00:00Most of us scroll past headlines like Iran launches missiles or Israel strike backs without pausing.
00:07After all, it's not our war. Not our problem. It's happening thousands of kilometers away.
00:13Different countries, different causes, different gods.
00:17But here's the truth. While you're watching reels or sipping a cup of coffee,
00:22the war is already knocking on your door.
00:24Hello and welcome. I am Gaurang Khadam and you are watching Lokmar Times.
00:28Before we start talking about five direct ways this war is silently affecting all of us in India,
00:35here is our generous appeal.
00:37Please do like, share and subscribe if you haven't already.
00:40The war between Iran and Israel may seem distant, but we can already feel its impact.
00:45The first thing that's taking a hit is the fuel we use every day.
00:50The moments Iran fired rockets and Israel responded, the global oil market went into panic mode.
00:56Crude oil prices shot up over by 11% in just a few days.
01:01And when crude rises, India feels the burn.
01:04Because we import over 85% of our oil.
01:07What means is very simple.
01:09You now have to pay more to fill your bike, your car and even your gas cylinder.
01:14That's Rs. 150 extra for an LPG refill.
01:18That's the war, right there silently killing your kitchen.
01:21You didn't start this conflict, but you are already paying its bill every time you hit the fuel station.
01:27But it doesn't stop at petrol.
01:29The war is silently making our daily food more expensive.
01:32When diesel becomes costlier, truck carrying vegetables, milk, rice and wheat start charging more.
01:40Cold storage even goes up.
01:42Transport costs rise.
01:44And it all adds up to a more expensive grocery list.
01:48One that makes a middle class family pulls back items from the checkout counter.
01:53The war is not on our street, but it's in your plate every single day.
01:58And no, it's not just about inflation.
02:02It's inflation with a missile behind it.
02:05Now, look at your phone or your laptop.
02:08Try buying a new one and the prices are climbing.
02:11That's not a coincidence.
02:12Israel is a global hub for semiconductors and electronic parts.
02:17Many companies rely on materials and technologies linked to that region.
02:21And when war hits, those supply chains are disrupted.
02:25Ships are rerouted.
02:26Cargo is delayed.
02:28Insurances are raised.
02:29The result that a single phone which costed 20,000 now will cost Rs. 23,000.
02:35That delivery you promised in three days now takes 12.
02:39There's no label saying that price increased due to war.
02:43But the war is embedded in that price stack.
02:46Our farmers are also feeling the pressure because fertilizers are getting costlier.
02:51You don't see his pain on Instagram stories, but he lives in India.
02:54India imports a large portion of fertilizers and industrial salts from Iran.
03:00With trade rules disrupted and shipments delayed, fertilizer prices are climbing.
03:06For the farmer, that means growing wheat or sugarcane again just got costlier.
03:11And for you, it means the wheat that turns into a chapati just became harder to afford.
03:17Farming has always been tough in India.
03:19But this war fought far away has made it even tougher, silently without headlines.
03:25And finally, if a key trade route gets blocked, it could badly affect India's entire economy.
03:32The Strait of Ormus, just a silver of ocean between Iran and Oman, but one that carries one-third of the world's oil every day.
03:41And Iran controls it.
03:43If things escalate further, Iran blocks this passage.
03:46Oil supply chains across the globe will collapse.
03:49Ships will have to take a longer route, costing more time, more money and more panic.
03:54And India, which gets over two-thirds of its oil and LNG through the strait, will be the one first who feels the aftershock.
04:03We won't hear explosions, but prices around you will escalate.
04:06So now, you may not hear sirens in your city.
04:10You may not see tanks in your streets.
04:12But make no mistake, the war is already here.
04:16In your budget, in your groceries, in your EMIs and in your dreams that are being delayed.
04:22One refill at a time.
04:23You didn't start this war.
04:25You don't support it.
04:27But somehow, you are still being forced to live with its consequences.
04:31Because in today's world, discipline doesn't protect you from war.
04:35Only awareness does.
