Who really wins a war today? It’s no longer just about territory or body counts — modern warfare is about strategy, resilience, tech power, global support, and narrative control. In this explosive breakdown, we dive deep into two of 2025’s biggest conflicts: Russia vs Ukraine – Where Russia may hold land, but Ukraine strikes deep with Operation Spiderweb, destroying bombers in Siberia and rewriting the rules of modern resistance. India vs Pakistan – After the Pahalgam attack, India unleashed Operation Sindoor, targeting key Pakistani airbases with unmatched precision. The result? A short but decisive show of strategic might. From territory loss to defence destruction, global diplomacy to psychological edge — we unpack who lost what, and more importantly, who's actually winning in this new age of warfare.

00:00There is no other option for safety, for security of Russia, except for doing special operations.
00:30Figuring out who wins a war today is not simple.
00:46It is not just about who takes more land or who loses fewer soldiers.
00:52Modern wars are more complicated.
00:54To understand who is truly winning or losing, we have to look at many things.
01:00This includes what each country wanted to achieve in the war, how strong their economy
01:05remained during the fighting, and how much support they got from other countries.
01:12Another big factor is how the war affects the way the world sees each country after the
01:18fighting is over.
01:20In other words, who controls the story and public opinion?
01:25For example, if one country keeps fighting without losing hope, even after many losses,
01:32that shows strength.
01:34Or if a country uses new technology like drones to damage the enemy's important weapons, that
01:40can also show who is doing better, even if they haven't won back any territory yet.
01:47When we look at the war between Russia and Ukraine and the recent war between India and Pakistan,
01:55we need to consider all of these things to understand who is truly winning, who is losing,
02:01and what each country has gained or lost.
02:10As of mid-2025, Russia occupies approximately 20% of Ukrainian territory, including regions
02:18like Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson, and Zaporizhza.
02:23Recent offensives have seen Russia gaining 173 square miles in April 2025 alone.
02:31Conversely, Ukraine's counter-offensives have reclaimed areas in the Kharkiv and Kherson regions.
02:38Notably, Ukraine's Operation Spiderweb, a few days back, targeted Russian air bases deep
02:45within Siberia, destroying 34% of Russia's strategic bomber fleet and causing an estimated
02:52$7 billion in damages.
02:59The human toll is staggering.
03:01Russia has suffered nearly 1 million casualties since the invasion began in February 2022.
03:08Ukraine reports approximately 400,000 military casualties and 13,000 civilian deaths.
03:21Ukraine has received a lot of help from other countries, especially from the West.
03:25After Ukraine carried out successful drone strikes deep inside Russian territory, damaging
03:31important military bases, many Western nations decided to send even more weapons, supplies and
03:37support.
03:39This shows that Ukraine is gaining strong international backing, which is an important part of doing
03:45well in a modern war.
03:47On the other hand, Russia has made certain demands during peace talks.
03:51For example, Russia wants Ukraine to stay neutral, not join any military groups like the NATO,
03:59and to give up parts of its land.
04:01But Ukraine has refused these demands.
04:05And many other countries also disagree with Russia's position.
04:09This resistance to Russia's terms shows that Ukraine is not only fighting on the battlefield, but also holding firm in negotiations.
04:20An important turning point came when US President Donald Trump, who in the past was seen as being soft on Russian President Vladimir Putin,
04:28changed his tone.
04:30Recently, Trump distanced himself from Putin and bagged stronger actions against Russia.
04:37This shift has left Putin more isolated on the global stage, even among leaders who were once seen as friendly towards him.
05:00In May 2025, a four-day conflict erupted following a terrorist attack in Pehagam, in Jammu and Kashmir, India.
05:22India launched Operation Sindur in response, which involved deep strikes into Pakistani territory, targeting key air bases in Punjab and deploying drones over major cities like Lahore and Karachi.
05:35India showed strong military capability by carrying out deep and precise strikes inside Pakistan's territory, something it had not done since the 1971 war.
05:54These strikes were seen as a bold move, proving that India can hit terrorist launch pads or military targets across the border if provoked.
06:05Many international experts and defence analysts have called Operation Sindur a strategic success for India.
06:12It demonstrated not just military power, but also political will to respond to threats.
06:25Although the direct fighting ended with a ceasefire, tensions between the two countries remain.
06:32Both India and Pakistan continue to make strong political statements and take diplomatic steps to push their own narratives globally.
06:39However, India's quick and strong military response sent a very clear message that it will no longer tolerate cross-border terrorism and is ready to act with force if needed.
06:55Victory in contemporary conflicts is not solely determined by battlefield successes.
07:08The key factors include strategic objectives achieved, economic and military sustainability, international support and legitimacy, and post-conflict stability.
07:23In the Russia-Ukraine conflict, while Russia holds significant territory, Ukraine's resilience, strategic strikes and international backing have prevented a decisive Russian victory.
07:40The war remains a protracted struggle with no clear end in sight.
07:45In contrast, India's swift and targeted response in the brief 2025 conflict with Pakistan showcased its military prowess and strategic depth, leading many analysts to view it as a clear victory for India.
08:00In the end, winning a modern war is not just about capturing land or defeating the enemy's army.
08:07It is a combination of many things.
08:10How well a country achieves its main goals.
08:13How strong and smart its military actions are.
08:16And what the long-term effects are for the country and the world.
08:21Real victory includes not only battlefield successes, but also lasting peace, stronger international standing and better security for the future.
