00:00I think, and then I think Brendan should talk because he was the one really responsible for
00:04getting Lex into the show. But I think for me and for the writers, both Amanda Waller and Lex
00:09Luther are so convinced they're right. And so they're the heroes. There's an alien invasion,
00:14they know it's coming, and they'll do anything to prevent it. That's what heroes do. So I think
00:21what makes them such a potent pair is the fact that these are two people who will never accept
00:27that they're wrong. And if the world suffers for it, that just reinforces their beliefs.
00:34So they're flawed, like all of our characters. But unlike, you know, Clark, who just has anxiety,
00:40or Lois, who's maybe a little too ambitious, their flaw is that they're going to discount people who
00:46they think are weak, or they discount people who they don't care about for the bigger picture.
00:50And that's terrifying. Yeah, and our Lex is on his road to becoming the Lex Luther we all know and
00:56love. And so in season one, he was also an intern like our heroes. And now in season two,
01:00he's finally got the boss that's going to let him get to the next level of his career,
01:04so to speak, through her nefarious deeds, fund his stuff for him to do instead of having to work for
01:12some other weirdo. And just so you know, Brendan sneakily backdoored Lex in. We were given a no
01:18Lex Luther mandate for the show for seasons one and two. You gotta have Lex. And Brendan said,
01:22okay. And then he's like, I was gonna have an assistant, his name's gonna be Alex. And we're
01:27like, is this Lex? And he's like, maybe. And then our execs are like, is this Lex? And he's like,
01:30if you want him to be. And then he got his way. And I was so aggressive to watch it. This was like
01:35a year and a half long campaign to get Lex through the show.
