00:00it was supposed to be a moment of joy a celebration 18 years in the making royal
00:15challengers Bengaluru had finally won the IPA the city was buzzing streets were packed fans
00:22were emotional but what began as a night of pride ended in panic pain and death outside
00:29Bengaluru's Chinnaswami Stadium chaos unfolded 11 people lost their lives among them a 14 year old
00:36girl a mother young fans full of dreams crushed and trampled in a stampede not caused by nature or
00:43violence but by pure avoidable negligence let's be clear this was not an accident this was a failure
00:49by RCB's management by the Karnataka Congress government by local authorities who had no clue
00:56what was coming and by fans who let excitement override common sense in India we have normalized
01:03this stampede death compensation and then silence no accountability no learning just business as
01:11usual but not today on today's honest take with me Tejas we are asking the questions they would
01:17rather ignore we are putting the spotlight where it belongs on those who let this happen if you're
01:23tired of sugarcoated news and want the truth raw and honest hit that subscribe button and tap the
01:29bell icon because this story is about more than cricket it's about how little a life is worth in
01:35this country the royal challengers Bengaluru finally after 18 long years won the IPL the city was overjoyed
01:42but celebration turned into chaos when over two lakh people gathered outside the Chinnaswami Stadium a venue
01:50that can barely hold 35,000 people let that sink in over two lakh people for a venue seven times
01:56smaller what followed was a recipe for disaster people without passes scaled walls broke through
02:03barricades and swarmed the area one slab covering the drain collapsed under the sheer weight of excited
02:09fans and that's what it all took what followed later was panic screams stampede bodies on the ground
02:16CPR on the footpath people dying while others cheered inside the stadium yes inside the stadium the
02:22celebrations continued music blared speeches were made selfies were clicked outside bodies were piling up
02:30how can you still clap when the cost of your celebration is 11 dead fans let's start with the RCB
02:36management you wanted a hero's welcome you hyped it up you posted on social media you invited the city but did
02:44not even have the basic crowd safety plan you knew the emotional investment fans had you knew what
02:50an 18 year title drought meant you fueled that frenzy and then failed to handle the fire you lit yourself
02:57where was your coordination with the police why didn't you cancel the event when you saw the madness
03:03why didn't you come out and stop the celebrations when people were dying just outside your gates now to
03:09the congress government in Karnataka you are running a state not a funfair you must have had the data the
03:15intelligence the police reports Bengaluru police had already denied permission for the open top parade
03:21you knew things could spiral out of control so why didn't you set up barricades at a distance
03:28announced clearly that only pass holders would be allowed provide adequate emergency response vehicles and
03:35crowd dispersal teams and don't give us that tired excuse the crowd was unexpectedly large what were
03:42you expecting after an 18 year drought and citywide announcements this was not unexpected this was
03:48unprepared unapologetic and unacceptable let's also talk about the fans yes you love RCB we get it
03:55but there is a thin line between fandom and frenzy people jumped gates pushed others scaled walls ran over
04:03kids stormed barricades this wasn't love for the teams this was chaos wrapped in obsession and
04:09obsession kills it killed 11 on June 4th it killed 30 in prayagraj during mahakum it killed 133 in
04:17hathras in 2024 it killed over 23 during the elphinstone stampede in mumbai and we still never learn this
04:24isn't new what do all these tragedies have in common lack of crowd management failure of state no
04:30accountability repeat again and again because in india human life is cheap post the stampede
04:37politicians tweeted condolences the chief minister promised an inquiry rcb said they were deeply saddened
04:44bcci washed their hands of it fans shared rip post and the show went on you know what didn't go on
04:51the lives of the 11 dead their families their dreams all ended over a cricket celebration this wasn't a
04:58tragedy this was a crime a crime of collective responsibility so here is the honest take until
05:04rcb owns up until the karnataka government is held accountable until you the citizen stop placing
05:11celebration above common sense these stampedes will continue next time you hear there is a mega
05:17celebration don't go because in india the crowd kills and the system does not save don't become the
05:24next hashtag this was honest take with me tejas if this shook you don't just share it speak up demand
05:31accountability and above all value your life more than a trophy thank you
