00:12intriguing fight with a former champion looking at back to the top while a potential future

00:17challenger is looking to break through and in the co-main event ditto a very interesting night ahead

00:25we start with Kamaru Usman against Joaquin Buckley for Usman he needs a big performance

00:29that this is one of the former pound-for-pound greats who has stumbled in the last little bit

00:35it has been a couple of years since Leon Edwards had kicked him into the loss column for the first

00:40time in a long time and now he hasn't been able to get out so what do we need here from Kamaru Usman

00:46in this fight well we need that urgency because a loss here and it might be over for him in terms of

00:53challenging for a championship again it is a long road anyway a loss here and it honestly like I'm

00:59not going to retire anyone if he's in good shape and he wants to keep doing these things I will let

01:03him do that but um it might be might be time to to check out some other ventures that that is what

01:10we are dealing with for Kamaru Usman in this contest this evening I like I I think that there is a lot

01:18to prove for him if he has anything left in the tank this is the time to show that because the

01:22relevancy of his UFC like current career goes away very quickly with a loss in this fight I I just

01:31wonder why we're doing this at 170 pounds if we're Kamaru Usman like I I understand former great at the

01:38weight class and all those things but he like we've talked about before in boxing guys when they get

01:45older just based on how the body doesn't shed weight anymore or anything like that what we we see guys

01:51move up in weight he is sticking around at this weight class and I just I don't understand it like

01:55his one venture up to 185 pounds was against Hamzat Chemaev on short notice and now it's like nope not

02:01doing that again and moving back down like I just I don't understand it I I really really don't so I I

02:07I just want him to put himself in the best spot to succeed I have appreciated his career greatly and I

02:14would like to see it continue and I don't know if 170 pounds 170 pounds sorry is the spot for him

02:22uh but that wrestling game is going to have to be on point tonight um Joaquin Buckley is a a skilled

02:26fighter a skilled striker and so I don't think this is just simply striker versus grappler but it is guy

02:33who is much more comfortable striking against guy who would be much more comfortable grappling so this

02:38if the crowd's booing it's a good night for Kamaru Usman um I think that wrestling game needs to be

02:42solid for him in this fight against Buckley who was getting a major opportunity he got his headline

02:47making win against Colby Covington that let him sit at the table and now he is really looking to eat

02:53against the former pound for pound king in the UFC everyone knows him for the KO right like it is the

03:00the pro wrestling enziguri where he kicked guys nose into the back of his brain um it is incredible but he

03:06is much more than that hey that was five years ago that was during the pandemic um but

03:12you have now a fighter who like there aren't a whole lot of just like one hit or quitters

03:17on the resume he has put together some five or three round game plans anyway and gone late into

03:24fights and had to make adjustments and everything like that so you have a fighter who certainly has

03:29kind of found his way with all of that the one thing about that though is it would be almost better

03:36if he was the one hitter quitter kind of guy because Usman is tough to put away in that style

03:42so if Usman has like peak Usman wins this fight and it's not relatively close how close is Usman to

03:50that peak we will find out here again in just a few short hours I want to see as we are recording this

03:57one today not live um as we are recording this one today uh what are we looking at uh odds wise here

04:03let's just go to that let's go all the way down to the bottom um oh Buckley is a huge favorite in

04:11this one so you know what might not might be worth a little sprinkle of uh Kamara Usman on there

04:17to uh to get the job done because I do think there is certainly a path to victory for him

04:51in the tank um she is someone who had a very good run kind of post championship now again

04:57got back on her feet and one more time great run but there was a setback can she get up out of that

05:05one more time traditionally we haven't seen many people get out of that traditionally though they

05:11don't have the mental fortitude that a Rose Nami Yunus has so if anyone can do it it is her but it

05:17again it needs to happen now because I think another loss here and it just doesn't happen

05:21for her so a gigantic fight for Rose Nami Yunus against Miranda Maverick who had the like top

05:27prospect title for a while and got elevated I think a little bit too quickly and so she got too much too

05:33soon hit a rough patch I think it was losing three of four and now worked her way back up like she went

05:41back to the drawing board and wasn't just like okay I lost to some top five but what about top seven

05:45she's like no I'm gonna go all the way down let's work our way back up and now she has built her

05:49skills up to the point where she seems very dangerous in this fight um she's incredibly athletic

05:56she is very very talented this is a dangerous dangerous opponent for Rose Nami Yunus coming up

06:02in this fight tonight and so it is a great opportunity for her to come out and get a massive win

06:08here on this stage so a very intriguing UFC fight night happening tonight in Atlanta
