College Basketball Fans Are Upset About New March Madness Plans

The day college basketball fans have dreaded could arrive soon.

00:00According to the NCAA's president, one of the biggest topics at the Big 12 meetings is NCAA tournament expansion.

00:05It's looking like there's a good chance that we're going to see more than 68 teams in next year's bracket.

00:09Anyway, fans aren't happy about it. Here's what they're saying.

00:12One fan said, everyone involved in college sports seems to be obsessed with making it worse.

00:16Another fan said, there is not one single fan that wants this.

00:19There was a tweet that said expanding the tournament is one of the NCAA's top priorities,

00:23to which one person replied, on the list of top priorities of the NCAA,

00:26March Madness tournament expansion shouldn't even be in the top 100.

00:29I definitely agree.

00:30A fourth fan said, NCAA president Charlie Baker should stop getting greedy and leave it at the already large field of 68.

00:36It was a nuisance when we expanded from 64. Don't make it worse. Stop overthinking.

00:40And finally, another fan said, they find the one thing that doesn't need fixing and screw with that.

00:45As for my opinion, I don't think we ever needed to expand past 64 teams.

00:48I don't really watch the playing games. And when I'm making my bracket,

00:51I look at the playing games, but I don't really care. The playing games mean nothing to me.

00:54However, they do teach me about schools I've never heard of. So I guess there's that.

00:58While the NCAA's goal is definitely to squeeze more money out of March Madness,

01:01I will say outside the NCAA, it does benefit the student athletes.

01:05So I don't think it's a completely evil idea because now there's going to be more teams participating in March Madness.

01:10And basically, like I just said, this gives more schools and more players a chance to put themselves on the mat.

01:15So I guess my final thoughts on this is no, I don't need the NCAA tournament to expand.

01:18However, if they do, it's not going to ruin my day.

01:21It's not going to ruin March Madness for me. Big deal.

01:23There's going to be more playing games that I don't watch.

01:25And then I'll just pick up the NCAA tournament on the day of the true first round.

01:28It's going to make no difference. It's not a big deal.

01:31People need to chill out.
