02:47But the big story that we are breaking this evening, the Megalaya police has claimed that the big honeymoon murder has been cracked.
03:08The wife and four others, including an alleged accomplice, have been held for Raja Raghuwanshi's murder.
03:19Remember, the couple had gone on a honeymoon and this is where the story got a twist.
03:24Now, the Megalaya police says it was the wife who had taken a supari or given a supari for the killing of her husband.
03:34Sonam has undergone a medical checkup in Ghazipur from where the family comes from.
03:39The prime suspect is Raj Kushwar.
03:42Sonam was allegedly in a relationship with him.
03:45The suspects are to be taken to Megalaya, we are told now.
03:49The Megalaya police wants to further interrogate them.
03:53But that is the dramatic twist that has taken place.
03:56A wife allegedly gave a supari for the killing of her husband while they were on a honeymoon.
04:04Let's take a look at just why this crime story is our top story tonight.
04:09A romantic honeymoon that ended in betrayal, blood and handcuffs.
04:19The Raja Raghuwanshi murder case in Meghalaya took a stunning turn when his wife Sonam Raghuwanshi was arrested in Ghazipur in Uttar Pradesh.
04:30Sources say Sonam called her home after 1 a.m. on Monday.
04:34Her family informed Indaur police who in turn alerted their counterparts in Ghazipur.
04:41Sonam was picked up by UP police from a dhaba in Ghazipur.
04:46A tea stall owner who claims to have seen her reach the dhaba claims Sonam looked composed.
05:04The Meghalaya police claim Sonam allegedly hired three killers.
05:17Akash, Anand and Vishal alias Vicky to get her husband killed.
05:23Raja Raghuwanshi and Sonam, both from Indaur, had gone on a honeymoon trip to Meghalaya.
05:46They were last seen on May 23rd.
05:48On June 2nd, Raja's body was found in a gorge.
05:53Injury marks revealed he was stabbed.
05:56The wife, however, was missing.
05:59The police allege Raj Kushwaha, an employee at Sonam's father's factory, has emerged as a central figure in the crime.
06:09Sources claim Sonam and Kushwaha were romantically involved before the marriage.
06:14So far, five suspects, Sonam, Kushwaha and three alleged killers are arrested.
06:22What began as a missing person case has exploded into a suspected contract killing,
06:30complete with love, lies and hired blades.
06:34With Arvind Oja, Santosh Sharma and Samarth Srivastav, Bureau Report, India Today.
06:41Joining me now is our correspondent Aparamita Ardaas.
06:49She is live from Shillong, where she is tracking this story.
06:52Aparamita, we are now told that the Meghalaya police is trying to ensure that the suspects are brought to Shillong.
07:01I know this case has had huge political repercussions.
07:03Questions were raised over safety in Shillong.
07:06What are you picking up?
07:07What is the police telling you?
07:08The police, first and foremost, that they said was locals have nothing to do with it as it was alleged earlier.
07:18While people of Meghalaya earlier said that it could have been some miscreants,
07:22but people from Indore, the Raja, beat Raja or Sonam Raghupanshi's family,
07:26did not even think once but came to the conclusion saying Meghalaya people must have done something.
07:32So this is the first thing that police said that Meghalaya locals had nothing to do with it.
07:36Now, regarding the weapon that was discovered by the police on 2nd of June, near the body of Raja Raghupanshi,
07:45was also alleged earlier that it could have been a weapon that is used by a traditional weapon used by the Khasis.
07:53But later on, today, the police said that it was actually purchased from Guwahati and has nothing to do with Meghalaya.
07:59Police said that yesterday, two teams from Meghalaya had gone and they arrested the first accused at 10 p.m.,
08:08followed by other arrests.
08:10And then it was Sonam Raghupanshi.
08:12And then in the afternoon today, Meghalaya police, in coordination with MP and UP police,
08:19arrested the fourth accused, including Sonam Raghupanshi, that makes five accused.
08:24And police said that they are not going to get a transit remand and bring all the four accused to Meghalaya.
08:34And they are very confident that they have caught the right people?
08:39They believe that they have cracked the case?
08:42Yes, they believe that they have cracked the case because they have all the right evidences that pointed to these same people.
08:49So, three people who were actually seen in the CCTV footage near Sonam and Raja Raghupanshi,
08:57turns out to be the same people who were caught with police.
08:59Anand, Akash and Vishal.
09:03So, these three people were seen in the CCTV footage that the police had retrieved a few days ago.
09:07So, they are confident that these are the people.
09:09Also, they had found...
09:11And what is the motive?
09:12And is the motive very clear?
09:15Have they got a clear motive for this crime?
09:17They are yet to reveal, make a big revelation, but they also pointed out to it being a love triangle,
09:24as most people had earlier anticipated.
09:27So, this could be a case of love triangle because they are alleging that Raj Khushbaba was actually Sonam Raghupanshi's illicit lover.
09:37And with him, she planned the murder.
09:39And also, when they found Sonam Raghupanshi, it was surprising that she did not have any kind of injury to her body.
09:43And she mentioned that, now she is claiming that Raj Raghupan, she died while trying to protect her.
09:51But if he was trying to protect her and that's how he passed away, that's how he was killed,
09:55she should have been harmed a bit.
09:57At least, that's what I feel.
09:58Right.
09:59Okay.
10:00For all those details, Aparamita Das, joining me from Shillong.
10:03Thank you so much.
10:04It's a case we've been tracking.
10:06It's a case which has even involved the Chief Minister, Konrad Sangma, who's now issued a statement,
10:11do not damn the people of the North East and my state of Meghalaya so easily.
10:16The crime that has been committed is very different.
10:19Okay, let's turn from a crime story to politics, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi has completed
10:24the first year of his third term as the Prime Minister.
10:27Remember, he was sworn in on this day a year ago.
10:30To mark the occasion, the BJP has launched a nationwide outreach campaign,
10:35hailing what they say are the achievements of the Modi government.
10:39BJP President J.P. Narendra fronted up, hailing Prime Minister Modi,
10:44claiming that they've moved from a government of appeasement to that of performance.
10:50The Congress Party wants to ask, why is the Prime Minister, though,
10:54not holding a press conference and taking any questions?
10:57Take a look at our other top story.
11:01Modi 3.0 completes one year.
11:17Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday launched a Jan Man survey to mark the occasion.
11:22In a message posted on X, the Prime Minister invited citizens
11:28to give their feedback on the last 11 years of India's growth journey.
11:33BJP President J.P. Narendra held a press briefing
11:36listing achievements of the NDA government in its 11-year rule
11:40from lifting 25 crore people from poverty to fighting terrorism.
11:50He has confronted from the front.
11:53He has confronted from the front.
11:54He has never said anything about it.
11:55Pradhan Mantri Ji has confronted him in front of his face.
11:59He has said that in the first form,
12:00he has said that any terrorist attack will be able to explain the act of war.
12:05The principal opposition party, the Congress, held its own press meet,
12:23releasing two booklets that the party claimed exposes the NDA government.
12:27One of the first themes that they highlight
12:31is about taking care of the poor and the marginalised.
12:36They are very happy that 81 crore people are getting free fruit grains.
12:42But the basic point of hunger is a much larger crisis in India.
12:47And this crisis puts us at 105 out of 127 countries in the World Hunger Index.
12:57Prime Minister Narendra Modi's third term is different from his first two
13:02as this time the BGP is dependent on allies after falling short of majority.
13:08But the BGP has bounced back, winning assembly elections in Haryana
13:12and Maharashtra defying heavy odds.
13:16How the Modi government pursues its core agenda
13:19that includes uniform civil code
13:21and simultaneously elections for Lok Sabha assemblies
13:24will decide the politics of coming years.
13:27Bureau Report, India Today.
13:32Okay, so let's raise the question.
13:34What are the hits and misses of Modi 3.0?
13:38Will the Modi government push simply the BJP's core agenda even now?
13:43What is the Modi government's biggest challenge going ahead?
13:47Just some of the questions we will raise.
13:49Yogendra Yadav is a co-founder of Swaraj India.
13:51He's been a critic of this government.
13:52Rajat Sethi, political commentator, has been a supporter of the Modi government.
