00:00This is a good one.
00:01I think maybe I watched How to Train Your Dragon for the first time in school.
00:03And you thought I'm going to be him one day.
00:05No, this can't be the end.
00:13So Niko, this is Aryan from Golden Screen Cinemas Malaysia.
00:16I'll just give you a short backstory of my experience with How to Train Your Dragon.
00:20My dad brought me from school over to the cinemas and I was eight years old.
00:25It was my first 3D movie ever.
00:27No way.
00:28I got to see this a few days ago.
00:32I'm so happy with the outcome.
00:33You guys did not fumble it.
00:35It was amazing.
00:37I was curious, what are some of your personal memories of the first film?
00:42I can't even recall when I saw the first film because I was so young.
00:45I've seen it so many times and that movie means so much to me.
00:49And getting to be in this world and bring it to life to a new level, it's such an honor.
00:53My first memories of, you know, anything How to Train Your Dragon actually do kind of begin classically with the books.
01:00Because my dad used to read me and my sister the books when I was little.
01:03So that was very much a kind of part of my childhood.
01:07I think it might have been the eighth book or something.
01:08I'm not sure.
01:09There's a really big cliffhanger at the end.
01:11And I remember us being like, oh, no, this can't be the end.
01:14And so, you know, I have really fond memories of that.
01:17And then seeing the movies, I've seen them a billion times.
01:20I can't even remember the first time I saw the first one.
01:22I saw the second and third in theaters.
01:26The first, I can't remember at all seeing it for the first time.
01:29But, you know, this is a franchise that I think we all know and love very well.
01:32And the fact that we get to be in it in any capacity is...
01:34I think maybe I watched How to Train Your Dragon for the first time in school.
01:38Really?
01:38I think so.
01:40Really?
01:40Yeah, because you never have those days in school where they play a movie.
01:43I'm pretty sure that's where I saw it.
01:44And you thought, I'm going to be him one day.
01:45Yeah, I was looking at it and I was like, I'm going to be a loser.
01:47I'm super jealous, Mason.
01:49I mean, you got to ride an animatronic dragon with test drive being played in the background.
01:54What was going through your mind while filming that scene?
01:57And what was that overall experience like?
01:59Oh, my God.
02:00I remember when we first got to set that day and, you know, I was on the dragon and we started shooting.
02:05When you're on a mechanical, basically, bull just going like this over and over again, it can feel a little weird.
02:10And my mom came up and she was like, hey, can we put the test drive music on the speakers?
02:14And they were like, okay, sure, let's try it.
02:17The music went on and I started going and immediately it just, I felt this energy and the magic that, you know, test drive itself creates.
02:27And, you know, doing that and, you know, hearing the music and riding the dragon in my head was awesome.
02:34Nico, you've mentioned that stunts aren't exactly your strongest suit.
02:37But was there one stunt that you were particularly proud of pulling off in this film?
02:42The way that the NADA fight looks, I'm really happy with because in the moment of filming it, there was something there.
02:49But it was difficult because it was lots of flailing and not a lot of hitting because there wasn't actually anything there.
02:55So it was very much just sort of a guessing game at times.
02:58And then seeing the final product of that fight, I feel super happy with and super proud of, you know, in its most raw form.
03:04It's just literally me with an axe, swing, flailing in an insane way and grunting a lot.
03:11And so, you know, everyone's kind of like, she looks really weird.
03:14And so actually seeing the final product is very, very cool.
03:16You were pretty badass.
03:17Yeah, I'll give you that.
03:18Well, was there a specific trait, line or a scene where you thought, if I get this right, I would have truly captured who Hiccup and Astrid are?
03:27This is a good one.
03:28I feel like, to me, the scene on the cliff, just because it was our chemistry read and that's where it kind of all started and it was the reason we got the jobs.
03:37That, for me, was the most special scene for Hiccup and Astrid.
03:41I think from saying, but he's really frightened now, what are you going to do about it?
03:46That's like some of my favorite bits.
03:48It just feels very, like, tension building in a way for their relationship and also just for like the rest of the movie and what the movie will then become.
03:56And I just remember filming that and being like, this feels like a big deal, not only just for the movie, but also for us, because that's, you know, how we got the job, but also just for all of it.
04:06It felt like a huge deal.
04:07And so to get to see that on a big screen is very, very cool.
04:10Well, Mason, Nico, my time's up.
04:12Thank you so much for that answer.
04:14You have made eight-year-old Arjen very happy.
04:17Thank you guys.
04:18Thank you so much.
04:18Thank you for coming, man.
