
37:44as he is
37:45very accomplished
37:47at doing
37:48he gets the
37:48foxhole shot
37:49very easily
37:49we saw Glenn
37:50Koltanoff
37:51coming through
37:51into second place
37:52Fernandez
37:52up there
37:53early doors
37:53Herling's
37:54around the
37:55outside
37:55Fevera
37:56Tony Cairoli
37:57as well

38:00Fevera
38:03getting up
38:03the inside
38:04of Cairoli
38:05early on
38:06in the race
38:06and it stayed
38:08pretty static
38:09for some time
38:09until this man
38:10made that mistake
38:11quite possibly
38:13should have won
38:13the race
38:14but he just
38:14slipped off
38:15Glenn Koltanoff
38:16then gratefully
38:17inherits the lead
38:19and doesn't
38:20give it up
38:20could be a sketchy
38:23moment for
38:23Jeffrey Herlings
38:24but an eye-catching
38:26move for him
38:26to get the better
38:27of Fernandez
38:27and into third place
38:28then he sets
38:29about Koonen
38:30and Koonen
38:31at this stage
38:32wasn't quite
38:33himself
38:33didn't look like
38:35it anyway
38:35but he certainly
38:37regathers himself
38:38Fevera then
38:39closes on
38:39on Koonen
38:40and it looked like
38:41Fevera was going
38:42to be able
38:42to get the better
38:43of Lucas Koonen
38:45but Koonen
38:46then recovers
38:47bit of disappointment
38:49for Jeffrey Herlings
38:50slipping off the side
38:51of the bike
38:52just when he had
38:52a solid second place
38:54but in the end
38:55Glenn Koltanoff
38:56coming through
38:57in flying colours
38:58with the hard
38:58charging
38:59Koonen back
