US President Donald Trump on June 22 announced that the military carried out the "Operation Midnight Hammer", targetting nuclear sites in Iran. After President Trump's announcement, social media was flooded with posts that claim the US aircraft used Indian airspace to conduct the airstrikes. However, PIB Fact Check, a fact-checking unit of the Indian government, debunked the viral claim. On X, PIB Fact Check wrote: "This claim is FAKE. Indian Airspace was NOT used by the United States during Operation Midnight Hammer." The fact-checking unit also underlined that General Dan Caine, Joint Chiefs of Staff Chair, revealed the route used by US aircraft and India was not part of it.
