Bicol Water Search and Rescue Olympics  The Philippine Coast Guard in Bicol launches the first Bicol Water Search and Rescue Olympics in Matayum, Cataingan, Masbate to test the endurance, readiness, and capabilities of the government forces in disaster response. The activities include human centipede race; rubber boat paddling/rowing; knot tying relay; spinal injury management and 50-meter swimming relay. Commodore Ivan E. Roldan, PCG commander in Bicol said that they are pushing to institutionalize WASAR.
