Jennifer Hollings is charged with wounding with intent to commit Grievous Bodily Harm to her son, Matthew, aged 15 months. Andrew Cruickshank, known best for his role as Doctor Cameron in "Dr Finlay's Casebook", appears as Justice Lorrimer. He also appeared in the film "Murder Most Foul" opposite Miss Marple, Margaret Rutherford. Defence Counsel is played by Jan Chappell, who sci-fi fans will recognise as Cally from "Blake's 7". Kenneth Cranham, known for "Shine on Harvey Moon" amongst many other shows, plays the prosecuting counsel. Antonia Pemberton, the witness Mrs Daly, also appeared in Crown Court as the defendant in "The Natural Bond" as well as Miss Troy in "Within These Walls" (episode "The Slap"). Miriam Margolyes, known for Blackadder, Harry Potter and her one-woman show about Dickens, plays Mrs King. She also appears in the Crown Court story "Auld Lang Syne" as character Marilyn Monro, no less!