13:57Shama Mohammed, National Spokesperson Congress.
13:59Sanju Verma, National Spokesperson of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
14:04I'm going to come to the politicians later, if I may,
14:07because I think we know where they stand.
14:09But I'm going to ask Rajat Sethi and Yogendra Yadav a simple question.
14:14Rajat Sethi, what, according to you,
14:16is the biggest achievement of Mr. Modi in his third term
14:19and what's the biggest failing?
14:23Well, Rajat Sethi, you know, if you go by basic lessons of leadership,
14:28a leader is somebody who raises the chin
14:30and, you know, gives a larger horizon to the people
14:34to look at, aspire for something bigger,
14:38try and aim, set your objectives and your goals
14:41in such a way that you can all collectively get together
14:45behind a common mission.
14:47And I think that is the job of the leader.
14:48I mean, you can't expect him that he's the single one
14:51who is going to ensure that all roads are built
14:54or all, you know, investment is brought.
14:56He has to lay out the framework.
14:58He has to ensure that people's might,
15:02the might of 150 crore Indians,
15:04is put all in one direction.
15:06And I think this is what he's been able to achieve.
15:08He has brought in a degree of mission-orientedness
15:11to multiple of his objectives.
15:13Today, we are talking about defence.
15:15Look at the clarion call that Prime Minister has given
15:18and the kind of translation it has gone into
15:20people who used to code.
15:22Today, code is meeting steel.
15:24And, you know, drone capacities to air defence capacities
15:27are now all homegrown.
15:29This vision that we can also achieve
15:32and make all of these equipments
15:33that are fundamental to our security concerns
15:35and security calculus
15:36was just not available with us.
15:39That framework, that frame of thinking
15:41wasn't available.
15:42Okay, that's the hit.
15:43What's the miss?
15:44What's the miss?
15:46You know, personally, if you ask me,
15:48what I feel is
15:49that where his greater control
15:52could have been
15:53in terms of bringing in administrative reforms.
15:59Okay.
16:00We've froze.
16:01Yeah, go ahead.
16:03Well, what I feel is
16:04that what is holding India back still today
16:06is the old stone-edge bureaucratic structures.
16:11And I think Prime Minister Modi
16:12should have done far more
16:13to bring in administrative reforms
16:15to allow more domain-specific experts
16:18to come into the system,
16:20not fall prey to what Rahul Gandhi says around...
16:23Okay, I've heard Rajat Sethi.
16:29We're having some problem
16:30with the audio, Rajat,
16:31but you made the point
16:32administrative reforms
16:33needed to be speeded up
16:34is a miss.
16:35Hit is, you believe,
16:36an element of decisive,
16:38cohesive leadership provided.
16:40Yogendra Yadav,
16:41what's the biggest hit of Modi 3.0,
16:43the biggest miss,
16:45according to you?
16:46Rajdeep, I agree with Rajat
16:52that something like this,
16:54an occasion like this,
16:5511 years,
16:56it's an unprecedented period,
16:58not just for India,
16:59by global standards.
17:00We should look at the big picture.
17:02All other minor little details,
17:04a few points of government achievement,
17:05these are things
17:06that anyone can mobilize.
17:08If you ask me,
17:09biggest hit of Mr. Modi
17:10of the last one year
17:11was electoral political.
17:13his ability to come out
17:16of that very serious setback
17:19of 2024,
17:21where after he was leading
17:22a government without Iqbal,
17:25but in Haryana,
17:26in Maharashtra,
17:27there are lots of questions
17:28to be answered,
17:30but purely in terms
17:32of political achievement,
17:34he's managed to bring back
17:35his government,
17:36the Iqbal that it lost
17:38during the 2024 elections
17:40in terms of administrative capacity,
17:42in terms of having
17:43a government
17:44that can take decisions.
17:47In terms of misses,
17:49I really think
17:50it's a story of misses,
17:52because a government,
17:54looking at the big picture
17:55of a leadership,
17:57it is seen in terms
17:58of material and moral advancement
18:00of the country.
18:02In terms of material advancement,
18:04I think it's only fair to say
18:06that our economy
18:07isn't doing well,
18:09I don't want to get into
18:11specific GDP figures,
18:12this or that,
18:13but basically economy,
18:15as far as it concerns
18:16ordinary people,
18:18is stuck very badly,
18:20livelihood conditions are bad,
18:23unemployment is unmanageable,
18:26and there doesn't appear
18:27to be any overall vision,
18:30any overall plans
18:31to overcome it.
18:32As for moral,
18:34I think it's only fair
18:36to say
18:36that Mr. Modi
18:38belongs to that category
18:39to which Donald Trump,
18:42earlier Boris Johnson,
18:43belonged.
18:44These are people,
18:45you know,
18:46Rajat said,
18:47leaders who keep
18:48your chin up.
18:49I think those who keep
18:50everyone's chin up
18:52are leaders
18:53who are tall,
18:54morally tall,
18:55who are seen
18:56to be truthful.
18:58Boris Johnson was not,
18:59Donald Trump is not,
19:00and Narendra Modi is not.
19:03A leader who can
19:04peddle a lie
19:05during the address
19:06to the nation
19:07on the ceasefire question,
19:09remember,
19:10he said,
19:11Pakistan ki taraf se
19:12kaha gaya
19:13ki hum aage se
19:14kabhi
19:14Atankubadi
19:15aur
19:16Sainne Atikraman
19:17nahi kareenge
19:18fir hum ne vichar kiya.
19:20I mean,
19:20this is the greatest lie
19:21spoken by any
19:22prime minister of India.
19:24So,
19:24in terms of moral advancement,
19:26it's moral regress.
19:27When people see
19:28their leaders speaking lies,
19:30then it reduces them
19:32and,
19:33let us not forget,
19:34moral decline
19:35in terms of
19:36sheer divisiveness,
19:38whether it's Kashmir,
19:39whether it's Manipur,
19:40or the eternal
19:41Hindu-Muslim question,
19:43we have seen
19:43divisiveness increase.
19:46So,
19:46to my mind,
19:47finally,
19:48the third term
19:48is a term
19:49characterized
19:50by tiredness.
19:52Earlier,
19:53he had jumlahs,
19:54he had plans,
19:55he had new announcements.
19:57Now,
19:57he just looks tired,
19:59someone who has
19:59no new idea
20:00left to himself.
20:02Okay.
20:02I've heard both of you.
20:04I'm going to come to
20:05the politicians
20:05in a moment.
20:06I know Sanju Verma
20:07is very keen
20:08to dive in.
20:10Sanju ji,
20:11just a minute.
20:11I'm just putting
20:12a graphic
20:13to show
20:13what I see
20:14as Modi 3.0,
20:16our team saw
20:16as report card pluses.
20:18A,
20:19the BJP
20:19is definitely
20:20politically stronger.
20:21One major state election.
20:23Yogan Dariyadav
20:23also concedes that.
20:25Economy is still
20:26holding firm
20:26despite global headwinds.
20:28The latest numbers,
20:29GDP numbers,
20:30came at
20:306.5
20:32for the entire
20:33financial year,
20:347.4
20:35for the last quarter.
20:36This despite
20:37global headwinds.
20:38Now,
20:38infrastructure projects
20:40remain on track.
20:41The fact is,
20:42whether it's
20:42road building,
20:43whether it's
20:44other infrastructure
20:45related projects,
20:46the Modi government
20:47has speeded up
20:48many of these
20:49projects.
20:50On Operation Sindhu,
20:53the government
20:53has established
20:54a new template
20:55for the fight
20:56against terror.
20:57And Prime Minister
20:58Modi's leadership
20:59remains stable
21:00and unchallenged,
21:01a point that
21:02Rajat Sethi
21:03also alluded to.
21:04Now,
21:05on the weaknesses,
21:06the minuses,
21:07charges of cronyism
21:08and misuse
21:09of institutions
21:10like Enforcement
21:11Directorate
21:12haunts the Modi
21:13government.
21:14The economic growth
21:15has been uneven.
21:16Manufacturing
21:16still remains
21:17a major concern.
21:19Centre-state
21:20relations
21:20remain fraught.
