00:14She condemned the violence in L.A.

00:19Well, you think I don't condemn it?

00:21I condemn the violence in L.A., ladies and gentlemen.

00:24But I also stopped the violence in L.A.

00:26And by doing what I did, I stopped the violence in L.A.

00:30That would have been, I think, maybe I'd ask Christy to speak to that.

00:34That would have been an unbelievable tragedy.

00:38We would be talking, I don't know, that would even be here right now.

00:41It would have been so bad.

00:42I'd probably maybe be out there.

00:44I don't know.

00:44But Christy, could you speak to that?

00:46Absolutely.

00:47So in 2020, I was a governor of a neighboring state to Tim Walz and watched him let his city burn.

00:52And the president and I have talked about this in the past, and he was not going to let that happen.

00:56And to another city and to another community where a bad governor made a bad decision.

01:01So Claudia Scheinbaum came out and encouraged more protests in L.A., and I condemn her for that.

01:07She should not be encouraging violent protests that are going on.

01:10People are allowed to peacefully protest, but the violence that we're seeing is not acceptable,

01:15and it's not going to happen in America.

01:17This president is standing up for the average American who wants to walk their child to school every day safely,

01:23run their small business, and provide for their families.

01:26That's the action that he's taking.

01:28He has every authority under the Constitution to send these National Guard under Title X into these communities

01:35and make sure that operations go smoothly, that law enforcement officers are protected,

01:39that they can continue to do their work without fear of being injured or killed or disrespected,

01:46and that they can go home to their families at night.

01:47So I'm incredibly proud of the president for activating the National Guard

01:51and for sending in these Marines because these Marines are specifically trained to meet the need

01:56that we have on the ground in L.A. right now.

01:58And Governor Newsom has done a disservice to the state of California for many years.

02:03The people there should never elect him into a leadership position ever again.

02:08The governor's a nice guy, but he's grossly incompetent.

02:11When it comes to his railroad that he's building, where it's like 30 times over budget,

02:15nobody's ever seen anything like it.

02:16Now it doesn't even go to San Francisco and L.A.

02:19It's way short of it.

02:20After years of work and overruns like nobody's,

02:24those contractors are some of the wealthiest people in the world, I guarantee you that,

02:28because that money goes to those contractors.

02:30They just did a number on the wallet of the people of California.

02:35That train, you should look at that train.

02:38That is the greatest.

02:38I've never seen cost overruns.

02:40I've seen cost overruns and great incompetence over my life.

02:44I've never seen anything like that.

02:46Mr. President, these protests.

02:47Let's do this.
