00:00Is it possible that Elvis Presley might be alive?
00:03Welcome to Ms. Mojo, and today we're looking at rumors about celebrities that have been debunked.
00:09Well, guess what? We have the gerbil. He's here and he's going on the record.
00:14Number 10. Harry Styles spits on Chris Pine.
00:17By the time it was released in September 2022,
00:21the behind-the-scenes drama surrounding Don't Worry Darling
00:24sparked more chatter than the film itself.
00:27Are you the man that you say you are?
00:28There were various stories about the supposedly troubled production
00:32and tensions between the cast.
00:35We can put at least one rumor to rest, however.
00:37When the psychological thriller premiered at Venice, a video was taken,
00:42seemingly showing Harry Styles spitting on co-star Chris Pine before sitting down.
00:47Yeah, you know what we're talking about.
00:49This viral moment with Chris Pine at the Venice Film Festival.
00:53While Styles made a gesture with his mouth, no saliva is visible.
00:57Pine appears puzzled, but doesn't look like someone who just got spat on.
01:02Although Styles joked about this at Madison Square Garden.
01:05I just popped very quickly to Venice to spit on Chris Pine.
01:09He brushed off the rumor while Pine's representatives called the claims a, quote,
01:14complete fabrication.
01:15Pine himself also outright denied it.
01:18I think what he said is he leaned down and I think he said,
01:21it's just words, isn't it?
01:23Because we had this little joke, because we're all jet lagged.
01:26We're all trying to answer these questions.
01:27And sometimes when you're doing these press things,
01:30your brain goes befuddled and, you know, you start speaking gibberish.
01:33Number nine, R.I.P. Steve Burns.
01:36In 1996, Blue's Clues premiered on Nickelodeon,
01:40turning host Steve Burns into a TV icon.
01:43Hi out there, it's me, Steve.
01:45Have you seen Blue, my puppy?
01:48There he is!
01:49About two years into production,
01:51rumors started circulating that Burns had tragically died.
01:55Burns would appear on the Rosie O'Donnell show to dispel these rumors.
01:59Hi, Steve!
02:00Hey, how are you doing?
02:01How are you there, huh?
02:03The hoax drew comparison to a similar conspiracy
02:05that Paul McCartney died and was replaced with a lookalike.
02:09Blue's Clues co-creator Angela Santamaro felt this was different,
02:14given the show's young audience.
02:16After Burns left Blue's Clues in 2002,
02:19the rumors gained traction again.
02:21Okay, so you've probably noticed that from time to time,
02:25I like to wear a green striped shirt.
02:27The most widespread iteration seemed to be that Burns died
02:30from an overdose of substances.
02:33Then in 2015, a fake news story claimed that Burns had perished in a car crash.
02:39Of course, those who followed the paw prints know this isn't true.
02:43I guess I just wanted to say that after all these years,
02:46I never forgot you.
02:49Ever.
02:49To say that not everyone is a Lea Michele fan would be an understatement.
02:57I just got you on the cover of New York Magazine.
02:59In the background.
03:00You were practically glowing about it.
03:02That's because I accomplished something.
03:03It had nothing to do with you.
03:04While there have been numerous stories about the Glee star,
03:07the most outlandish is that she's illiterate.
03:10The rumors seemingly emanated from a 2017 episode of the One More Thing podcast.
03:16Discussing Naya Rivera's memoir,
03:18hosts Jay Hunt and Robert Ackerman threw out theory that Michelle couldn't read.
03:23Do you have any idea how difficult it is to be me?
03:26Do you have a Facebook account or Twitter account?
03:29Yes.
03:29Do you have time to watch Bravo or read a book or buy laces for your incredibly high comical boots?
03:33I don't.
03:34It's exhausting being me.
03:36They took this further in a Facebook Live video, providing so-called evidence.
03:40It might have been a joke, but that didn't stop the internet from latching on.
03:44Although Michelle repeatedly denied these claims,
03:47the rumors still made the rounds every few years.