21:22Manipur unrest
21:23still hasn't
21:24been controlled.
21:24We've got reports
21:25even now
21:26of sporadic
21:27violence taking
21:28place in that
21:28state.
21:29And the Prime
21:29Minister
21:29hasn't addressed
21:31an open press
21:32conference even
21:33once in 11 years.
21:34Forget about
21:35the last one.
21:36Sanju Verma,
21:37you've heard
21:38the hits and misses.
21:39You've heard
21:39what Yogendra
21:40Yadav and Rajat
21:41Sethi said.
21:41You tell me,
21:42what according to you
21:43is the biggest hit
21:44and the biggest
21:44miss of the
21:45Modi government?
21:50You know,
21:51Rajat,
21:51first and foremost,
21:52let me give you
21:52the hits.
21:53There is not
21:54just one single
21:54hit,
21:55but there are
21:55many hits.
21:56And the hits
21:57are these.
21:5844 lakh crore
21:59transfer to the
22:00poor and needy
22:01via the direct
22:02benefit transfer
22:03scheme.
22:0410 crore women
22:05today don't have
22:06to, you know,
22:08enter a kitchen
22:08filled with smoke
22:09thanks to PM
22:10Ujwala Yojana
22:11which has led
22:12to smokeless
22:13kitchens.
22:14You have more
22:14than 4 crore
22:15houses given
22:16to the poor
22:16and needy
22:17via Pradhan
22:17Mantri
22:18Ava's Yojana.
22:19You have
22:1916,000 Jan
22:21Aushiti
22:21Kendras
22:22where the
22:23poor and
22:23needy get
22:23medicines at
22:24a discount
22:25of anywhere
22:26between 75
22:27to 90%.
22:28You have 50
22:29crore people
22:30who have been
22:31covered under
22:32the Ayushman
22:33Bharat scheme,
22:33the world's
22:34largest health
22:34insurance scheme.
22:36You have 43
22:37crore applications
22:39being processed
22:40under the
22:41Mudra Yojana
22:41with 68%
22:42beneficiaries
22:43being women.
22:44It's the
22:45world's largest
22:46self-employment
22:46scheme.
22:47You have more
22:48than 12 crore
22:49toilets.
22:5012 crore toilets
22:51that were built
22:52under the
22:52Swachh Bharat
22:53Abhiyan
22:53and more than
22:554,700 cities
22:56are completely
22:57ODF,
22:58open,
22:59defecation
22:59free.
23:00Then you have
23:01inflation
23:02which today
23:03retail inflation
23:04is 3.16%
23:06vegetable inflation
23:07minus 11%,
23:09food inflation
23:10just 1.78%.
23:12Then let's look
23:13at jobs.
23:14In the last
23:1511 years,
23:16this is RBI.
23:17RBI saying
23:18that we added
23:1917.9 crore
23:21jobs vis-Ă -vis
23:22the Congress
23:23which added
23:23only 2.9 crore
23:25jobs from
23:262004 to
23:272014.
23:28In the last
23:2810 or 11
23:29odd years,
23:30the job growth
23:31has been 36%
23:32plus.
23:33Then let me
23:34tell you one
23:34more thing.
23:35the most
23:36important thing
23:36is this.
23:37Today we have
23:385.6 lakh
23:39startups.
23:41What about
23:41Mrs?
23:42Can I finish
23:42in 20 seconds?
23:43Okay,
23:44please do.
23:44Please do.
23:4520 seconds
23:46more.
23:46Today we have
23:471.6 lakh
23:48startups which
23:50make India
23:50the world's
23:51third largest
23:51startup ecosystem.
23:53We have over
23:53118 unicorns.
23:55But Rajdeep,
23:56I am so very
23:57proud.
23:58We have
23:58overtaken Japan
23:59to become
24:00the world's
24:01fourth largest
24:01economy.
24:03In just
24:0311 years,
24:04we added
24:052 trillion
24:06dollars to
24:07the Indian
24:07growth story.
24:10Whereas,
24:10our first
24:11trillion dollars
24:12came in
24:1360 years.
24:14And imagine
24:15in 11 years
24:15we have added
24:162 trillion
24:16dollars which
24:17means in
24:17the last
24:1811 years
24:18the GDP
24:19has grown
24:19by 110%.
24:21I am so
24:21gone to
24:22say,
24:22oh you
24:22know but
24:22our
24:23capital
24:23GDP
24:23is
24:24less.
24:24Last
24:25point.
24:26Last
24:27point.
24:27Last
24:28point.
24:28Yes,
24:29I will
24:29give you
24:30the
24:30miss,
24:30give me
24:3030
24:31seconds.
24:32It's
24:32a sensible
24:32debate.
24:33The last
24:33point is
24:34this,
24:35for
24:35everybody
24:35out
24:35there,
24:36you
24:37know,
24:37who are
24:37saying
24:37that
24:38per capita
24:38GDP
24:38is
24:39less
24:39than
24:39per capita
24:41household
24:42wealth.
24:43India's
24:43per capita
24:44household
24:44wealth is
24:45more than
24:4615,000
24:47dollars.
24:48And as
24:48far as
24:48misses go,
24:49Narendra Modi
24:50is a leader
24:51gone once
24:52in a
24:52millennium.
24:53You call
24:53me an
24:53Andhra
24:54Bhath,
24:54I don't
24:54care,
24:54you call
24:55me a
24:55Modi
24:55Bhath,
24:55you call
24:56me,
24:56anything.
24:57But
24:57it's
24:58only one
24:58miss
24:59is
24:59a
24:59message
25:00to
25:01Narendra Modi
25:01is a
25:02message.
25:03You know,
25:04not Rajdeep,
25:04but many
25:05people like
25:06Rajdeep,
25:06many people
25:07like
25:07Ravish Kumar,
25:08many people
25:08like
25:09Yogendra
25:09Yadav,
25:10many people
25:10like
25:11Abhisar
25:11Sharma,
25:12many people
25:12like
25:13Arfa
25:14Khanum
25:14Sherwani.
25:15They say
25:15Modi is
25:16a
25:16fascist.
25:17So
25:17Modi
25:18Ji
25:18freedom
25:19of
25:19speech
25:20is
25:20freedom
25:20of
25:21expression
25:21is
25:21saying
25:22Ravish Kumar
25:23Rajdeep
25:24Raj
25:24has
25:25written
25:26about
25:26your
25:26fascist
25:29chair.
25:30First
25:31of all,
25:33ma'am,
25:33it's wrong
25:34to raise
25:34names of
25:35people who
25:35cannot defend
25:36themselves on
25:36this show.
25:37You are
25:37welcome to
25:38say what
25:38you want
25:39about me.
25:39I don't
25:40think I've
25:40ever called
25:41Mr. Modi
25:41a fascist
25:42on the
25:42show.
25:43Let's
25:43be very
25:43clear about
25:44that.
25:44But
25:44that's
25:45your
25:45choice
25:45to use
25:46those
25:46words.
25:47There
25:47are
25:47contentious
25:47issues
25:48like
25:48you've
25:48raised.
25:48We
25:49will
25:49cross
25:49Japan
25:49only
25:50next
25:50year.
25:51The
25:51truth
25:51of the
25:52matter
25:52also
25:52is
25:52we
25:53are
25:53a
25:53very
25:54large
25:54sized
25:54economy.
25:55Yes,
25:55we've
25:55done
25:55well,
25:56but we
25:56can
25:56compare
25:57GDP
25:57in the
25:57Congress
25:58years
25:58and the
25:59BJP
25:59ruled
25:59years,
26:00UPA
26:00versus
26:00NDA.
26:01But
26:01Shama
26:01Mohamed,
26:02you give
26:03us your
26:03hits and
26:03misses very
26:04quickly.
26:05No,
26:05Rajdeep,
26:06I'm not
26:06going to
26:07give it
26:07to you
26:07quickly.
26:07You've
26:08given
26:08her a lot
26:08of
26:08time and
26:09I
26:09need
26:09my
26:09time
26:10too.
26:10So I
26:10can't
26:10be
26:10treated
26:11like a
26:12second
26:12grade
26:12citizen
26:13because
26:13we are
26:14not
26:14in
26:14power.
