The Dooley and pals Show
Transcript
00:00Oh! Cosmic Comets, I'm so glad to see you. I want all my friends to be safe and sound.
00:09But today I was worried that Max and Nick were in trouble. But they were just practicing a fire drill.
00:16Do you know what that is? I wasn't sure, so I asked my friends to help me learn more about safety on your planet.
00:24Do you want to find out what I learned? You do? Then come on, the fun's just beginning.
00:54Meet a friend out of you and he's to leave at house.
01:04Mom! Max! I'm going to call for help! Mom, can you help me out of the window?
01:10Gravity Gravy! What's going on out there?
01:13It sounds like Axe and Pic! I mean, uh, Max and Nick!
01:18Nick? Max, are you both alright?
01:20Oh no! They must be in trouble!
01:22Come on! There's no time to lose!
01:33I called 911 from the phone in the corner, Mom.
01:35Good job, Nick.
01:37Leap and Lightyear! What's happening? Is everyone alright?
01:40We had a fire, Julie.
01:42A fire?
01:43Oh, no, no! Not a real fire!
01:46Max means we had a fire drill.
01:49We didn't know you guys were here or we would have told you.
01:51Oh! A fire drill!
01:56Of course! A fire drill?
01:59No. What's a fire drill?
02:02Accessing databanks?
02:03Hmm. Hmm.
02:04Oh! Here it is! A fire drill!
02:07Huh! Practicing something without doing it for real!
02:10So, you were only pretending to have a fire.
02:13That's right, Kayla.
02:15We were practicing the steps we would take to keep safe and get out of the house.
02:19Oh. Like dialing 911. Right?
02:22Yeah. I was only pretending this time, Dooley.
02:26But if you ever have a real emergency, it's important to get help fast.
02:30Dialing 911 is the quickest way to call the police or the fire department.
02:35Or an ambulance.
02:37Hey, it sounds like you've all been practicing safety.
02:40Yeah, Mom. We know what to do in an emergency.
02:43What do you do if you need help quick?
03:10If someone gets hurt or someone gets sick,
03:14It's up to you. You're the only one.
03:18Just go to the phone and dial 911 and say,
03:22It's an emergency, it's an emergency, it's an emergency.
03:28Oh, yeah!
03:30It's an emergency, it's an emergency, it's an emergency.
03:36Come on!
03:37What do you do if you smell some smoke?
03:41Get out fast before you can choke.
03:45As soon as you do, remember everyone.
03:49Just pick up the phone and dial 911 and tell them,
03:53It's an emergency, it's an emergency, it's an emergency.
03:58It's an emergency, it's an emergency, it's an emergency.
04:08Say your name, speak it slow and clear.
04:12Give the address where trouble is near.
04:16Stay as calm as calm as can be.
04:20And you can get through any emergency.
04:23It's an emergency, it's an emergency, it's an emergency.
04:42Fire! Flood!
04:49Earthquake! Emergency!
04:55Help!
04:56Oh, Zoom, what is it? What's happening?
05:00Is there a fire? A flood?
05:01Are we having an earthquake?
05:03No, there's no fire.
05:06No fire? No flood either?
05:08No flood, no earthquake.
05:10Then why would you scare me like that, Zoom?
05:13Why would you say those things if they aren't true?
05:16Oh, it was a drill.
05:19A drill?
05:21I was practicing in case we had an emergency.
05:25Zoom, that's not a drill. That's just scaring someone.
05:29It is? Then what's a drill?
05:32A drill is when you practice taking safe steps during an emergency.
05:36You can't just run around screaming about fires and earthquakes.
05:40Earthquake? Where? Oh, no, no. Earthquake! Fire!
05:45But, Zoom! Zoom!
05:47Oh...
05:48Mm-mm-mm.
06:03Hi, everybody.
06:04Hey, Mrs. E.
06:06Looks like you guys are gearing up for something big.
