00:00Analysts have warned that a political super team featuring big names like Kairi Jamaluddin, Rafizi Ramli and Said Sadiq Said Abdul Rahman might look good on paper but won't go far in Malaysia's political terrain.
00:15Public Policy Specialist Kartini Abu Talib of University Kebangsaan Malaysia warned that personality clashes, deferring strategies and undefined roles could sink a new party before it gained traction.
00:28She said without genuine willingness to compromise and a unified goal of defeating a common political opponent, such a party would struggle to succeed.
00:37The idea of a new party was floated by UMNO Supreme Council member Pua Tsarkashi who joked that high profile but politically displaced leaders like Kairi, Rafizi and others should form a party together with solid bargaining power.
00:52However, Malaysia has a long history of failed third forces, from Party Socialist Malaysia to Pujuang to Ibn Muda, all of which struggled to gain ground against dominant coalitions.
01:04Asmi Hassan of Academy Nusantara pointed out that political survival depends on deep grassroots support and a working party machinery, not just charisma.
