00:00We begin with this Fox News alert.
00:04Two things are happening right now.
00:06President Trump is getting ready to meet with his national security team inside the Oval Office today.
00:11And following the United States historic Operation Midnight Hammer,
00:15we might learn next steps coming out of this meeting as the world awaits.
00:20Security also is being tightened here at home as Iran continues to threaten us.
00:25Yes, death to America, but they're claiming they have sleeper cells inside the United States.
00:30We're going to dig deeper, be all over it.
00:32I'm Harris Faulkner. You are in the Faulkner Focus.
00:35A closer look at that bold mission that severely damaged Iranian nuclear sites.
00:40The operation targeted three of those sites in Iran.
00:45And one of those facilities was the one that we talked about the most, the Fordow site.
00:49The U.S. used six B-2 bombers to drop 12 30,000-pound bunker busters on that site.
00:56Two more of those bunker busters were also dropped on another Iranian nuclear site.
01:0230 Tomahawk missiles hit a third site.
01:05In total, more than 125 U.S. aircraft, 75 precision-guided weapons were used.
01:11And the mission was the first time the United States has directly bombed Iran.
01:16Iran sent a stark warning to the president after those strikes.
01:20Actually, he was already saying this before.
01:23One Iranian military spokesperson called Trump the gambler, adding,
01:27you may start this war, but we will be the ones to end it.
01:30Remember, they were already threatening last week.
01:32Don't do this, sleeper cells, the whole bit.
01:34That continues.
01:36Here's White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt.
01:39This is an operation that presidents of the past have dreamed about,
01:44but no president had the guts to actually do it.
01:46But President Trump did, to take away this imminent threat,
01:49not just to the state of Israel, but to the United States and the rest of the world.
01:54So the country is a safer place today because of the president's bold action,
01:58and he has prevented a nuclear conflict.
02:01He has prevented a rogue radical regime from obtaining a nuclear bomb
02:06and threatening our people.
02:07I wonder how many of those countries around Iran have called to thank our U.S. president,
02:14because it provides them with safety as well.
02:17Iran and Israel are still trading strikes today as the world prepares for how Iran will respond.
02:23Dramatic new video shows the moment a missile hit the side of the road
02:27as Iran launched a new wave of attacks.
02:30That strike was south of Tel Aviv.
02:32And the Israeli Defense Force is responding with its own strikes in a series of attacks
02:37that hit six Iranian airports, destroying 15 fighter jets and attack helicopters.
02:42Note the difference.
02:43Iran goes after highly populated areas, residential areas, business areas of Israel,
02:50and the United States and Israel go after their military targets
02:54and anything nuclear at this point that we can get to.
02:57Senior national correspondent Rich Edson is at the White House now with more.
03:01Hi, good morning, Harris.
03:03Well, White House officials are stressing that the United States is not looking
03:06for an all-out war with Iran.
03:08This is just a couple of hours from now.
03:10President Trump will meet in the Oval Office with his National Security Council
03:14to discuss all this.
03:15As you mentioned, the attacks between Iran and Israel continue.
03:19The Israelis are launching more attacks against Iran,
03:21and the administration waits on any potential response from Tehran
03:26after American bombs struck Iranian nuclear sites over the weekend.
03:29Now, Iran could target the massive U.S. military presence in the Middle East
03:33or disrupt shipping and global energy markets.
03:36The president is watching the oil markets, posting this morning, quote,
03:39everyone keep oil prices down.
03:41I'm watching.
03:42You're playing right into the hands of the enemy.
03:44Don't do it.
03:45For years, American presidents, including this one in his first term,
03:48have pressured the regime in Iran, especially with sanctions.
03:51As for whether the U.S. is trying to help overthrow the Ayatollah,
03:54the president wrote, quote, it's not politically correct to use the term regime change,
03:59but if the current Iranian regime is unable to make Iran great again,
04:03why wouldn't there be a regime change?
04:05There is an authoritarian government there, and afterwards,
04:08the White House press secretary stressed that U.S. policy is unchanged.
04:12The president was just simply raising a question that I think many people around the world are asking.
04:18If the Iranian regime refuses to give up their nuclear program or engage in talks,
04:24we just took out their nuclear program on Saturday night, as you all know,
04:27but if they refuse to engage in diplomacy moving forward,
04:30why shouldn't the Iranian people rise up against this brutal terrorist regime?
04:34Now, ahead of this weekend's attacks from the U.S. on Iranian nuclear sites,
04:39the Israeli military had significantly degraded Iran's defenses as well as its militias and proxies
04:46across the region.
04:48Harris?
04:48Rich, thank you very much.
04:50The Wall Street Journal's editorial board has a new piece titled,
04:53Trump Meets the Moment on Iran.
04:56And it says this,
04:57At the very least, Iran's nuclear program has been set back by years.
05:01Iran may retaliate, no matter how self-destructive that would be for them.
05:05It now knows Mr. Trump is not bluffing.
05:09Much of the press has been fixated on the idea that Mr. Trump has now joined or even started a conflict.
05:15But Iran has been waging regional and terrorist war for decades.
05:19It's as likely that he has helped end it.
05:23Republican Senator Joni Ernst of Iowa, member of the Armed Services Committee and an Iraq War veteran,
05:28you led a command over there on the ground of reserve officers.
05:34Very impressive.
05:35And so you can tell us what it's like right now, as I'm most curious about,
05:40as the president kind of calculates his next move.
05:43Yes, absolutely.
05:44And what I would recommend, of course, to every American,
05:47whether they are civilian or military in the Middle East,
05:50is they must keep their heads on swivels.
05:53They must be aware of what is going on around them 24-7.
