00:00You gotta think the joke, say hello to my little friend's been used to death at McFarlane's factory.
00:05Here's a look at McFarlane toys, movie maniacs, Scarface's Tony Montana.
00:19Tony Montana, a young Cuban immigrant from Castro's jails, creates a violent path of destruction on his way to the top of Miami's drug trade.
00:27I'm sure not likely to come in clue with yayo.
00:29Heyo, let's take the tape measure and see how tall the movie maniacs, Scarface's Tony Montana stands.
00:35While I'm doing this, I'd as well like to thank the folks over at McFarlane Toys that did provide this sample.
00:40Whoa, let things go there.
00:42Tony Montana is going to stand at six and a quarter inches in height.
00:45Yeah, that works out to be a figure that's 16 centimeters tall.
00:48I know, I know, not really right to call these things figures.
00:51Since the resurgence of the movie maniacs, they have been more stach in statues than anything else.
00:56One thing I do like, though, and while sort of the choices have been questionable,
01:00the fact that I'm bringing Kevin Malone from the office,
01:02no, the pot is not full of yayo.
01:04Somebody right now is, yayo, what's that?
01:06It's soft drinks.
01:09While the pot clearly isn't going to be containing drugs,
01:13one thing at least, though, is that I do think the sizing of the statues have been really good,
01:17and I do like that the display stands have all used the same universally sized shapes.
01:22It wasn't, though, the case, obviously, when we looked at the first run of Movie Maniacs,
01:25when Todd sort of brought the line back.
01:28As an example, you can see here's like Gandalf.
01:30Gandalf doesn't have that same type of display stand that kind of went more with terrain back then
01:34that was pulled more from the movie or whatever TV show that they appear in.
01:38I like now, since, that they've changed the directions and focus to give us these type of display stands,
01:43where, again, they look the same, they're shaped the same,
01:45they're just different things that are printed on the top and also different names feature on the front.
01:49So, when it comes to Tony's accessories, the figure does, first of all, come and include with a poster.
01:53The poster does actually slot on the back of the display stand,
01:56so that's the place, obviously, where you can store it.
01:58On the front, we've got the half and half, the black on the one, the white on the other,
02:02and then, of course, Tony Montana featured on the front.
02:04If you follow along wrestling during the Attitude Era,
02:06actually, it was a little after the Attitude Era,
02:09Eddie Guerrero, the late, past Eddie Guerrero, actually had a t-shirt that had something similar to this as well.
02:14So, I like the poster, and I know, like, I kind of criticized Kevin Malone
02:17for having not something that was inside Dunder Riffle,
02:19and they chose instead just to have promotional images from Season 7 instead of Season 5,
02:25which, if you've seen my review, doesn't really make much sense.
02:27I actually like this. I think the poster works okay.
02:30And cool, too, is that once you actually slot it on the back like this,
02:34it has Tony Montana featured, essentially, in the same place where he is in the poster.
02:37So, again, you've got the black on the one side, the white on the other.
02:41I mean, Tony Montana never really lived things black and white.
02:44It was always sort of gray and right down the middle.
02:46He's a crazy guy.
02:47One thing, too, with the display base, well, you get the back card.
02:51If you flip around to the back, it does give us also a certificate of authenticity.
02:55So, it does serve as two purposes.
02:57This certifies that the limited edition worldwide product Tony Montana figure is authentic
03:01and officially licensed by McFarlane Toys.
03:03The figurine was created, developed, and designed by Todd McFarlane
03:06and is an award-winning group.
03:08All figures are individually hand-painted and sequentially numbered.
03:12Look at this, though, too.
03:13Out of the, do I really want to say limited run?
03:166,350, would that be considered a limited run?
03:19Mine just happens to be P1, number one, number one.
03:22Tony Montana thought he was number one.
03:24I'm not going to be thinking I'm on the same levels as Tony Montana.
03:27Not at all.
03:29So, I do, again, like to look at this poster as an alternative, too.
03:33If you happen to have yourself the box, don't throw everything away.
03:36You actually have the inside of his office right there.
03:41And then, of course, we've got the girl from the abyss coming in there.
03:43She's shooting away at Tony Montana.
03:44She says some colorful things I'm not going to be repeating, obviously, in this review.
03:48It's a family-friendly channel.
03:50But, of course, that's an option available as well.
03:52So, if you don't want necessarily to have Tony Montana displayed with his poster, just don't throw it away.
03:56Whatever you do.
03:57It's a certificate.
03:58But you can also have the figure displayed that way.
04:00And then Scarface is just written along the side.
04:02So, that's kind of cool.
04:03Let's move that off to the side, though.
04:05The figure, yes, does come include a little foil bag.
04:08I haven't opened this up yet.
04:09So, you and I are going to know together what exactly is the content inside.
04:14I'm going to make no more references of things that Tony Montana was known for dealing.
