00:00100 Emoji, Ethical Elephant Sanctuary When visiting Chiang Mai, itineraries almost
00:15always include a day trip to an elephant sanctuary.
00:18As tourists slash humans, it is absolutely our obligation to do our research in finding
00:23ethical elephant sanctuaries that don't force the elephants to interact with visitors in
00:28exchange for profit.
00:29Elephant Dream Project fits the bill, visibly happy and healthy elephants, no forced interactions
00:35such as bathing or riding, owned and maintained by local care and tribe villagers, and visitors
00:40follow the elephants, versus other sanctuaries where elephants follow the visitors or mahouts
00:45slash guides.
00:46Compared to other sanctuaries, Elephant Dream Project is more low-key and less commercial,
00:51which gave me a good impression because it appears that profit goes to elephant food and
00:55welfare.
00:55Please, support Elephant Dream Project to continue giving their elephants happy and
01:00safe lives, elephant emoji.
01:03The most amazing part of my stay here in Thailand.
01:06I was able to see elephants doing their own thing.
01:09They weren't forced to entertain us like many places in Thailand.
01:12I would go back to see these amazing creatures.
01:15This is a beautiful experience with the elephants.
01:21Most of the things you'll do is feed them, non-stop, and walk with them.
01:25Short trekking in will not tire you.
01:27No touching, although some tourists cannot avoid the urge to touch them.
01:31Observing them is such a joy.
01:33I enjoyed the simple lunch prepared by the locals.
01:36I love that this project encourages a more ethical ways to do eco-tourism.
01:41I hope Mr. D and his family slash tribe will be able to do more for their elephants.
01:45Please support these kinds of tourism.
01:47This place truly cares about the elephants.
01:50Even though there is no writing allowed, you will spend time hand-feeding the elephants
01:54and walking with them into the forest and to the river.
01:57An authentic experience without the guilt.
01:59This was my favorite experience in Thailand.
02:01Wonderful few hours spent with the elephants.
02:05Family that cares for them and runs the tours genuinely cares about the elephants and it shows.
02:10They were never forced to do anything they didn't want to.
02:13We were able to feed them a variety of foods,
02:15hike to the river with them and get in the water and feed them.
02:18Awesome experience.
02:20Delicious lunch was also provided.
02:22We were glad that we booked this activity as we supported an ethical elephant sanctuary.
02:26In here, they let the elephants be elephants.
02:29No riding, no forced bathing slash showering, no forced performing.
02:34Elephants roam freely as they please in their natural habitat.
02:37You can really feel that they were just enjoying themselves.
02:40They were like little kids enjoying their time in their little paradise.
02:44To learn more, you can read on their website, Elephant Dream Project.
02:48After reading, for sure, you'll also book this one smile hoping for your support to them,
02:53as we sincerely wish them success in their aspirations for the elephants and their community.
02:58The experience is incredible, even more so if you have never seen one up close,
03:03being able to feed them is something unique.
03:05The sanctuary is far away, and it is a trip on a winding road, bring Dramamine ha ha, I highly recommend it.
03:12It is always a pleasant experience being with the elephants, no matter where they are in the world, lol.
03:19This sanctuary is a lot smaller than the more popular ones,
03:22but this is 100% ethical as you are not allowed to touch the elephants.
03:27You can only feed them and watch them and take care of them from a distance.
03:30No riding or even bathing is allowed.
03:32This is a family-run sanctuary and they are hoping to buy more land so they can take care of more elephants.
03:37The elephant experience was amazing.
03:40You can see that they really take care of them, amazing care team.
03:44The only issue is that when you book your full day trip,
03:46you supposed to expend time again with the elephants and it didn't happen.
03:50They took us to a waterfall but without the elephants.
