Rick Carlisle says Tyrese Haliburton's effectiveness is not just based on how many points he can score

00:00There's a lot more to the game than just scoring.

00:05So everybody's got to do more.

00:08Starts with the best players.

00:10Starts with Tyrese and Pascal and Miles.

00:13And then it goes from there.

00:15People shouldn't just look at his points and assists

00:18and judge how he played or judge how any of our guys played.

00:22That's not how our team is built.

00:24I mean, we're an ecosystem that has to function together.

00:28You know, we've got to score enough points to win the game.

00:31But who gets them and how they get them, not important.

00:36Yeah, I think we've got to do a better job of getting to the paint.

00:39You know, it's a lot easier said than done.

00:41But I feel like in the first half, we were just moving the ball on the outside.

00:44And I don't think we had a single point in the paint in the first quarter,

00:48if I'm not mistaken.

00:49So, you know, our offense is built from the inside out.

00:53We've got to do a better job getting downhill.

00:54But, yeah, man, they're flying around.

00:55They've got great point of attack defenders.

00:57They've got great rim protectors.

00:59You know, it's a great defense.

01:00So we can do a lot better job and, you know, watch the film

01:04and see if we can get better, you know, going into game three.