26:14Please go
26:15ahead.
26:15The more
26:17time you
26:17waste on
26:18that,
26:18please don't
26:18waste
26:19time.
26:19Give
26:19us your
26:19hits and
26:20misses.
26:20I want
26:20to reply
26:21to
26:21Rajat.
26:22He said
26:22he's a
26:24leader
26:24who we
26:25look up
26:25to.
26:26I was
26:29saddened,
26:30shocked
26:30and even
26:31my friends
26:32abroad
26:33when the
26:34Prime
26:34Minister
26:34of
26:34India
26:35in the
26:352024
26:36election
26:37rally
26:37said
26:37Congress
26:38party
26:39Is
26:47this
26:47what a
26:47Prime
26:48Minister
26:48of a
26:48country
26:49has to
26:49speak
26:49when he
26:50has won
26:51two times
26:52with a
26:52majority?
26:53It hurts
26:53me.
26:54Let me
26:54tell you,
26:55I am
26:55also a
26:56citizen of
26:56this
26:56country.
26:57The
26:58other
26:58very
26:58important
26:58thing,
26:59let's
26:59also not
26:59forget,
27:00this is
27:00the
27:00Prime
27:00Minister
27:01who
27:01accused
27:02Manmohan
27:03Singh
27:03and
27:04Hamid
27:04Ansari
27:04in
27:052017
27:05before
27:06the
27:06Gujarat
27:06election
27:07of
27:07conspiring
27:08of
27:08treason
27:09because
27:09they
27:10conspired
27:10with
27:11Pakistan
27:11for
27:12him
27:12to
27:12defeat
27:13him
27:13in
27:13the
27:13Gujarat
27:14election.
27:14Has
27:15anybody
27:15in the
27:16history
27:16of
27:16India
27:17done
27:17something
27:18like
27:18this,
27:18Rajat?
27:19You
27:19must
27:19answer
27:19to
27:20it.
27:20It is
27:20the
27:20first
27:21PM in
27:21the
27:21history
27:21of
27:22India
27:22because
27:22the
27:23Congress
27:23is
27:24always
27:24accused
27:24of
27:25being
27:25with
27:25Pakistan.
27:26The
27:26first
27:26Prime
27:26Minister
27:27in
27:27the
27:27history
27:27of
27:27India
27:28was
27:28invited
27:28a
27:29Pakistani
27:29Prime
27:30Minister
27:30for
27:31his
27:31swearing
27:31in
27:312014.
27:32First
27:39is a
27:39terrorist
27:40organization
27:41to
27:42investigate
27:43the
27:43Pathan

27:44attack
27:44which
27:44the
27:44I.I.
27:45signed
27:45it.
27:46Let's
27:46understand
27:47where we
27:47stand.
27:47Let me
27:48get into
27:48figures.
27:50Sanjio
27:50Varma
27:50has gone
27:51on with
27:51data
27:52after
27:52data.
27:52We
27:53do not
27:53know who
27:53verifies
27:54this
27:54data.
27:55The
27:55last
27:55NCRB
27:56data came
27:57out in
27:572022.
27:58I want
27:59to know
27:59why I
28:00don't
28:00have
28:00a
28:002024
28:01data,
28:02why I
28:02don't
28:02have
28:03a
28:032023
28:03data.
28:04Data
28:05has
28:05been
28:05an
28:05issue.
28:06In
28:06the
28:06time
28:0980
28:12crore
28:12people
28:13get
28:13free
28:13food.
28:16At
28:16that
28:16time
28:16they
28:17were
28:17saying
28:17that
28:18we
28:18are
28:18doing
28:19very
28:19well.
28:22You
28:23will
28:23get
28:23equal
28:24time.
28:24I am
28:24monitoring
28:25her
28:25time.
28:25I am
28:26going to
28:28come to
28:28you for
28:28a
28:28miss.
28:29Just a
28:29minute.
28:29This is
28:31not right.
28:32You
28:32focus and
28:36tell me
28:37what are
28:37the
28:37hits.
28:37You
28:38told me
28:38the
28:38misses.
28:38I am
28:40talking
28:40about
28:40their
28:40problems.
28:4180
28:41crore
28:42people
28:42are
28:42given
28:42food
28:43out
28:44of
28:44140
28:44crore
28:45free
28:45food.
28:46We
28:46are
28:46105
28:47out
28:48of
28:48127
28:48countries
28:49in
28:49the
28:49hunger
28:50index.
28:50Then she
28:51talks about
28:52GDP.
28:53Let me
28:53tell you
28:54about
28:54manufacturing.
28:55India's
28:55manufacturing
28:56share to
28:56GDP
28:57during
28:57the
28:57Congress
28:58time
28:58was
28:58gone
28:59up
28:59by
28:5916.7%.
29:01Whereas
29:01manufacturing
29:02share to
29:02GDP
29:03has
29:03in
29:03the
29:0411
29:04years
29:04gone
29:04up
29:04by
29:05only
29:0513%.
29:06FDI
29:07is at
29:08rock
29:08bottom.
29:09It's gone
29:10down to
29:10in this
29:11year to
29:121.18
29:13billion.
29:142022 to
29:1523 was
29:1628 billion
29:17and last
29:18year 23 to
29:1824 was
29:1910.6
29:20billion.
29:20So FDI
29:21I'm asking
29:22you now
29:22one last
29:23time.
29:23Do you
29:23have a
29:23hit to
29:24give me?
29:25Do you
29:25have a
29:25hit?
29:25Is there
29:26nothing good
29:26that you've
29:27seen in
29:27this government?
29:28No.
29:28I'm telling
29:29you.
29:29There is
29:30nothing good
29:31about this
29:32government.
29:32That's what
29:32I'm trying
29:33to tell
29:33you.
29:33There is
29:33nothing good.
29:34Let me
29:35tell you.
29:35Also promises
29:36in 2022
29:375 trillion
29:38economy.
29:39No.
29:39In 2022
29:40we'll have
29:40100 smart
29:41cities.
29:42No.
29:42In 2022
29:43income of
29:44the
29:44government
29:45is adding
29:45roads much
29:46faster than
29:47the Congress
29:47governments did.
29:48Will you give
29:49them no credit?
29:51Will you give
29:51them no credit?
29:52I don't give
29:53them any credit
29:54because there's
29:54been so much
29:55of polarization
29:55also about
29:56Operation Sindhu
29:57again which
29:58hurt me.
29:59They have
29:59sent members
29:59of parliament
30:00abroad to
30:01talk.
30:01We all stood
30:02with the
30:02prime minister
30:03whether it's
30:03Muslim,
30:04Hindu,
30:04Sikh,
30:04we are
30:05Indians first.
30:06But what
30:06does Amit
30:07Shah go and
30:07tell him in
30:08West Bengal?
30:09That Mamata
30:10Banerjee is
30:10against Operation
30:11Sindhu because
30:12she wants to
30:13make her
30:14Muslim
30:14word band
30:15happy that
30:16says I'm
30:17against Operation
30:17Sindhu.
30:18So who
30:18will believe
30:19the prime
30:19minister of
30:20India when
30:20he sends
30:20these people?
30:21Okay you
30:21made your
30:22point ma'am.
30:22I have
30:23equal,
30:23no no,
30:24Shama
30:24Muhammad you
30:24got equal,
30:25no no no ma'am
30:26please put a
30:26fader down.
30:27You had equal
30:27time as
30:29Sanju
30:30Varma,
30:30I will not
30:31allow you
30:31more time,
30:32sorry.
30:34Rajat Sethi,
30:35you heard from
30:36Shama
30:36Muhammad and
30:37even Yogendra
30:38Yadav
30:38questioning in
30:39a way,
30:40they claim
30:40that the
30:41prime minister
30:41effectively,
30:42Yogendra
30:43Yadav virtually
30:44called him a
30:44liar,
30:45saying that even
30:46in the speech
30:47to the
30:47nation,
30:48he doesn't
30:48tell the
30:48nation the
30:49truth.
30:49How do you
30:50respond to
30:50this?