06:09Oh, it's been such an exciting day, Mrs. E.
06:13Nick and Max had a fire drill this morning,
06:15and now we're learning all about being safe.
06:18Oh, safety's an important part of my job,
06:21and today's letter fits in perfectly.
06:23It's the letter C for careful.
06:26I remember to be careful when walking near traffic.
06:29By looking both ways before you cross the street.
06:34And C is for crosswalk, too.
06:36You should only cross at crosswalks, right, Mrs. E.?
06:38You got it.
06:40Looks like you've learned a lot already.
06:41And we're learning how to take care of ourselves every day.
06:45You are?
06:46Well, tell me more about it.
06:48Mostly I take care of me.
06:54I can do just about everything.
06:58I still need help, but you can see.
07:01Mostly I take care of me.
07:03Mostly I take care of me.
07:10But I'd rather choose.
07:12And if you're not in a big, big hurry, I can tie my own shoes.
07:18I brush my teeth.
07:19I brush my teeth, I brush my hair, and I know which one is which.
07:24I learn to do more.
07:24I learn to do more, most every day.
07:27And I add it to my list.
07:30Mostly I take care of me.
07:33I can do just about everything.
07:34I can do just about everything.
07:36I still need help, but you can see.
07:40Mostly I take care of me.
07:42I know not to ever cross the street until I look both ways.
07:51When I ride my bike, my helmet's on.
07:54Same as when I wear my skate.
07:57I don't go near things, sharp or hot.
08:00I'm careful all around.
08:03It's just a part of growing up and staying safe and sound.
08:09Mostly I take care of me.
08:12I can do just about everything.
08:15I still need help, but you can see.
08:18Mostly I take care of me.
08:21Mostly I take care of me.
08:24I can do just about everything.
08:27I still need help, but you can see.
08:30Mostly I take care of me.
08:33Mostly I take care of me.
08:40Well, that was great.
08:43It certainly sounds like you know how to be careful and take care of yourself.
08:47Well, we still need our parents' help sometimes.
08:50Well, that's the wonderful thing about families.
08:52We all take care of each other.
08:54Ooh.
08:55Are those my picture pals?
08:57They truly duly are.
09:00You're welcome.
09:01I better make like a banana and split.
09:03Have a seguro dia.
09:05That's a safe day in Spanish.
09:07Bye, Miss Sissy.
09:09Have a seguro dia.
09:13Ooh!
09:14Meltin' Meteors.
09:15This picture from Breton is truly, duly beautiful.
09:19Look at this picture from Peter.
09:21What wonderful shapes.
09:22Ricky sent in this great picture.
09:23These are all duly-rific.
09:24Thanks picture pals.
09:25Hey kids.
09:26When we dial 911, we can get help fast.
09:27If we need it.
09:29Take a look at this.
09:30Thanks, picture pals!
09:32Hey kids, when we dial 9-1-1, we can get help fast.
09:37If we need it, take a look at this.
11:30Having safety school for Julie and Marty is a cool idea.
11:34Yeah.
11:35You can show them everything you've learned about safety.
11:38Okay, I think we're ready.
11:41Emergency!
11:43Emergency!
11:44Calling everyone!
11:46What's going on here?
11:50Huh?
11:51Oh, did you call us?
11:56That was very good.
11:59Welcome to safety school.
12:00Now that we have your attention, we'd like to teach you a few things about being safe in your home.
12:04Oh, like what, Mr. Firefighter?
12:08Oh, this is so exciting!
12:11Fire is a very serious thing.
12:14The best way to stay safe is not to have a fire at all.
12:17That's right.
12:18Stay away from matches and don't play with wall sockets.
12:21Both are very dangerous and can start a fire in your home.
12:24Oh, and make sure your parents have a smoke alarm and that it works.
12:28It can help you get out of the house if there is a fire.
12:32Yes, but there are other things in your house that are dangerous too.
12:36Oh, like what, Dr. Max?