04:18I don't think there's also going to be any firearms in there as well.
04:20Judging by, that's a pretty flat firearm.
04:23To pull open the bag and not rip any of the contents, hopefully, inside.
04:27I'm going to be very careful.
04:28Very careful.
04:29Anybody want to take any guesses?
04:31Well, what have we got here?
04:33Oh, two stickers.
04:33I say two stickers like I didn't already know that.
04:36Say hello to my little friend.
04:38Obviously, we're going to have that there.
04:40And then we've also got the N and the T.
04:42I guess the Tony Montana logo.
04:43I was starting to say an N.
04:44Clearly, that's an M.
04:46I do like the way that it's hooked around the T.
04:48That would be a great patch.
04:49Although, sticking that just on a denim jacket isn't just going to cut it.
04:52The moment I go outside and get anything wet, that sticker is just going to fall right off.
04:58Just going to be discouraged, defeated, like Michelle Pfeiffer.
05:02Anyways, again, you can just peel this off.
05:03You can stick it anywhere that you want.
05:04I'm going to have to find a good place to put that logo of Tony Montana.
05:08Find a good place.
05:09Not going to discard it.
05:11Carefully moving it right over there.
05:12As for the look of Tony Montana.
05:14Now, he has several suits in the film.
05:17It looks to me like they clearly have chosen the suit that he has in the final finale of the man's life.
05:23It's all black.
05:24Obviously, he's got the black vest inside.
05:26He's got the little handkerchief there to the side as well.
05:29We're going to talk a little bit more about his face just in a second, though.
05:31But one thing I did also want to kind of mention, too, is the sort of lack of details.
05:37Now, Tony does have a black jacket and a black pair of pants.
05:40That's right.
05:41If you were to go back, though, and watch the movie again, he technically does have pinstriping.
05:47So it's a little bit lighter of a black.
05:49And then you can kind of just see the faint tracing of lines.
05:51I feel like they could have.
05:53Now, I know printing figures like this, all of that goes into the cost of production.
05:58It's not just a case.
05:59Obviously, every line that you see on a figure's body has to, of course, be eaten up by the figure's budget.
06:05So, like, that's one of the reasons why printing on figures tend to increase the cost of the figures and why things like Spider-Man tend to be also more expensive.
06:12But had they maybe found a way just to add a little panel lining or maybe even made the suit a little bit lighter.
06:18Just, again, because if you put him in front of the poster, the black suit really does nothing for making him stand out.
06:24You can certainly see it a lot better on the white side.
06:25He gets a little lost, though, on the black.
06:28For his head sculpt, though, I think it's pretty good.
06:31I mean, again, for the size of the figure.
06:33I would imagine, though, that Pacino probably did lend his likeness that they wouldn't just guesstimate what the figure should look like.
06:38Of course, I think overall, I think they look the part.
06:42He looks the part quite nice.
06:43He does also have the little pistol in his hand, too.
06:45Now, it's a shame that they didn't give him the semi-automatic or the machine gun that he has near the end of the movie.
06:50He's just blowing away the cartel.
06:52I think that would have been a much nicer accessory.
06:55I mean, he's sort of more just in a stoic pose, not the crazier, just like, this guy's gone by the end of the movie.
07:00He's just like, well, he's getting involved with some of the, like, never sample your own products.
07:05What is it?
07:06Don't get high in your own supply.
07:08Tony does, not only without getting high in his supply, he just takes things to the next level.
07:13Again, giving him probably the pistol, the more subtler pistol probably was the smarter thing to do,
07:17as opposed to, again, this guy, just the cool look of having him with the machine gun in his hands.
07:22I mean, again, just for a standard standing pose for the figure, it probably makes more sense,
07:27especially when you're comparing him with, like, a Kevin Malone.
07:30Kevin Malone's only just trying to carry his world-famous chili into the room.
07:34I mean, you know, you'd like to kind of have all the cares more in just standing poses.
07:38Tony Montana putting him in a more dynamic, gestured pose probably really wouldn't have made as much sense for him being a statue like this.
07:45The sculpting on the jacket looks really overall quite good, even though, again, I still feel like the jacket and, like, the vest,
07:51the pants are a little too dark, but I think, like, they've done a nice job, at least, of sculpting the wrinkles in there.
07:56He's got the wrinkles there also on the jacket.
07:58Well, really well made.
07:59I mean, to think that somebody's gone in there as well and hand-painted these pieces.
08:03These aren't factory done.
08:05I mean, again, like, if you look at that face, just, I don't have the patience nor the steady hand
08:10to try to get there and try to paint the pupils here of Tony.
08:14I think they've done a really nice job for it.
08:15Does it look, though, like Pacino?
08:17That would be a questionable point.
08:18I think from certain aspects it does.
08:20I mean, again, like, you have to really also factor in the size of this figure as well.
08:23And, like, his head is smaller than my thumbnail.