30:51This is a
30:51charge which a
30:52lot of critics
30:52make against the
30:53prime minister,
30:54that there is
30:54optics takeover
30:56from reality.
30:57What will you
30:57tell them?
30:58That there is an
30:59attempt almost to
30:59lie, use propaganda
31:01to promote
31:02achievements?
31:02Well, again,
31:06I mean, see,
31:08calling your
31:09prime minister
31:09as a liar,
31:10either you have
31:11facts at hand,
31:12or you are
31:13privy to the
31:14conference call,
31:15or you are
31:15a member of the
31:15conference call
31:16that was happening
31:17between the two
31:17DGMOs,
31:18then perhaps you
31:19can claim that.
31:20Otherwise,
31:20reaching to a
31:21conclusion where
31:22you are seeing
31:22that the prime
31:22minister is lying
31:23is a bit of a
31:24stretch,
31:24you should
31:25refrain.
31:26And I think
31:26making personal
31:27attacks doesn't
31:28yield benefits to
31:30the either side,
31:31and therefore we
31:31should refrain,
31:32of course question
31:34his Operation
31:34Sindhu handling,
31:35you can question
31:36his diplomatic
31:36handling,
31:37do that,
31:38but calling your
31:38prime minister
31:39as a liar without
31:41having the facts.
31:42I mean, if you
31:42are able to
31:43conjure up the
31:44facts, good,
31:45come on the
31:45debates and do
31:46that.
31:46I'll leave it
31:47here.
31:47For example,
31:48let me give a
31:49more, the
31:50government of
31:51India said,
31:51for example,
31:52for the longest
31:53time that about
31:55four and a
31:55half, just over
31:56four lakh people
31:57had died during
31:58COVID.
31:59Now we are
31:59told the number
32:00is as much as
32:0121.
32:0121 lakhs,
32:02the WHO
32:03puts the
32:04figure at
32:0440 lakhs.
32:05Is the
32:05government,
32:06the NDA
32:07government
32:07sometimes tagged
32:09as the no
32:10data available
32:11government?
32:11The government
32:12needs to be
32:12much more
32:13authentic with
32:13data.
32:15Well, see,
32:16Rajdeep, we
32:16can go out
32:18ad nauseum on
32:19this debate,
32:20whether
32:20classification of
32:22deaths that
32:23happened,
32:24did it happen
32:25in the perfect
32:25way?
32:26Is WHO
32:26what kind of
32:27a data and
32:27what kind of
32:28a methodology?
32:28post-facto
32:29did WHO
32:30have?
32:31I mean, I
32:32would rather
32:32go out and
32:32even question
32:33that.
32:34Why should
32:34we treat that
32:35WHO has said
32:35that is
32:36causeful truth
32:36and what the
32:37government is
32:37saying is
32:38patently
32:39untrue?
32:39I mean, I
32:40need to have
32:40more data in
32:41order to
32:41arrive at
32:42that conclusion.
32:43I don't have
32:44that data.
32:44The government
32:45doesn't tell us,
32:46Rajdeep, the
32:47government, for
32:47example, doesn't
32:48tell us where
32:49the Prime
32:49Minister's
32:50fund money
32:50has gone.
32:51Is this a
32:51non-transparent
32:52government?
32:53While it's a
32:54strong government,
32:54it's also
32:55non-transparent.
32:55For a fairly
32:57long time, how
32:58the deaths and
32:59births are
33:00recorded in our
33:01country didn't
33:02have separate
33:02columns for
33:03COVID in the
33:03very first
33:04place.
33:04There were
33:05technical issues.
33:06Now, do you
33:06want to do a
33:07separate survey just
33:08to arrive at a
33:08number?
33:09Is that what the
33:10government's job
33:10is?
33:11Clearly not.
33:11And it was
33:12established that
33:12Do you
33:13believe this
33:13is a
33:14transparent
33:14government?
33:15Do you
33:15believe the
33:15government is
33:15transparent?
33:17I mean, I
33:18personally feel
33:19that the
33:19census number,
33:20for instance,
33:20should have
33:21come out
33:21sooner.
33:22And I
33:22believe if
33:22that would
33:23have yielded
33:23certain greater
33:24amount of
33:25transparency,
33:26yes.
33:26And there
33:27were certain
33:27procedural delays
33:28which happened
33:28due to unnumbered
33:29reasons.
33:30Also, Shama
33:30ji, she said
33:32this has been
33:32going on and I
33:33need to bust
33:33this.
33:3480 crore people
33:35are being fed
33:35with food.
33:36Therefore, 80
33:37crore people are
33:37poor.
33:38How do you
33:39arrive at these
33:39distorted logic
33:40and conclusions?
33:41I mean, before
33:43this, during the
33:44UPA era, we
33:46all remember that
33:47these granaries
33:47which were
33:48filled and
33:48used to get
33:49rotten each
33:49time with
33:50mice-infested
33:51food lying
33:52there without
33:53being distributed.
33:54Today, if you
33:54distribute that
33:55between Indians,
33:56it doesn't
33:56automatically classify
33:5880 crore people
33:59as poor.
34:00And I think
34:00this is where
34:01World Bank,
34:02if you quote
34:02WHO, you
34:03want to
34:04call World
34:04Bank.
34:05No, no, but
34:05this is not a
34:07crosstalk program.
34:09The sooner you
34:09all realize that
34:10you're not on a
34:11different kind of
34:11channel, no
34:12crosstalk, but
34:13Rajat Sethi makes
34:14a good point which
34:14I want Yogendra
34:15Yadav to respond
34:16because many
34:17believe one of
34:17the achievements
34:18and look at the
34:18advertisements today,
34:19Mr. Yogendra
34:20Yadav, is the
34:21welfare schemes of
34:22the government.
34:23Narendra Modi has
34:23scaled up every
34:25welfare scheme using
34:26digital technology,
34:27using direct
34:28benefit transfer.
34:29Rajiv Gandhi's time
34:30it was said out of
34:311 rupee 15 paise
34:33only reach the
34:33real beneficiaries.
34:34Modi's government
34:35claims they've done
34:36much better on that
34:37score with large
34:38scaled up welfare
34:39projects.
34:46Rajdeep, when you
34:47have 11 years of
34:49a government, there
34:50are no doubt
34:51certain achievements.
34:52I personally, in my
34:54own impression, the
34:55Russian distribution
34:56done under Modi
34:58government has been
34:59quite effective.
35:00I regret the fact
35:01that it was confined
35:02only to 80 crore
35:03people.
35:03It should have been
35:0493 if Modi government
35:06had allowed the
35:06census to take place,
35:07but I would say
35:08that's good.
35:09But I think Rajat
35:10Sethi made a very
35:10important point.
35:12Accusing the prime
35:13minister of speaking
35:14lies is a very
35:15serious thing, I
35:16absolutely admit.
35:17And it is very
35:18embarrassing to say
35:19that my own prime
35:20minister lies.
35:21And I must concede,
35:22I was not party to the
35:23conversation between
35:25DGMs of India and
35:26Pakistan, but I am a
35:28citizen of this
35:28country.
35:29When my prime
35:30minister tells me in
35:31an address to the
35:33nation that Pakistan
35:35has vowed not to
35:37repeat and not to do
35:39any adventurous military
35:41activity and not to
35:44engage in any cross-border
35:47terrorism.
35:48And three days later,
35:50Pakistan does exactly that.
35:52then as a citizen, I am
35:54entitled to asking my
35:55prime minister, sir, who
35:57had made this promise to
35:58you?
35:59Was it an oral talk
36:00between two military
36:01officers and you took
36:02such a major decision
36:04based on that hearsay?
36:05Or is there some promise
36:07that I as a citizen of
36:08this country want to
36:09know?
36:10Either the prime
36:10minister deserves a
36:11Bharat Ratn for having
36:13achieved what no prime
36:14minister could do for
36:15last 20 years, or he's
36:16speaking a lie.
36:18Wasn't this the prime
36:19minister who told me,
36:20was that not a lie?
36:25Was demonetization not
36:27a lie?
36:28And about the COVID
36:28numbers, Rajat Sethi is
36:30probably not informed.
36:31He's probably not seen the
36:32newspapers in the last
36:33three, four days.
