00:01Bulgaria is set to join the Eurozone at the beginning of 2026.
00:05The country has been seeking to switch its current currency, the LEV, to the Euro since it joined the EU in 2007,
00:12but progress was stalled due to persistent inflation and political unrest.
00:16But now, the European Commission and European Central Bank have signed off on Sofia's accession.
00:22Prime Minister Rosenzelietskov hailed the news as historic.
00:27This is the reason for the proudness of the Bulgarian society.
00:35A society that, since the beginning of the 1990s,
00:41has a dream for the Bulgarian generation to be part of the European European Union,
00:51which has been successful in 2005,
00:56effectively in 2007, when we were a member of the EU,
01:01which has been a part of many difficulties in finance and bank.
01:07But the Bulgarian people, with a lot of hard and hard work,
01:13with a lot of decisions,
01:16managed to do what other countries did not do.
01:20have been able to protect the criteria,
01:24trust and opinion of European institutions.
01:27Bulgaria will now work to gradually adopt the Euro as its official currency.
01:33But the country has been preparing for this moment for a while,
01:36and are confident that the transition will be smooth.
01:39I can be happy to say that Bulgaria, the Bulgarian government,
01:43is ready to remove the Euro from 1 January 2026.
01:48We are ready for this process.
01:51Petkova also emphasized that there will be clear and transparent monitoring of prices throughout the process.
01:58In that case of the EU,
02:00while we are not here,
02:02we are still staying there and living in the EU
02:05to the EU.
02:07We are still staying there and doing it for the EU.
02:09And then leaving for the EU,
02:11I know my time to work on this exercise.
02:12It's probably not possible.
02:13It's been a good time for people to try and to try and have to work on it.
02:15So even though we are unable to try and have to be careful.
02:18It's possible to try and make things in our second process.