12:40Never play with medicine bottles or take medicine unless a parent gives it to you.
12:45Too much medicine might hurt you.
12:47It's important to get help when you need it, but you should always be careful of strangers.
12:52How, Michael?
12:53Uh, I mean, uh, Officer Michael?
12:56Never answer the door unless you know who it is.
12:59And never give out your name to a stranger on the phone.
13:03Hmm.
13:04And what do we do if we need help in an emergency?
13:08Uh, uh, ooh, I know.
13:11We dial 911.
13:13That's right!
13:15Oh, simmering sunspots.
13:18I'm learning so much in safety school today.
13:21Say, do you know how to stay safe in your home?
13:25You do?
13:27I knew it.
13:28All my friends are safe and smart.
13:34Fire!
13:35Flood!
13:37Oh, the humanity!
13:38What will we do?
13:39Where will we go?
13:41Uh, uh, Zoom?
13:44Zoom?
13:45What are you doing?
13:48Why are you dressed like that?
13:50Cosmos, we need to be prepared.
13:52We need to be ready.
13:53We need to be safe.
13:55Zoom, there are easier ways to stay safe.
13:58I think you're going a little overboard.
14:01You won't be saying that, but I'm leading you out of danger!
14:05You'll thank me when I snatched you from harm's way.
14:08Look, all we need to know are simple ways to stay safe, and we should have a plan in case something happens.
14:14Is that all?
14:17That's all.
14:18It's easy to stay safe when you know what to do.
14:20Well, what do we do then?
14:23The first thing we do is to stop yelling about fires and floods!
14:27Oh, you saw them too?
14:29Fire!
14:30Fire!
14:31Flood!
14:32Oh, what to do?
14:33Quick, quick, quick, quick, quick!
14:34Get out of here!
14:35Nope, nope, nope.
14:36What?
14:37Zoom!
14:38Here are today's fun facts.
14:58Turnips turn green when they get sunburned.
15:01Camels have three eyelids to protect their eyes from blowing sand.
15:06Hey, everybody!
15:08Let's dance and move our bodies!
15:10Come on, get ready!
15:11Here we go!
15:20Mirror me, mirror me, everybody!
15:24Mirror me, do what I do!
15:27Mirror me, mirror me, everybody!
15:31Mirror me, do what I do!
15:34Let's go!
15:38Shake your partner's hand.
15:42Now play in the band.
15:46Banging on the drum.
15:49And the piano's fun.
15:53You can play guitar.
15:56Hey, you're gonna go far.
16:00Lay the saxophone.
16:02Lay the saxophone.
16:03Very good.
16:04Now you're on your own.
16:06That's exactly right!
16:08Mirror me, mirror me, everybody!
16:12Mirror me, do what I do!
16:15Ah ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!
16:23Ah.
16:25Safety school was truly dooly-rific.
16:44I learned so much.
16:46Bees too.
16:47Uh, I mean, uh, me too.
16:49Yeah, you kids certainly know some helpful safety tips.
16:52Hmm, I just hope we can remember them all.
16:55My teacher says the best way to learn something is to practice it.
16:59Well, maybe we should try that, huh, Marty?
17:03Say, should we practice what we've learned today?
17:06Let's look around our spaceship and find some pretend danger.
17:10Mm-hmm.
17:11Do you remember how to stay safe?
17:14Let's try.
17:15Ahem.
17:16Doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo.
17:18Ooh, these look fun.
17:21I wonder if I can play with these.
17:23Ooh, no, Marty.
17:25Matches aren't toys.
17:26They start fires.
17:28And we should never, ever play with them.
17:32Doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo.
17:35Ooh, these look cool.
17:38I wonder if there's food inside.
17:41I love candy.
17:43Marty, that's not candy.
17:45That's medicine.
17:46Medicine is for when we're sick.
17:48Ahem.
17:49Huh?
17:50Oh, and only our parents can give it to us.
