00:00Yeah, Tim, uh, you know anybody at Daytona Memorial?
00:03Chief of Staff, why?
00:05He a race fan?
00:06Uh, Tim wanted you to meet Russ Wheeler.
00:09He's gonna be driving for us until you get your medical clear.
00:12It's a real pleasure to race your car, Mr. Strickle.
00:14Yeah, thanks for helping out.
00:16Uh, yeah, Tim, I need a home address of a doctor.
00:21I'm only sorry I won't be able to drive it in the air.
00:23It's at least you, though.
00:27I'll see you later, Harry.
00:30Yeah, uh, doctor that...
00:34That we're...
00:36Oh.
00:38What?
00:56I was desperate to get your attention.
01:00Well, you got it.
01:02I've walked into a jungle.
01:04No, it's...
01:05It's nicely extravagant, but really, I can't.
01:09I'm a doctor.
01:09I'm a call.
01:10And I'm patient.
01:11Somebody has to re-examine the value of me.
01:13Clear us.
01:14Come up here and do it.
01:15I'll take you to a race.
01:16Come on.
01:16I don't want to watch you guys going round and round in circles,
01:19chasing each other like a pack of dogs on my day off.
01:22Then have you chasing me on your day off?
01:24I don't have a day off me.
01:26I'm on call 24 hours.
01:28Okay, doctor.
01:29Let's suppose you had a couple of days off.
01:32Sugar.
01:33Sugar.
01:33With nothing else to do.
01:35Could I interest you in, uh, North Carolina countryside?
01:39Speaking theoretically?
01:41Speaking theoretically?
01:43Maybe.
01:43Maybe.
01:44But you'd have to convince my boss.
01:46Good.
01:47Good.
01:48How tall are you?
02:05What do you say?
02:07Doctor, fly to Charlotte and check those boys out.
02:13Boy, you're very quick.
02:18You've got to see me drive.
02:24The ride is not here.
02:25Well, I told her.
02:26They made us at the infield by five.
02:29Well, we should probably get started on call.
02:36Close your eyes.
02:38Palms up.
02:41Open your eyes.
02:43Arms down.
02:45Follow my finger.
02:48Stand with your feet together and close your eyes.
03:08Walk one foot in front of the other.
03:12Open your eyes.
03:14And back on the table.
03:15This is tough.
03:26Examinations always are.
03:27Why is that?
03:28Because I'm looking you over and I might not like what I see.
03:32That has to worry you.
03:34Pick a spot on the wall and look at it.
03:41Please don't move.
03:42I didn't move.
03:43Your eyes.
03:44Just focus on one spot.
03:55What do you see?
03:57The retina.
04:00What's it look like?
04:01Very pretty, actually.
04:14Seen enough?
04:15Just about.
04:18What did you do with that for?
04:22It's the Babinski side.
04:23If the toe goes up, you're in trouble.
04:27You're fine.
04:28Put on your clothes.
04:29You're clear to race.
04:29I'm sorry.
04:48I just dropped me nuts in there.
04:53How could you ignore me like that?
04:54I wasn't even like you.
04:56I wasn't ignoring you.
05:05I gave you a very thorough physical.
05:15You're not going to do anything weird on my leg, are you Cole?
05:18No.
05:19It's just something Harry and I work on together.
05:23It's called drafting.
05:24When one car tucks in behind another, two cars can go faster than one.
05:31They divide the air resistance between them.
05:34Now here's where it gets interesting.
05:36The lead car has to floor it to hit 200 miles an hour.
05:40But the car that's tucked in behind doesn't.
05:42It can go just as fast and still have power in reserve.
05:45So when these two cars come off that last turn, the car that's in back can move out of the draft and slingshot past the lead car, beat it to the finish line.
05:56And you go straight to victory lane.
06:04You and Harry work on that, huh?
06:08More or less.
06:10Yeah, right.
06:11Is there anything you want to do besides racing?
06:20Anything you say?
06:22Good.
06:23There must be something else that you want to do in life.
06:27Eventually.
06:27Well, I can tell you what I don't want to be in life.
06:35That's a fraud.
06:38I want to know it's not just dumb luck that gets me around that racetrack.
06:44That's not the question you're really asking.
06:47What's the question I'm really asking?
06:49How can I be in bed with this guy?
06:51I know the answer to that one.
06:53Maybe, but you're still asking it.
06:56How could I, your brilliant brain doctor, be in bed with a guy who drives a car for a living?
07:05What's your response to that, by the way?
07:10Do something to make me respect you.
07:11Do it.
07:14Tell me what you love so much about racing.
07:18The speed.
07:21To be able to control it.
07:24To know that I can control something that's out of control.
07:31I'd really have to show you.
07:36Show me.
07:36I need your hand to steady me.
07:44I'm not tonight.
07:48We're flying above.
07:51Hold my hand.
07:55Hold my hand.
07:56Don't let me fall.
