00:00It might be like the button hitting it because the button's metal.
00:04Yes. Of this film. Oh.
00:08How's... um... sorry let me start over.
00:12We are students and we don't have any. Should I put my arm here like there's someone that...
00:16No. We're good? Okay. This is Sarah and Amanda's
00:20interview. Take one. Gabe's interview.
00:24Mia's interview. Take one. This is the immodest interview.
00:28Hi. I'm Sarah Wardato. And I'm Amanda Wardato. We are the directors
00:32and producers of our senior thesis film called
00:36The Bird House. My name's Gabe O'Malley and I'm the co-writer
00:40on The Bird House. Hello. My name is Mia Shaler and I'm on production
00:44design for The Bird House. My name is Amadis. I'm the score composer and also
00:48the sound recordist for The Bird House. It's a comedy and it's about
00:52two sisters. One of them, the older one, gets engaged
00:56and then the younger one, she's trying to break
01:00her engagement. So she sets up
01:02these like really funny and humiliating
01:04scenes to try to
01:06break the engagement.
01:08So things can like go back to normal.
01:10Just from like the first run through I read
01:12the script initially, I could tell
01:14that it was a very personal story.
01:16We've definitely lived through something like it
01:18and so we just thought, oh
01:20that would actually be really cool if like
01:22we highlight the sisterhood and like
01:24the siblinghood together.
01:26So we thought of this idea and we're like
01:28let's just do it. I really like the idea
01:30about the inevitable change that
01:32everybody has to go through at some point.
01:34I think it's a great lesson for everyone to learn.
01:36I think this film can help people to get
01:38through those changes.
01:40It's a very weird but relatable feeling
01:42whether you be the older sister who's
01:44leaving or the younger sister who's being left behind.
01:46I think it's something we can all relate to
01:48and something that we can all enjoy watching
01:50and see other characters
01:52grow through it too.
01:54It's not often that, you know, people get an opportunity
01:56to tell their stories through this medium.
01:58Especially stories that are as powerful as this one.
02:00So I think it would be a great
02:02opportunity if we got the funds
02:04to be able to tell this story.
02:06I think that the world right now kind of
02:08needs this because there is a lot
02:10of brokenness in the world.
02:12I think family is kind of where it begins.
02:14It's a great opportunity to
02:16put your money towards the arts.
02:18We're making these, you know, films and stuff like that
02:20and we're giving this great opportunity at school.
02:22We just need a little bit of extra help
02:24so with your help we can make our dreams
02:26possible of pursuing our passions.
02:28When people see this film, I hope they just
02:30they can go out and mend those relationships
02:32that were broken
02:34or maybe even make relationships stronger.
02:38It has a lot of things I think people are looking for
02:40these days. It has a lot of comedy.
02:42It's very light-hearted but it's also
02:44has a very strong sort of emotional aspect to it
02:48and the relationships between the characters
02:50are really like the heart of the story
02:52and I think it's going to speak to a lot of people.
02:54Let's pray this before.
