Cinq amis provoquent par inadvertance un accident de voiture, ils dissimulent le cadavre et font le pacte de garder le secret. Un an plus tard, ils apprennent que quelqu'un sait ce qu'ils ont fait l'été dernier... et est bien décidé à se venger. Alors que l'un après l'autre, les amis sont traqués par un tueur, ils découvrent que cela s'est déjà produit auparavant et se tournent vers deux survivants du légendaire massacre de Southport en 1997 pour obtenir de l'aide.