05:57We would anticipate that Iran would attempt to go after any American they can,
06:04whether it's bases in the Middle East or, as we heard earlier,
06:08maybe even Americans here in the homeland.
06:11But to the president, thank you, Mr. President, for securing our future
06:16and making sure that future generations are safe from a nuclear threat coming out of Iran.
06:22And I know that many of the countries through the Middle East, our Arab partners,
06:27and most certainly Israel, will be grateful as well that they won't have the threat of nuclear war hanging over their heads.
06:34We want a strong, prosperous, and safe Middle East.
06:39What do you say about the United Nations with all of this?
06:41I mean, I hear what you're saying, and I had just made the point.
06:44I mean, I wonder who's made the phone call of thank you to the president in that region,
06:48because it's better for everybody.
06:49But the United Nations is condemning us.
06:53Well, shame on the United Nations.
06:55It just shows how far to the left that they have bent.
06:58Instead of wanting world security,
07:01the United Nations just simply cowers to many of these authoritarian regimes.
07:06But we know, and in the conversations I have had through the Middle East as I travel there frequently,
07:13hearing from those leaders is that they do want peace.
07:16They do not want to see a war.
07:19This is not a war.
07:20This was a strike on a threat to the United States of America.
07:25I would say, as well, this is retribution, Harris,
07:29for the thousands of American lives that have been taken by Iran
07:33through direct strikes from Iran, as well as their terrorist proxies.
07:38And I was saying last week, as well, we lost 43 Americans on October 7th.
07:43Not a peep out of the Biden administration.
07:46Eight Americans were held hostage by Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
07:51And yet, President Biden chose not to do a darn thing about it.
07:55Well, we have a president who is going to stand up for Americans now.
07:59We will be much more safe and secure because of the actions over this past weekend.
08:05Right. Look, you talk about Biden and his inaction.
08:07If he even knew what was going on, we can't verify that.
08:10But let's go back a little bit further.
08:12President Trump's decision to bomb key Iranian nuclear sites is dividing Congress.
08:16And my head is split on it because Obama bombed like 26,000 bombs in seven countries
08:23in a few months of 2016 before the election.
08:26Take a look at this.
08:27Democrats are actually in a tailspin over what Trump has done.
08:31The United States should not be in an offensive war against Iran without a vote of Congress.
08:36The Constitution is completely clear on it.
08:40And I am so disappointed that the president has acted so prematurely.
08:44What the president did here is definitely outside of the War Powers Resolution,
08:49and I think outside of the Constitution.
08:51The president absolutely failed to follow the Constitution.
08:55And now we're in war without congressional authorization.
08:59All of that is fancy for what Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Congresswoman from New York,
09:03just simply puts, it is absolutely and clearly grounds for impeachment.
09:06They love that word.
09:07It makes the situation a lot clearer for voters, though, apparently, because it didn't work out
09:14for Democrats.
09:15Look, I want to go right away to exactly what Obama did and how we know that what President
09:20Trump just did was without a doubt constitutional and within the bounds of his power.
09:26The Obama administration, many sources are saying, dropped more than 26,000 bombs in seven countries.
09:34You can take a look at that.
09:36The Council on Foreign Relations, so this is one, that says that estimate is undoubtedly low
09:42because reliable data are only available for the airstrikes in Pakistan, Yemen, Somalia,
09:47and Libya.
09:48And, of course, there was a war going on in Afghanistan, so they didn't even count that.
09:52Additionally, a single strike, according to the Pentagon's definition, can involve multiple
09:57bombs or munitions.
09:59We should note, again, we were at war someplace.
10:02Senator, Afghanistan.
10:03Yes, absolutely, Harris.
10:06And all this big talk coming from the Democrats, we are not in an offensive war.
10:13This was simply a defensive strike to prevent further nuclear enrichment to be used for a nuclear
10:21warhead, which would be directed not just at Israel, but then also the United States of America.
10:29We have saved countless American lives through this strike.
10:33And so, sure, if they want to drag President Trump out here in front of Congress, you know,
10:38and all the folks down at the Department of Defense, go on with your bad selves.
10:42We'll bring President Obama in, too.
10:45Let's sit down.
10:46Let's compare the two, because certainly President Obama did so much more than President Trump
10:52has done in this first six months.
10:55So thank you and congratulations, Mr. President.
10:59I believe in you.
11:00I want to thank the entire Team America, from the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Dan
11:05Cain, General Eric Carilla, our Central Command commander, the entire team that made this
11:11possible.
11:12They are brave warriors, and they are protecting American interests.
11:18Senator, real quick, Syria, 12,192 bombs.
11:22Iraq, 12,095 bombs.
11:24During the last few months of President Obama's, and no one was talking impeachment or authorization
11:29or having conflict over that here at home.
11:32But my point is, you served in Iraq, so you have a little bit of knowledge about all that
11:37was going on.
11:38Just real quickly, when you compare this strike and its efficacy and cloaked nature, what do
11:45you say?
11:46Right.
11:47And I do think this was incredible.
11:50The fact that they were able to keep this secret and to move out and to move forward with
11:56this operation without it leaking, without the Iranians having any idea that this was coming
12:03was absolutely incredible.
12:06So what I would say is for the other nations and adversaries around the world, make no mistake
12:13that America is back.
12:16We have the most lethal fighting force on the face of the planet, and when we are threatened,
12:22when we have other adversaries like Iran that have killed Americans, you better be wary,
12:29because we have the strength and now a president with the wherewithal to actually push back against
12:36those that come after American lives.
12:40So, again, I can't say enough about this operation and the incredible warriors that carried this
12:45out, their entire support team.
12:48It truly is Team America Harris.
12:50I'm very, very proud of all of them.
12:53Senator Ernst, and we are as well as a nation, we're in their debt.
