00:00Respondent Trey Yanks reporting live from Tel Aviv, Trey, what's the latest from where
00:06you are?
00:07Yeah, Martha, the entire region looking at Qatar this evening following the Iranian
00:13strike on the Al-Odeid Air Base just outside of Doha.
00:17Earlier in the day, there started to be some GPS jamming around that area, and then an
00:21alert went out from the U.S. Embassy in Doha warning American citizens there to shelter
00:27in place.
00:28The final indication that something may have been happening was the closing of Qatari
00:32airspace, and then ultimately we saw this attack unfold.
00:37It does appear, at least for now, to be over, but there could be further responses from the
00:41Iranians as state media is announcing they are calling this in Tehran the Annunciation
00:48of Victory.
00:49Now, they're also releasing their own propaganda about what took place targeting this U.S.
00:54terrorist in the Middle East, saying it was a devastating and powerful blow.
00:58And tonight, Iran's Supreme National Security Council trying to ease tensions with Qatar,
01:03who condemned this attack on their country, saying the operation did not pose any threat
01:08or danger to the brotherly Qatari people or the security of the Qatari state.
01:12As Jennifer noted, we do anticipate we'll get more information from the Qatari's this
01:17evening when they hold a press conference in Doha.
01:20But tonight, the Israelis are reacting and bracing for the possibility that Iranian attacks
01:24against this country continue.
01:26Earlier this morning, there were two waves of ballistic missiles that targeted both residential
01:30areas in the north and energy facilities in the south.
01:34The Israelis believe there will be more attacks tonight from Iranian territory, despite the
01:39fact that we learned just last hour Israeli fighter jets remain in the skies over the Iranian
01:44capital of Tehran and in the surrounding area.
01:47They are striking targets as we speak.
01:50We anticipate this will continue throughout this evening.
01:53And again, the latest information as the region reacts to this news that the Iranians have
01:57launched an attack on the largest U.S. base in the region.
02:01This base is just about a 30 minute drive outside of the Qatari capital of Doha and normally
02:06houses around 10,000 U.S. soldiers.
02:08Martha?
02:09Yeah, so we will all be watching for any further attacks on any U.S. bases.
02:14Trey, in terms of the Israeli response that continues, what's your sense of what they were able
02:20to accomplish and did the attack on Saturday night soften up any targets that they were
02:24able to then go back into over the last 24 hours?
02:31It's a great question.
02:31When President Trump ordered those strikes against Iranian nuclear facilities, the Israelis
02:36wanted to ensure that Iran couldn't go and determine how much damage was caused or
02:41try to repair anything that was hit in the U.S. strikes over the weekend.
02:45So earlier today, outside of the Fordow nuclear facility, this large fortified facility that
02:50President Trump ordered the strikes against, the Israelis hit the access routes to Fordow
02:56so that the Iranians were not able to send teams in to assess how much damage had been done.
03:01Martha?
03:02Trey Yang, thank you very much.