36:34The numbers are not
36:35from WHO.
36:37The numbers are from
36:38government of India's
36:40report.
36:40That's the 21 lakhs,
36:42the new revised numbers.
36:42Minister of deaths and
36:44births.
36:44Can I come in?
36:46Yes, and these are
36:47government of India's
36:48official figures.
36:50Please do not distract.
36:52And since Sanju ji was
36:53very keen that I should
36:54call Mr. Modi fascist,
36:56which I don't, because I
36:58think I like to analyze my
36:59own problems in my own
37:00terms.
37:01What I say, Sanju ji, is
37:03this.
37:04Please find if I have
37:05called him fascist, you
37:06can do your own research.
37:08But what I say is this.
37:10Mr. Narendra Modi has
37:11diminished Indian
37:13nationalism.
37:14Externally, he has
37:15reduced the stature of
37:17India.
37:18And if you need it,
37:19any one instance,
37:20Operation Sindhu showed.
37:21Please put a voice down.
37:22Not one big country
37:23stood with us.
37:24And internally, he has
37:26damaged the unity of
37:27this country.
37:29This is the greatest
37:29damage to Indian
37:30nationalism.
37:32Now you can shout.
37:32Let me take that to
37:34Sanju Verma.
37:35Sanju Verma, I'm going to
37:36play some visuals at the
37:37moment of Manipur, a
37:38state where we've seen
37:39ethnic violence erupting
37:41in May 2023.
37:42More than 200 people have
37:43died.
37:43The violence continues.
37:44The Prime Minister doesn't
37:45go there.
37:46He's not gone there once.
37:47He travels the world,
37:48travels India, but not
37:49Manipur.
37:50It's part of the
37:50problem.
37:51If I look at it from a
37:52critical point of view,
37:53that the Prime Minister
37:54only wants good news.
37:55He never shares bad news.
37:57The glass is always
37:58half full.
37:59It may be his strength.
38:01But what about the
38:01glass half empty?
38:02How do you respond,
38:03particularly as
38:04Yogendra Yadav seemed
38:05to suggest, he claims
38:06the country is more
38:07internally divided than
38:08ever before.
38:09Your response, ma'am.
38:13Rajdeep, Yogendra Yadav
38:15gave a long speech.
38:16You did not interject
38:16him even once.
38:18The Congress spoke.
38:18You did not interject.
38:19I first want to know,
38:21will I be allowed to make
38:22my point without you
38:23interjecting me?
38:25I asked this very
38:27highly of you.
38:27I am not interjecting
38:28in you.
38:29In fact, Shama Mohammed
38:30complained I was
38:31interjecting.
38:31Please go ahead.
38:36Okay.
38:37Now, let me add one thing
38:38very clear to you.
38:39Yogendra Yadav,
38:42that the certificate
38:43is for Pradhan Mantri
38:44Modi, you know,
38:46Yogendra Yadav can keep
38:48those certificates to
38:49himself because I am
38:49reminded of a saying
38:50by Tennessee Williams.
38:52The only thing worse
38:53than a liar is a liar
38:55who is also a hypocrite.
38:57Yogendra Yadav is both
38:58a liar and a hypocrite.
39:00Yogendra Yadav
39:01like people's
39:02dhukaan
39:03in 2014
39:04has been closed.
39:05These people are
39:06rattled.
39:07This is why
39:07the TV debate
39:08has paid
39:09kindness.
39:10They have the
39:10audacity to undermine
39:12the credibility
39:12of Prime Minister
39:13Narendra Modi.
39:14Yogendra Yadav said,
39:15BJP Haryana
39:16Haraygi.
39:17Yogendra Yadav had
39:18egg on his face.
39:19Yogendra Yadav said,
39:20BJP Maharashtra Haraygi.
39:21We had a strike rate
39:22of 89 percent
39:23thanks to
39:24Narendra Modi's
39:24tarisma.
39:25Yogendra Yadav
39:26had a nice
39:26big fat
39:26on his face.
39:27Yogendra Yadav
39:28said,
39:29BJP
39:29Dilli
39:30Jeejegi
39:30We won
39:31Delhi after
39:3227 years
39:33and the
39:34lives of
39:34Yogendra Yadav
39:35who is a
39:36has-been.
39:37Can we avoid
39:39the personalization?
39:41Ma'am,
39:41I asked you
39:41a question.
39:42I didn't ask
39:43you about
39:43you don't have
39:44to attack
39:44Yogendra Yadav.
39:45You have to
39:45answer my
39:46question.
39:47Do you believe
39:47that the
39:47Prime Minister
39:48also needs
39:49to share
39:49sometimes
39:50the not so
39:50good?
39:51Should he
39:51go to a
39:51Manipur for
39:52example and
39:53try and
39:53provide a
39:53healing touch?
39:54I will
39:58answer now
39:58please let
39:59me finish.
40:00You expect
40:00the national
40:01spokesperson of
40:02the BJP to
40:03be on your
40:04debate and
40:04you expect
40:05me not to
40:06counter the
40:06charges by a
40:07husband like
40:08Yogendra Yadav
40:09who passed the
40:09Prime Minister
40:10and lied.
40:10Are you joking
40:12Rajdeep Sardesan
40:13and let me
40:13tell you
40:14money for
40:14Pradhan
40:15country
40:15but first
40:17and foremost
40:17your wife
40:19Sabarita
40:19Ghosh is a
40:20TMC
40:20employee.
40:21Do you
40:23support how
40:24Hindus were
40:25butchered
40:25in Murshida
40:26path?
40:26Do you
40:27support how
40:28Hindus were
40:28butchered in
40:29Murshida path?
40:29Do you
40:29support how
40:30Hindus were
40:30butchered in
40:31Murshida path?
40:32Ma'am,
40:32these are
40:33you see again
40:34the problem
40:34I ask you
40:35questions you
40:36divert the
40:37debate.
40:37I am asking
40:38you straight
40:38no no you
40:39must answer my
40:40question.
40:40Don't you
40:41know let's
40:41not personalize
40:42we are having
40:43an intelligent
40:43conversation.
40:44The Prime
40:44Minister's
40:45strengths and
40:45weaknesses.
40:46Tell me what
40:47you think again
40:48how do you
40:49want to
40:49specifically
40:50respond?
40:50Yogendra
40:50Yadav said
40:51Prime Minister
40:52has weakened
40:53India internationally
40:54and nationally.
40:55Respond to that.
40:55I will speak
40:56now don't
40:56repeat.
40:57Please don't
40:58repeat and
40:58please put
40:59a ticker down
41:00that your
41:01wife Sagarika
41:01Ghosh is a
41:02member of
41:03parliament.
41:03You are
41:03suffering from
41:04conflict of
41:05interest.
41:05I have no
41:08problem.
41:09It's a
41:09public
41:09this is not
41:11a debate
41:11about the
41:12TMC it's
41:12about the
41:12PM but if
41:13you don't
41:13want to
41:13answer it
41:14that's your
41:14problem.
41:14yes now my
41:16final point is
41:17this.
41:19This is what
41:19I want your
41:20audience to
41:21know.
41:21Rajdeep
41:22Sarveshai.
41:23Today
41:24agriculture
41:25budget has
41:26soared five
41:27times.
41:29Under
41:29Pradhan
41:30Mantri
41:30Krishi
41:31Bhima
41:31Yojana
41:3135 crore
41:33insurance
41:34applications
41:35regarding crop
41:36insurance have
41:37been processed.
41:38Today 3.7
41:39lakh crore has
41:40been given to
41:41farmers to
41:4211 crore farmers.
41:43Today 25
41:44crore soil health
41:45cards have been
41:46issued.
41:47Today more than
41:491.75 lakh crore
41:51has been
41:51distributed via
41:52PM Fasal
41:53Bhima Yojana.
41:55Today the loan
41:56limit under
41:57Kishan credit
41:58scheme has been
41:58high from 3 lakh
41:59to 5 lakh.
42:00You have 20 more
42:00seconds.
42:01You have 20 more
42:02seconds.
42:02My final point.
42:03My final point.