03:50In 2025, Michelle dropped by therapist with Jake Shane,
03:55reading cards live in an attempt to close the book on this.
03:58Okay, what should this person do?
04:00Take the win or tell the truth?
04:01Well, what was I didn't even catch?
04:03I was so enamored.
04:03Well, let me read it to you again, Jake.
04:05Okay.
04:05Number 7.
04:06Halle Berry's Six Toes.
04:08No matter how beautiful someone else is,
04:11there will always be those who try to find perceived imperfections,
04:15even if they have to make them up.
04:17In Halle Berry's case,
04:18it was rumored that the Oscar-winning actress and Miss World contestant has six toes on one foot.
04:24Are you okay?
04:25A girl like me lands on her feet.
04:28The earliest mention of this rumor we could find was in a 2005 article.
04:32Although it's hard to say when and where exactly it originated.
04:36Regardless, Berry shot down this rumor in a 2022 episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
04:42Citing her feet as her proudest physical feature, Berry showed off both to the audience.
04:47She even counted each piggy to confirm there were five on each.
04:51One, two, three, four, five.
04:56It's not the first time Berry went barefoot on camera if you need more evidence.
05:01Well, Cliff, test results are right.
05:04Number 6.
05:05Katy Perry is JonBenet Ramsey.
05:07In 1996, young beauty pageant winner JonBenet Ramsey mysteriously died in her home,
05:14launching conspiracy theories that persist even to this day.
05:18A lot of things didn't make sense.
05:20By far the strangest is that JonBenet is alive,
05:23and she grew up to be pop star Katy Perry.
05:25And you only think, always speak, critically.
05:32Popularized by David Johnson,
05:34the rumor generated attention about two decades after JonBenet's murder.
05:39In addition to noting a physical resemblance,
05:41conspiracy theorists believe Perry was throwing us off track when she reportedly said,
05:46quote,
05:47There was no JonBenet Ramsey inside of me waiting to burst out.
05:51Can't get off this ride.
05:55The rumor resurfaced in a 2025 AI-generated video,
06:00to which Perry replied,
06:01quote,
06:02Wait, am I?
06:03The theory doesn't add up, though,
06:05as Perry's upbringing is well-documented,
06:07and she was born six years before Ramsey,
06:10who had an autopsy.
06:12Number 5.
06:13Michael Jackson owns the Elephant Man's Bones.
06:16We've heard so many crazy and not-so-crazy rumors about Michael Jackson,
06:21that this one probably eluded you.
06:23When you black out drinking and you do crazy things,
06:26you kind of become like Michael Jackson.
06:28Like, any story anyone says about you might be true,
06:31and even you don't know by the end.
06:34There's a misconception that the King of Pop purchased the bones of Joseph Merrick,
06:38a.k.a. the Elephant Man.
06:40Although such a transaction never took place,
06:42there might be some truth to this rumor.
06:44I love the story of the Elephant Man.
06:46It reminds me of me a lot.
06:48In 1987, Jackson reportedly offered to buy Merrick's skeleton
06:52from London Hospital Medical College for between $500,000 and $1,000,000.
06:57The college supposedly rejected him,
07:00although Jackson later claimed in 1993 that he, quote,
07:04never asked for the Elephant Man's bones.
07:06Where am I going to put some bones?
07:08I don't know.
07:09Yet Jackson acknowledged that he was fascinated by Merrick's story.
07:13In any case, it's safe to say that Jackson never possessed Merrick's bones.
07:17Today, Merrick's skeleton can be seen at the Royal London Hospital.
07:23Number 4.
07:25Mr. Rogers, American Sniper.
07:27When people think of wholesome figures,
07:29Fred Rogers immediately comes to mind.
07:31I have always wanted to have a neighbor just like you.
07:37It's only natural there'd be myths attempting to shatter that illusion.
07:40Hey, neighbor.
07:41Welcome to this neighborhood.
07:43The one that hits the hardest is that Mr. Rogers was a sniper
07:46during the Vietnam War, being linked to the Navy SEALs and Marines.