08:26Of course, when it comes to his display stand, the same stand, in fact, has been used for a lot of the movie Maniacs as of late.
08:32Kevin Malone's would have been done all in gray.
08:34Montana's, on the other hand, is black on the front, gray on the top.
08:38And then he's got the scar face, sort of the half-and-half black and red, and then the nice white font on top of it.
08:44This is also textured, too.
08:45So, I just thought initially that getting this out, it was just going to be all just painted in place, or they would have just labeled it.
08:51But they have actually sculpted it.
08:53Can you see that?
08:54There's, like, some coarse texturing there to the base.
08:57And this is all raised font.
08:59Of course, you've got Tony Montana featured on the front as well.
09:02Like, you know, most of the time when I have these movie Maniacs displayed on the shelf,
09:06lately, though, I've kind of been taking off the back cards.
09:09Because, again, like, if you have the cards removed like this,
09:12you can have a lot of times the figures a lot closer together.
09:14The moment you bring back, though, these poster cards that they include, these index cards,
09:18say, let's put this on the back of Tony Montana's display base.
09:23And let's just say we put it next to Kevin Malone's.
09:26Kevin would then have to be about that far away,
09:28because he's obviously going to have his index card background as well.
09:32And then, of course, that's just going to take up a lot more space.
09:34You're going to have to instead factor in from going from there to about there for each figure.
09:38And then how many have we gotten already from Movie Maniacs?
09:40For me lately, though, just because, again, I'm trying to reduce the space and footprint on my shelf,
09:44I like to generally keep a lot of the figure together.
09:46I don't really think, though, that Kevin Malone would be secretly working for Tony Montana.
09:49I mean, again, I don't even know what else has been in the chili.
09:52We know it's ancho chilies.
09:53And I know the secret, really, is to undercook the onions.
09:56But I don't think he's smuggling anything else inside the pot.
09:59I mean, you could create the story for yourself if you're looking to put these on the shelf as well.
10:02Like, Kevin Malone could be doing things behind the scenes to make a little extra bread.
10:06But I do like the look of Tony Montana.
10:08Unlike, though, Kevin, where, again, like, you would really look at that character like that in half the question.
10:13A movie? No.
10:14A maniac? Maybe not.
10:16Tony Montana checks both of those boxes, and I think he checks them really well.
10:19Yes, he does also come include a couple of stickers.
10:21So, again, that's one of the benefits also of these figures, too, is that you all, saying figures, statues,
10:27that you get a couple of little stickers, too, things that you can find places for.
10:30Other than maybe just changing the color of his jacket, if this is the finale and the way he goes out at the end of the movie,
10:36I probably would have gone in there and changed the jacket.
10:39I would have really loved had they found a way to incorporate the pinstriping of his jacket.
10:43But I know that's extra bread.
10:44That's extra money that's being spent to then produce a figure like this.
10:47In the end, though, we have a nice-looking Tony Montana.
10:50One that, if you are collecting the movie, Maniacs, currently right now,
10:53one that you might likely already be displaying, or, if not, already have your sights on getting one for yourself.
10:58Now, if you'd like to get your hands on Tony Montana, who doesn't, right?
11:02The figure seems to be listed online with a release date of May 2025.
11:06It's not to say, though, that he isn't already running around the streets right now.
11:10But if you're looking to order him at certain places online, like Big Bad Toy Store, for example,
11:15May 2025 seems to be the release date for him.
11:17He's going to be selling right now for $25.99.
11:20I know some sites have already listed the increase with the tariffs now added.
11:24Much higher tariffs mean much higher prices.
11:26But still, for like a $25 statue, not a bad-looking likeness, though, to Al Pacino and Tony Montana.
11:32One of the more famous roles that he had over his illustrious film career.
11:36Speaking of illustrious film careers, going back, though, and talking about Gina Montana,
11:41played, of course, by actress Mary Elizabeth Mastro Antonio,
11:44she had quite the run of movies, really, when you think about it.
11:47Scarface, she was in 1983, then proceeded to be in The Color of Money.
11:51She was in The Abyss in 1989.
11:53One of my personal favorites of her films, Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves.
11:56We could kind of overlook the fact that Kevin Costner has a very weak British accent.
12:00But Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves, one of my all-time favorite Robin Hood films.
12:04That has nothing to do at all with Tony Montana.
12:06A big thank you again to the folks over at McFarland Toys that did provide this sample.
12:11This was the movie Maniacs.
12:12A fitful, rightful character, I think, also for the movie Maniacs.
12:15Let me just also say, I question it with Kevin Malone.
12:19I don't question it at all for Tony Montana.
12:21He has a rightful place in the line of movie Maniacs.
12:24But we're kind enough to provide, of course, the sample that we had a look at.
12:27What do you guys think of Tony Montana?

12:37Dick Tracy was certainly right there as well.

13:02See you guys next time.