17:54It's not food.
17:55Whoa!
17:56Come in!
17:57No, Marty.
17:58You don't know who it is yet.
17:59We should always check before we let someone in our house.
18:02Or a spaceship.
18:03Oh, that's right.
18:04Ahem.
18:05Who is it?
18:06It's Kayla.
18:07Oh, I know her.
18:08She's our friend.
18:09May I please let Kayla come in?
18:10Sure, Marty.
18:11It's smart to ask an adult first.
18:13Jump in Jupiter.
18:14We truly do.
18:15We truly do.
18:16Did learn a lot about safety today.
18:17Now you can graduate from safety school.
18:19I think you all deserve to graduate from safety school.
18:22Wahoo!
18:23Learning is cool.
18:24Yeah, and it just goes to show you can learn anytime, anywhere.
18:27You only need to stop, look, and go.
18:29Listen.
18:30Don't be in a hurry.
18:38Try to stop at night.
18:41I think you all deserve to graduate from safety school.
18:44Wahoo!
18:45Learning is cool.
18:46Yeah, and it just goes to show you can learn anytime, anywhere.
18:49You only need to stop, look, and listen.
18:54In a hurry, try to stop, look, and listen along the way.
19:05Learning is a journey.
19:10If you stop, look, and listen along the way.
19:18Everybody learns something every day.
19:24School is cool, but it's not the only learning place.
19:31Everywhere you go, there's lots to learn and know.
19:37If you stop, look, and listen along the way.
19:44Don't be in a hurry.
19:48Try to stop, look, and listen along the way.
19:57Learning, whoa, whoa, is a journey.
20:02Whoa, whoa, if you stop, look, and listen along the way.
20:07I can learn from you.
20:12You can learn from me.
20:16Through stories, books, and nature.
20:19In the world we see.
20:23Learning lasts forever.
20:26So every single day.
20:28Just stop, look, and listen along the way.
20:35Don't be in a hurry.
20:41Try to stop, look, and listen along the way.
20:46Learning, whoa, whoa, is a journey.
20:53Whoa, whoa, if you stop, look, and listen along the way.
21:02Everyone's a student.
21:05And a teacher, too.
21:07There's so much to explore.
21:11And so much we can do.
21:14So stop, look, and listen.
21:19Whoa!
21:21Don't be in a hurry.
21:26Try to stop, look, and listen along the way.
21:32Learning, whoa, whoa, is a journey.
21:38Whoa, whoa, if you stop, look, and listen along the way.

21:52Along the way.
21:54Whoa!
21:55Along the way.
21:57Zoom, what are you doing now?
22:10Well, I took your advice, Cosmos.
22:12I found out how to be safe by being prepared and knowing what to do.
22:16So, no more yelling and scaring me?
22:19Nope, I'm ready for anything.
22:22Fire?
22:24Ready.
22:25Flood?
22:27Ready.
22:28Earthquake?

22:41Oh, Joe.
22:50Daily Dooley Long Entry.
22:53Oh, hi, everybody.
22:55It's me, Dooley.
22:58Ever since my ship landed here on Earth, I've learned lots about your planet.
23:07Today, I learned all about safety and how to be safe in our own home.
23:12When I saw Max and Nick having a fire drill, I asked them to teach me more about being safe.
23:17Mrs. Z stopped by with the letter C, and my friends showed her how they're growing up and learning to take care of themselves.
23:26Mostly I take care of me.
23:28I can do just about everything.
23:31I still need help, but you can see.
23:34Mostly I take care of me.
23:37My friends put on a safety show and told me so many easy ways to stay safe and prevent emergencies, like not playing with matches and never taking medicine without a parent.
23:49We learned staying safe starts in the home and can be easy and a lot of fun.
23:54If you stop, look and listen along the way.
24:00And as always, we shared our Dooley-rific picture pals.
24:05Don't forget to send your picture pals to the Dooley and Pal Show.