42:04In the last 11
42:05years from United
42:07Kingdom to Latin
42:08America to South
42:10Africa to Brazil
42:12to Argentina to
42:13Australia.
42:14Either the
42:15incumbent leader
42:16changed or the
42:17incumbent party.
42:19Despite Rajdeep
42:20Sardesai's false
42:22agenda at 9
42:23PM, Prime
42:24Minister Narendra
42:24Modi became the
42:25only leader in
42:2662 years to
42:28become Prime
42:28Minister for the
42:29third time in a
42:30row.
42:30Good point.
42:31That's a good
42:32point on which
42:33your 20 seconds
42:35is up.
42:35Your 20 seconds
42:36is up and
42:36Shabha
42:37Mohammed that's
42:38a point on
42:38which I want
42:38you to come
42:40in and conclude
42:41the debate.
42:41You can argue
42:42about the
42:43Prime Minister,
42:44criticize him.
42:44The fact is
42:45he's India's
42:46first Prime
42:46Minister in 62
42:47years to win
42:48three elections.
42:49Even since
42:492024 the BJP
42:51won Haryana,
42:52they won
42:52Maharashtra,
42:53they won
42:53Delhi.
42:54The Congress
42:54politically seems
42:55much weaker.
42:57Clearly the
42:57people of the
42:58country seem to
42:59endorse Mr.
43:00Modi's
43:00leadership.
43:01Will you accept
43:02that when you
43:02came on the
43:03program and said
43:03you have nothing
43:04positive to offer
43:05that this
43:05government has done
43:06nothing positive?
43:07Isn't that part of
43:09the problem that
43:10the Congress is
43:11not seeing the
43:11writing on the
43:12wall?
43:13See, when you
43:14have CBI,
43:15when you have
43:16ED, when you
43:17have the NIA,
43:18when you have
43:19the RBI,
43:19when you have
43:20everything, the
43:21media, not you,
43:22but many, under
43:23your control, the
43:24question is always
43:25asked now to the
43:26opposition.
43:27When we were in
43:27government before
43:282014, it was
43:29always asked to
43:30us.
43:31One very important
43:31thing in democracy
43:32which is not there
43:33right now is
43:34accountability.
43:35Rail accidents
43:36before the rail
43:37minister used to
43:37resign.
43:38If corruption
43:39charges, the
43:40minister used to
43:41resign during our
43:42time.
43:42And we would ask
43:42for a CBI poll.
43:44So in democracy,
43:44there is no
43:45accountability.
43:45Very important
43:46point today.
43:47Gas, international
43:48oil price right
43:49now is $65 a
43:51barrel.
43:51We are paying
43:52103.
43:53In Mumbai, it's
43:54103 for petrol
43:55and diesel is
43:56around 90.
43:57And gas is
43:58around 1,000.
43:59So what is
43:59happening?
44:00Where is this
44:00money going?
44:02Then the very
44:02important, other
44:03important thing is
44:04rapists, you know,
44:05in terms to
44:06women, rapists
44:06are released and
44:07they're used for
44:08election campaigning.
44:10Gujarat, 2021
44:11elections where
44:12the rapists were
44:13released and they
44:14were, sorry,
44:15why?
44:16If all is so,
44:18if all, no, no,
44:19one minute, 30
44:19seconds.
44:20If all is so
44:21wrong, why is this
44:22government continuing
44:23to win?
44:23Why is Mr. Modi's
44:24popularity still so
44:25high?
44:26It can't only be on
44:27ED and CBI.
44:28Yes, Rajdeep,
44:29because there is
44:30complete control.
44:32This is horrific
44:33what we see.
44:34Even Manipur,
44:35when it came to
44:36cases of women,
44:37the Prime Minister
44:37of India is
44:38always silent when
44:40any rape happens
44:41against women and
44:42a member of their
44:43parliament or
44:44MLA is involved.
44:45And last but not
44:46the least, look at
44:46Pakistan right now.
44:47They're saying the
44:48foreign policy is
44:48excellent.
44:49I am not giving
44:50loan to Pakistan.
44:52The World Bank
44:53giving loan to
44:54Pakistan.
44:55Most nobody, they
44:56have spoken against
44:57the attack, but
44:57nobody has spoken
44:58against Pakistan.
45:00They're getting
45:00enough.
45:00China, Russia,
45:02which has given
45:02a loan of $2.5
45:04billion to
45:05get to see them.
45:06Ma'am, your time
45:07is up.
45:07Let me see an issue
45:08on the foreign
45:08policy.
45:09Ma'am, your time
45:10is up.
45:11Your time is up,
45:12Shama Mohammed.
45:13I have given
45:13equal time.
45:14Please put her
45:15fader down.
45:16I have heard all
45:16the sides.
45:17You can say not
45:18fair.
45:18I have been more
45:19than fair.
45:20I have listened
45:21to all of you.
45:22At the end of the
45:23day, Yogendra
45:24Yadav and Rajat
45:25Sethi, I will give
45:26you 20 seconds each.
45:27Yes, Yogendra,
45:28you first.
45:2820 seconds each.
45:32Quickly, Yogendra
45:32Yadav.
45:32I just wanted to
45:33say to Sanju
45:34Ji, Sanju
45:34Ji, I'm not all
45:37that important.
45:38This is about
45:38Modi Ji.
45:40Using the show
45:41for this kind
45:42of a name
45:43calling only
45:43proves that you
45:44probably can't
45:45defend Modi Ji.
45:46I said four
45:47things about the
45:48lies of the
45:48Prime Minister on
45:50ceasefire, on
45:51China, on
45:53demonetization, and
45:54on COVID.
45:55Please think of
45:56that.
45:57Please don't be
45:57so obsessed with
45:58me.
45:59I'm not all
45:59that important,
46:00Sanju.
46:00I've heard you,
46:01Yogendra Yadav.
46:02Rajat Sethi, is
46:03this part of the
46:04problem?
46:04This debate
46:05reflects the
46:05polarization.
46:06It's so polarized
46:07that it eventually
46:08ends in name
46:08calling.
46:09Is that part of
46:09the problem even
46:10in the last one
46:11year?
46:13Well, politics
46:14has always been
46:15this polarized.
46:15It's just that we
46:16do talk a lot
46:17about it on social
46:18media and
46:19otherwise, so it
46:19just sounds so
46:21volumous.
46:22But nonetheless,
46:23you know, you
46:23need to see that
46:24what Congress has to
46:26do today in
46:26order to
46:26counter and
46:27counter an
46:28upsurge of
46:28BJP with
46:29this way, with
46:30this approach.
46:31They haven't
46:32built so far an
46:32alternate model of
46:33governance.
46:34They have
46:34consistently failed
46:36on that
46:36communication to
46:37draw out a
46:37contrast with
46:38Prime Minister
46:39Modi's style of
46:39functioning and
46:40his style of
46:41governance.
46:41If you only
46:42crib and you
46:44do not come
46:44out with a
46:45positive agenda,
46:46how do you
46:46go out and
46:47compete with
46:48him?
46:48You cannot.
46:49And this is
46:49why the results
46:50will be repeatedly
46:50the same, even
46:51on foreign policy.
46:53Why does Rahul
46:53Gandhi not stand
46:54up and don
46:56the hat, perhaps
46:56what Bilaval
46:57Bhutto is
46:57trying to do?
46:58Go around the
46:59world, who
46:59stops you?
47:00Go around and
47:01discuss with
47:01people, present
47:02a positive
47:03outlook.
47:04This is what
47:04India needs
47:05from a
47:05responsible
47:05opposition.
47:06If you
47:06don't do
47:07that, Prime
47:08Minister is
47:08here to
47:08stay for
47:09another decade.
47:10And we
47:10will carry
47:11on with
47:11discussions,
47:12debate after
47:12debate, with
47:13no end
47:13result.
47:14Touche.
47:14We'll leave
47:15it there.
47:15We'll leave
47:16it there.
47:16Our aim was
47:17to try and
47:17be as objective
47:19as possible,
47:20listen to
47:20various points
47:21of view.
47:21That's what
47:22we try and
47:22do.
47:22I appreciate
47:27you joining
47:28me here on
47:28our news
47:29today, Talking
47:29Point.
