00:00The political romance between U.S. President Donald Trump and tech billionaire Elon Musk
00:06has come to a dramatic end, following days of tension that culminated in a war of words
00:11on social media on Thursday night.
00:14And then Musk went nuclear.
00:17In his own words, he dropped the really big bomb when he posted,
00:20Trump is in the Epstein files.
00:23So who was Epstein and what are the files Musk is referring to?
00:28Jeffrey Epstein was a U.S. businessman who was tried for sexually abusing dozens of girls under the age of 18,
00:35the youngest of whom was just 14 years old.
00:38Epstein was also accused of creating a prostitution network,
00:42and he was found dead in his cell in New York in 2019.
00:46With help from his close aide, Ghislaine Maxwell,
00:49Epstein had allegedly flown dozens of underage girls to Little St. James in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
00:55The island would later be nicknamed Epstein Island.
00:59Epstein's clients, who supposedly included powerful politicians and business people,
01:04are believed to be exposed in the so-called Epstein files.
01:08But while some flight logs were released during Maxwell's trial that included Trump's name,
01:12no such documents implicating wrongdoing are proven to exist.
01:16Some loud voices in Trump's Make America Great Again movement claim Epstein's suicide was staged by powerful figures,
01:25including prominent Democrats, who feared Epstein would expose their involvement in trafficking.
01:32But Trump's own FBI officials have dismissed such speculation,
01:36and there is no evidence supporting it.
01:38Epstein isướng.
01:41Epstein continues to becsin'