07:51The rumor further claims that Rogers has multiple confirmed kills.
07:56Aside from not having a military record,
07:58Rogers would have been in his late 30s when U.S. troops arrived in Vietnam.
08:02Rogers missed the draft age, and it's not like he had time to enlist.
08:07By this point, he was already working in television,
08:10going on to create Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood
08:12a year before the number of U.S. troops in Vietnam peaked.
08:15It's pure make-believe.
08:17Sometimes people get sad.
08:21And they really do feel bad.
08:24Number 3.
08:25Richard Gearbill
08:27Hmm, how do we discuss gerbilling without getting demonetized?
08:31Well, remember that South Park episode with Mr. Slave and Lemmy Winks?
08:35You should be able to fill in the blanks from there.
08:38Some have debated whether gerbilling is even a real sexual practice.
08:41First of all, it's an- who would-
08:43A lot of people would-
08:45No, they wouldn't.
08:46What we can say with certainty is that Richard Gear never had a gerbil inside of him,
08:50despite that infamous urban legend.
08:53Predating the rise of the internet,
08:54this rumor goes back to the 80s when Gear was allegedly rushed to the emergency room for a gerbillectomy.
09:01The story only grew in notoriety during the 90s,
09:04although there's zero evidence backing it up.
09:06It's unclear who started the rumor.
09:08Although Gear supposedly blamed Sylvester Stallone, who denies doing so.
09:13I'll be subtle.
09:16I'm good at subtle.
09:17Number 2.
09:18Walt Disney Frozen
09:19Not long before he received the keys to the Magic Kingdom,
09:23Michael Eisner had a question for Walt Disney's daughter, Diane.
09:27Before Eisner could even finish, Diane Disney told him,
09:30quote,
09:31I know what you're going to ask, and no, dad isn't frozen.
09:35Disappointingly, though, there is zero evidence that Walt Disney ever wanted to put himself in the deep freeze.
09:41The fact that this question even entered Eisner's mind
09:43goes to show just how many bought into the idea that Walt Disney was cryogenically frozen.
09:49In reality, Disney died on December 15th, 1966,
09:54about a month after being diagnosed with lung cancer.
09:57The rumor suggests that Disney is still in a chamber containing liquid nitrogen,
10:01waiting to be thawed once there's a cure.
10:04Some say that the rumor was started by a few of the animators who worked for him.
10:08Quite the opposite of being frozen,
10:10Disney was cremated.
10:11It might be time to let this one go.
10:13Let it go, let it go,
10:16can't hold me back anymore.

10:38It's hard to think of a celebrity linked to more conspiracy theories than Elvis,
10:43the most popular being that the king of rock and roll didn't die in 1977.
10:47May I ask, how many of you think Elvis died August 16th, 1977?
10:53Would you raise your hands?
10:55All right.
10:56Now may we see hands for those who think that Elvis may be alive.
11:02Very interesting.
11:04About a decade after Presley was pronounced dead,
11:07Louise Welling claimed that she saw Elvis at a Michigan Burger King,
11:11as well as a supermarket.
11:13Welling wasn't the first person to imply that Elvis might have faked his death.
11:17Author Gail Brewer-Giorgio had been spinning tall tales for years.
11:22Number one, everything in this book has already been in the media before.
11:26All I did was take what was out there, compiled it, and put it together.
11:30But this went into overdrive as Welling's alleged Elvis sighting made headlines.
11:35Although numerous outlets ran with the story,
11:38the truth is that multiple eyewitnesses can confirm that Presley died in Graceland.
11:42This includes his fiancée, Ginger Alden, who discovered the body,
11:46and his daughter, Lisa Marie Presley.
11:49It was totally devastating to her.
11:51And I think that she, in some ways, spent her life grieving and grieving him.
11:58What celebrity rumors do you think are bogus?

12:03Well, maybe this is all part of a larger plan.
12:05Maybe Elvis intends to return.