47:34Axiom 4
47:35mission with
47:36group captain
47:37Shubanshu
47:38Shukla, who
47:39is scheduled
47:39to go into
47:40space, has
47:41now been
47:41delayed.
47:42ISRO says
47:43due to
47:43weather
47:43conditions,
47:44the launch
47:44of Axiom
47:454 mission
47:46from Florida
47:47has been
47:47postponed from
47:4810 June to
47:4911 June, so
47:50only by a
47:50day.
47:51The targeted
47:51time of
47:52launch is
47:52now 5.30
47:53p.m.
47:54IST on
47:55the 11th
47:55of June
47:562025, day
47:57after tomorrow.
47:59Well, on
48:00the spot is
48:01my colleague
48:02Akshita
48:02Nand Gopal
48:03joins me
48:03from Titusville,
48:05Florida, near
48:06the Kennedy
48:06Space Center.
48:08Akshita, we
48:09are told that
48:09the flight is
48:11now, the
48:11launch has
48:12been postponed
48:13by a day.
48:14Can you give
48:14us more
48:14details?
48:15Yes.
48:15Well, a
48:20day or
48:20more, we
48:21don't know
48:21just yet,
48:22Rajdeep.
48:23Last
48:23minute change,
48:24you know,
48:24they were
48:24just issuing
48:25our passes,
48:25I just
48:26got my
48:26media
48:26accreditation,
48:27and they
48:27made all
48:28the plans
48:28for the
48:28launch
48:29tomorrow,
48:29when suddenly
48:30the news
48:30came in
48:31that SpaceX
48:31has decided
48:32to push it.
48:33Now, what
48:33SpaceX has
48:34confirmed is
48:34that they're
48:34looking at
48:35either now an
48:35alternative
48:36or Wednesday
48:36or it
48:37could be
48:37Thursday.
48:388 a.m.
48:39Wednesday,
48:397.22
48:41or so
48:41Thursday,
48:427.37 a.m.
48:43Thursday is
48:44what they're
48:44looking at,
48:45which will be
48:45roughly the
48:45same time as
48:46it was scheduled
48:47Indian standard
48:48time, which
48:48was about
48:495.30 in the
48:50evening, either
48:50on Wednesday
48:51or Thursday.
48:52The only
48:52deciding factor
48:53here is going
48:54to be the
48:54weather.
48:55Technically,
48:56you had
48:56SpaceX,
48:57Axiom,
48:58NASA already
48:59raring to go,
49:00ready for
49:00blast-off,
49:01but it is
49:01because there's
49:02a prediction
49:02of about 45%
49:04chance of
49:04rainfall that
49:05has been
49:05pushed to
49:06Rajdeep and
49:06add to that
49:07also, there's
49:08strong wins
49:08here in
49:09Florida, which
49:10is why the
49:10SpaceX team
49:11isn't leaving
49:12anything to
49:12chance.
49:13So at this
49:14point, it
49:14could be
49:15Wednesday or
49:15Thursday, we're
49:16keeping our
49:16fingers crossed
49:17that that
49:17wait doesn't
49:17get longer
49:18than that.
49:19But of
49:19course, there's
49:20a lot of
49:20attention on
49:21Shubhanshu
49:21Shukla, you
49:22know, going
49:22into space,
49:23first person
49:24since Rakesh
49:24Sharma, of
49:26course, there
49:26was Kalpana
49:27Chawla as
49:27well, but
49:29you know, what
49:29is the, in
49:31a sense, is
49:32there that
49:32Indian flavor
49:33as a result?
49:34I see a
49:39lot of
49:39Indians around
49:40me, but
49:41you know, a
49:41lot of them
49:41come and
49:42ask us what
49:42we're doing
49:43here, so
49:43really they
49:43don't know
49:44much of
49:44what's been
49:45happening.
49:45But having
49:45said that,
49:46you know, as
49:46far as
49:47Captain Shukla
49:48is concerned,
49:48Rajdeep, his
49:49family has been
49:50here, they've
49:51been here for
49:51the last many,
49:52many months.
49:53He's been in
49:53quarantine, so
49:54none of us are
49:54really allowed to
49:55communicate with
49:56him.
49:56Of course, with
49:57the delay in
49:58the mission, it
49:59also effectively
49:59means that the
50:00quarantine time for
50:01them gets longer,
50:02which I'm sure is
50:03also a little
50:04difficult for
50:05them, but they're
50:06of course prepped,
50:07ready to go, and
50:07perhaps knew all
50:08along that there
50:09would be an
50:09eventuality of a
50:10delay by 24, 48
50:12hours.
50:13His family is
50:14here, his wife,
50:15his four-year-old
50:15son, they're all
50:16here right now
50:17waiting for that
50:18launch.
50:19But we will know,
50:20of course, there are
50:20several centers set up
50:21for the viewing
50:22party.
50:23We'll be getting
50:23you those live

50:26be there.
50:27Okay, Akshita
50:28Dhan Gopal joining

50:35mission.
50:36Let's come down
50:37to earth as I end
50:38the show today
50:39because through
50:40much of my school
50:41and college years,
50:42I used to
50:42occasionally travel
50:43by the local
50:44train network, and
50:46you always got a
50:46sense that tragedy
50:47was never far away.
50:49Today, that
50:49translated into
50:50reality as four
50:51passengers were
50:52killed and eight
50:53injured after
50:54falling from a
50:55moving train.
50:56The victims were
50:56apparently traveling
50:57on footboards and
50:58collided with
50:59commuters.
51:00The accident has
51:00put the focus yet
51:01again on the
51:02dangers of
51:03overcrowded suburban
51:04travel.
51:05Take a look in
51:06this report.
51:13Bodies on railway
51:15tracks.
51:17At least four
51:18people were killed
51:19in Mumbai after
51:20more than ten
51:21people fell from
51:22trains moving at
51:23high speed.
51:26The accident took
51:28place at
51:28Mumra station
51:29as two local
51:30trains, one to
51:31Chhatrupati
51:32Shivaji terminus
51:33and the other to
51:34Kassara, passed
51:35each other.
51:35in the
51:36train, two
51:37trains
51:38can
51:40talk to
51:40the
51:41two trains
51:42or
51:43the
51:44two
51:44trains
51:44were
51:45traveling
51:46on footboard.
51:49They had to
51:50travel on footboard.
51:52They had to
51:53tell them
51:55that their
51:55back was
51:56also
51:56behind them.
51:57There was a
51:58back.
51:59There was a
52:00lot of
52:00injuries
52:00What exactly caused the accident is not clear.
52:30Authorities also pointed out that the accident took place at a spot where there is a sharp curve.
53:00The local train was overcrowded. It was P car. And at Mumra railway station, an accident happened.
53:18You can see over here, there is a bag over there. There are footwear of commuters fallen over there.
53:27Around 13 commuters fell off this local train, four of them died on the spot,
53:35while nine are critically injured and are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in Thane.
53:45The Mumbai local, the city's lifeline, is overcrowded during rush hours, with passengers travelling on footboats.
53:52While the city and its people are used to it, safety was always a concern.
54:03The latest accident should act as an eye-opener and force the railways to take steps to make travel by Mumbai local safer.
54:11With Vidya and Divyesh Singh in Mumbai, Bureau Report, India Today.
54:17Troubling news there from Mumbai. Let's leave you with more troubling news tonight in my image of the day,
54:25which comes from Los Angeles. We look at Los Angeles as the world's entertainment capital,
54:30but the images coming in the last 24 hours from L.A. are rather troubling protesters who have gone on a rampage,
54:37clashes, arson over immigration raids.
54:40U.S. President Donald Trump deploying the National Guard.
54:43The L.A. governor in fact has sued the Trump administration claiming that he has affected state sovereignty.
54:52Those are the images coming in from the United States, many of them troubling,
54:56and we are told that the violence has only intensified in some parts in the last few hours.
55:02L.A. on the boil. It doesn't only happen in India. Street protests take place across the world.
55:09Many of them are eminently avoidable.
55:12Thanks for watching. Stay well. Stay safe. Good night. Shubhra 3. Jai Hind. Namaskar.
