00:00So today is June 17, 2025 and we have now entered the fifth day of the ongoing
00:07conflict between Iran and Israel. So far at least 224 Iranians and 24 Israelis
00:15have been killed. A new report from Reuters says that Iran is asking the US
00:22to put pressure on Israel to agree to a ceasefire. With the help of Gulf countries
00:28like Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Oman. In return, Iran is offering to be more
00:35flexible in nuclear talks. This comes after heavy airstrikes by Israel on
00:40Iranian territory. Reporter says leaders and top diplomats from the Gulf have
00:46been talking over the phone this weekend, speaking with officials in Tehran,
00:51Washington and other capitals trying to stop the situation from getting worse.
00:56An Iranian source told Reuters that Iran might be open to nuclear negotiations
01:02but only if a ceasefire happens first. In response, Qatar, Oman and Saudi Arabia have
01:09asked the US to urge Israel to agree to the ceasefire so that talks with Iran can
01:15restart. But Iran also told Qatar and Oman clearly it won't negotiate while being
01:23attacked. Reuters also says that Oman is now working on a ceasefire proposal to help
01:30restart US-Iran nuclear talks. It's worth noting that just last month on May 6,
01:38Oman helped mediate a ceasefire between the US and Yemeni Houthi forces. Meanwhile,
01:45President Trump left the G7 summit early due to rising tension in the Middle East on June 15,
01:51during a press event in Washington DC. A reporter asked him, Mr. President, can you tell us what you are
02:01doing to calm things down between Iran and Israel? President Trump replied, well I hope there's going
02:08to be a deal. I think it's a time. We'll see what happens. Sometimes they, Iran and Israel need to figure it out
02:17themselves. But I think there is a chance. Right now the situation is changing very quickly and everyone
02:25is watching to see if diplomacy can prevent a bigger war. Stay tuned with us. We will come back again with
