00:29Are you going to get to spend some time with yours ?
00:31Yeah, as soon as I leave here.
00:32I'm sure you will.
00:33Cool, that's good to hear.
00:35Chez, let's talk some basketball.
00:37Game four was extremely tough on both teams, I'm sure,
00:40but you guys came up with the win.
00:42Would you say that was one of the hardest wins you ever get ?
00:45Probably, probably.
00:48At this stage in the season, with what's at stake,
00:52I think every win from here on out is going to be pretty hard to get.
00:55Both teams are playing for their lives.
00:57Both teams are so close to their ultimate goal.
01:00They're going to give everything they got, every possession,
01:02and we're seeing that unfold.
01:03Tell me about this match-up with Andrew Nembhard.
01:06How old is he making things on you ?
01:08He's tough.
01:09He's a really good defender, physical, athletic.
01:12He's been really good.
01:14How old do you two know each other ?
01:17You guys go way back, right ?
01:19Yeah, we played each other when we were kids.
01:21Very young age, I think I was nine.
01:24He was like eight or seven.
01:27Very young kids.
01:28And since then you've been playing against each other growing up ?
01:31Yeah, we played throughout the years,
01:33and then missed each other in college and then in the NBA.
01:36Is it me or he's somehow trying to model his game after yours ?
01:41I don't know if you see what I'm talking about.
01:43You know like when he gets that sidestep pull-up ?
01:45I don't know, it kind of looks like yours, you know ?
01:47I don't know, I haven't noticed that.
01:49Maybe though, I don't know.
01:50Maybe though, I don't know.
01:51Yeah ?
01:52The reason I'm asking is, you know, I've been working around the league for a long time now,
01:56and I know you guys, especially top guys, you know,
01:59you usually get inspiration from other players.
02:02And I'm curious about who's your inspiration ?
02:04Yeah, I watch a lot of like Allen Iverson and Kobe Bryant growing up.
02:09Those two guys, I watch relentlessly growing up,
02:14just trying to like mimic their movements and their style of play.
02:17It's funny because the reason I'm asking this is, I was going to say like,
02:20when I see you play, I see Kobe Bryant.
02:22You know when you make a shot, after you make a shot and you roll up that arm sleeve,
02:26I see Kobe doing that.
02:27Crazy.
02:28Is that something that you do on purpose or like, do you realize that ?
02:33No, I think my arm sleeve is just rolling down and I need it to come back up.
02:36Probably he's too back then.
02:37Yeah.
02:38Probably the same though.
02:39Shea, I'm curious, what's the long-term goal for you in this league ?
02:42I want to be one of the best players to ever play the game.
02:46I want to be in those conversations with guys like Kobe, LeBron, Steph, Magic, Shaq,
02:56to name a few obviously.
02:58But I want to be one of the best ever players.
03:00Do you feel like you're on track to achieve that ?
03:02It's hard to, it's so hard to say. So much has to go in to getting to that level.
03:12And I'm still so far away. But I think if I keep doing what I'm doing, I think I can get there one day for sure.
03:20And it seems like the pieces are getting together here in OKC, right ? Like you guys are on the way to maybe get a first ring and you know, like you got a young core of players.
03:30Do you feel like the whole family here in OKC is here to stay for a long time ?
03:34Yeah, I think so. We are above all, like you said, young talent. We win a lot of games.
03:42But I think above all, we have fun and we enjoy being around each other. We enjoy going to work. We enjoy road trips.
03:49We enjoy everything together. And so it's allowed everything to be fun around us. It's allowed us to have success.
03:54Because at the end of the day, we're just having fun like a bunch of kids.
03:57It's good to hear. You know, Shay, I'm French. So I got to tell you, there's a possibility that I have a French informant on your team who's told me a few things.
04:07Like, I'm not going to say his name, but I've heard that you would not play FIFA against him because you're afraid to lose. Is that true ?
04:14That is definitely Ouzman Jeng.
04:17Is he right though ?
04:18Yeah, he is. Yeah. I watched him play one time and he was too good. So I was just like, let me not waste my time.
04:23Why? Who are you playing with though ?
04:25I used to play against Lou a lot. That was a long time ago, Lou. That was like maybe, that was like four or five years out.
04:32Like now, I have kids. I have wife. Like, I don't have time for FIFA anymore. So I gave the video games up. The kids play video games. And I do real men things, you know.
04:41So that's why Ouzman is winning.
04:43Exactly. He's still young. He's like 18.
04:45Yeah, well, pretty much, yeah.
04:47You know, I was also talking to Lou the other day and he confessed that he's still a bit mad to us about us because of the Olympics. What about you? Are you? Or not?
04:59No, I'm over it completely.
05:01Why did it sound like you're lying to me?
05:03Yeah, it sucks. It was very fun though. Like the environment. Obviously, we were in Paris for a little bit, but the whole country of France is beautiful. It was a great experience. Super fun to do that with guys that I grew up with playing with.
05:18Yeah, hopefully we get you guys back next Olympics. It was fun though.
05:21I was going to say, I told Lou there's the start of a new rivalry, it seems like, between Canada and France on the international level. Would you agree?
05:28Yeah, there's so many young French players in the NBA that I didn't even know of that were French, but there's a lot of young talent.
05:36It feels like every other year you guys have a number one draft pick. It's crazy, but they're coming. Yeah, for sure.
05:43Nice. Chase, thank you so much for the time. It was a pleasure talking to you and good luck for the rest of the finals.
05:47Thank you.
05:48Thanks, man. Thank you.
05:50Cool. You guys have a good day. You too. I appreciate it.
