00:06The pair, who both starred in the film It Ends With Us,

00:09have been locked in a legal battle for several months,

00:11with a trial set for next year.

00:13But on Monday, Judge Louis Lehman dismissed Baldoni's countersuit,

00:17which alleged extortion, defamation and other allegations.

00:20His lawsuit centred on two claims,

00:22that Lively stole the film from him and his company Wayfarer

00:25by threatening not to promote it,

00:27and that she and others promoted a false narrative

00:30that Baldoni sexually assaulted her

00:31and launched a smear campaign against her,

00:34Judge Lehman explained in his opinion.

00:36The judge concluded that Baldoni and his production company

00:38have not adequately alleged that Lively's threats were wrongful extortion.

00:42In a statement, Lively's lawyers called the dismissal

00:45a total victory and a complete vindication for Blake Lively.

00:48Baldoni brought the suit after Lively filed a legal complaint last year

00:52against her former co-star,

00:53accusing him of sexual harassment and starting a smear campaign against her.

00:57The BBC has contacted Baldoni's lawyers for comments.
