00:08country when it came to securing their top choice school. Over 90% of applicants were

00:13offered their first preference, with more than 97% getting one of their listed options.

00:19It places the region among the best performing areas in England, well ahead of the national

00:24average and significantly above London and the West Midlands. This strong performance

00:29reflects good planning and capacity across the region, but also shows the advantage of lower

00:34population density compared to high-pressure urban areas. For local families, this means greater

00:39certainty and less disruption in the lead-up to a new school year. While some schools in Newcastle

00:45remain oversubscribed, the overall picture is one of success and satisfaction. In a national system

00:51that often feels uneven, Tyne and Weir stands out as a region where most children are getting the
