00:00Last year I rode the Nitro Circus Ramp which is like a 50 foot gap with no middle and if you don't make it across you're going straight to concrete so that was pretty scary and it got a little windy on the day so I just made it a little more extra pressure but I made it through fine and it was okay but it was very scary.
00:24My name is Jackson Goldstone from Squamish and I ride mountain bikes and dirt jumpers.
00:31What got me into the sport was watching Danny McCaskill videos when I was really young.
00:58I was about four years old jumping off this little rock on my run bike. I've been riding since I was like two which is a long time.
01:14If my mom has never seen me ride before and I just went out and did a 50 foot jump she'd be like peeing her pants right now and she would be like she wouldn't look.
01:26Since she's watched me do all this stuff for so long she's actually pretty good and my dad just found no way with everything.
01:32In the winter it's very cold and you can't really ride your downhill bike that much so in this winter I usually like dirt jumping more because it's just kind of what I do and it's more fun at that time but in the summer everything switches because you can ride downhill bikes all the time.
01:49It's about 60% physical and 40% mental. The mental part you know you have to make sure you remember all your lines. The physical part is making sure you keep pushing at the end and not getting tired by the end of the time.
02:07What I do for training is two to three times a week I go to CrossFit and then I try to ride my bike as much as I can with a whole bunch of friends. CrossFit we have this group that we go with.
02:28One of the biggest achievements in my life was probably winning the Rookies World Championships in Austria. Pretty much it's called the World Championships for kids so it's only kids 16 and under.
02:43My advice to younger kids or anyone that wants to start riding or is new to biking would just stay on your bike and keep it fun.
02:52Keep it fun.
