Why Superheroes Should Inspire Us (Not Be Like Us)
Why do we love superheroes? For me, it's simple: they represent the best of humanity. Superheroes show us what we could be-braver, stronger, more heroic. They remind us that with great power comes great responsibility. But lately, Hollywood keeps making our heroes dark, brooding, and flawed. Why do we want our superheroes to be just like us, when we already have enough of that in real life? In this short animation, I explore why we need our superheroes to be role models-people who inspire us to be better, not just more realistic. Let’s talk about why these new superhero movies just don’t work for me!

00:00Why do we love superheroes? That's an easy one. For me, it's because they represent the best of
00:06humanity. The idea that we can all be better people, braver, stronger, more heroic. And with
00:13great power comes great responsibility. That's why we love these characters and why we continue to
00:19make movies about them. But recently, there's been a trend in Hollywood where they take these
00:24iconic characters and they make them dark, brooding, mysterious. And I'm not talking about
00:31the villains. I'm talking about the heroes and this makes no sense to me. Why would we want our
00:37heroes to be more like us? We already have enough of that in real life. We don't need our superheroes
00:43to be flawed and broken and make terrible decisions. If anything, we should be looking up to them as
00:50role models as people who make the world a better place, not more realistic. And that's why I think
00:56these new superhero movies suck.
