The U.S. will skip doubling steel and aluminium tariffs for the U.K., just hours after the two countries agreed to implement a tariff relief deal as soon as possible.

00:18Officials from the UK and US recently met in Paris to fast-track the implementation of a tariff relief deal.
00:25The UK was the first country to secure such an agreement with Washington, aimed at protecting British businesses and jobs across key sectors.
00:35A government spokesperson said the UK was actively working to eliminate the existing 25% US tariff on steel.
00:43British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and US President Donald Trump had reached a deal on May 8th to reduce tariffs on British car and steel exports to the US.
00:52The UK also agreed to lower tariffs on beef and ethanol, but implementation of the deal has been delayed.
